Dear. Dr. Paul

Dear Dr. Ron Paul,

We have met on a few occasions just briefly. You were doing your gracious duty by putting up with me and so many others by shaking our hands, answering our questions, and signing autographs.

I still do not remember what it was “exactly” that officially woke me up to your campaign, but I do remember the first time I ever saw your name. I was driving southbound on US-23 sometime in winter/spring 2007. On an overpass I saw a sign, and all it said is “Ron Paul Revolution” with the signature “love” emphasized. I did not immediately go home and google Ron Paul. I was fed up with the entire political system at the time. I have always been politically active and opinionated, but 2008 was going to be the first time I was actually convinced I would not vote. Thankfully you brought me to life and hope again. Dr. Paul, you cured my apathy.

I will never forget the first time I saw you. Fall of 2007 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on the campus of the University of Michigan. You spoke of limited government, economic freedom, and personal liberty and responsibility. You talked of repealing the 16th amendment, thus killing the economic enslavement, which the Federal Reserve brings us. You also spoke of the War on Drugs and its failure. I stood on the steps of the U of M DIAG and ate up every word you said, along with over 1,500 others. I attended by myself, with my camera. I tried my best, following your speech, to meet you and get a picture with you. You were mobbed and probably were a little scared, stuck in the center of a large crowd of people touching you and yelling praises our way. You were gracious, and even seemed to enjoy it.

Over the course of the campaign I would attend at least a few more events with your presence, as well as countless events campaigning on your behalf. We organized and held sign waves in the dead of winter, and somehow managed to stay warm and smiling the entire time. I met so many new people I would never have had the pleasure of meeting without your campaign. We relish times when we can get together just to discuss our big ideas on tiny government and personal liberty.

You brought my family together sir. Over the past couple of years my family has been through a lot. Pulled through the mud and left with bruises. When I first began supporting you, my dad made light of it. Cracking jokes about you and my support for you. I did not back down. I bought my dad your book, “A Foreign Policy of Freedom”. I slowly noticed my dad begin to change. Before too long my brother, my mom, my dad, and myself would be at the same sign wave in Brighton, Mi. shouting your praises to the masses. I thank you for that.

Please do not misunderstand me sir, I do not wish for you to think that I worship you, or blindly follow you. I simply must put my respect where it is due. You have become a hero of mine. A gentle, soft spoken, friendly hero. The Campaign was about more than you and your name, but I would be lying to myself if I did not thank you personally.

Your speeches never cease to inspire me, and your speech at The Rally For The Republic was no different. The mixture of passion, inspiration, principles, emotion, and potential and hope, had me grinning and cheering with excitement the entire time; All the while trying my hardest to hold back tears, trying still as I think and write about it now. Over 1.2 million people voted for you in the primaries and that is great. But to be in a room with you and over 10,000 people who feel exactly the same about freedom and life is overwhelming for this 24 year old.

Dr. Ron Paul, Sir I mean this. I love you.

Sincerely,

Matt Letten

great letter Matt

I think we all "love" Ron Paul!

Ron Paul has opened Pandora's Box

Ron Paul is not only Hope for America - he is Hope for the World. He is our hope even here in Europe - and by "us" I mean those Europeans who are aware of what's going on and who understand the benefits of freedom and peace.

To quote Dr Paul himself (at the Rally for the Republic, 3 September) : "There's something exciting in the air. A revolutionary spirit has erupted, and it will not be suppressed. We are involved in a historic event."

Amen to that!

Very well said, Matt

The revolution will carry on forever. Save all of these feelings and keep spreading the freedom message. Pass it on to your children, grandchildren, and generations to come. Teach them well. That's what I intend to do. I will preserve every speech, every emotion, and all that I have learned throughout this campaign and pass it on!

The best event of my life so far...

Great Matt! I didn't hold back the tears and man, were they proud tears.

Just got home here in CA from the Rally. NEVER have I ever screamed myself hoarse! Finally at 62. What a joy. What an outstanding, recharging, glorious gathering of people that IMHO are each truly a one in a million! To all those that didn't make it, we represented you and were wishing you could be there with us. And you know you were in spirit, believe me. Just listen to those cheers. Wow!

I got to hug Mr. Nystrom an extra long time for the great friendship we developed over the past couple years in cyberland. Michael and so many of the best people in the world all together. It was a feast of joy to meet so many that I knew and talk with so many I did not know. We must get together often for this great renewing experience.

There. Gush done. Sorry. I am the Gourmet of cheeze! Lol. It was just plain overwhelming.

Peace out to you all. –Steve

Thank you Steve!

Steve I want to thank you for all you have done for the liberty movement through your music. My brother and I had so much fun at the Jager club on Monday night drinking, talking with fellow patriots, and listening to your soundtrack for the freedom movement!

Sweet!

Good to hear!

Matt, I couldn't have said it

better myself. Thank you for sharing this with us. I understand how Dr. Paul inspired you. He is my hero, too. It is our 14th anniversary today and we were suppose to be heading home from the rally. Unfortunately we did not have the money to travel. My daughters (9,8 & 5) had planned to pool their piggy bank money to give to us as a gift and use for the trip. Upon hearing their plan I began to cry (of course) because it touched my heart. They have listened to my excitement for sometime about attending the rally, seeing Dr. Paul speak and wanted to see us go so badly. My little one came up to me while I was crying and hugged me. She said, "Don't cry Mommy, you'll see Ron Paul someday."

I am the luckiest Mom to have such great daughters.

Plan B

Ron Paul for Speaker of the House, there is always another way to the White House.

I believe many of us have

I believe many of us have those same thoughts and feelings. Thank you for sharing that wonderful letter with the DP. I love reading stories of "awakenings", reminds me of mine.

God's peace

I will definitely send it to the Good Dr.

Let us keep up the fight for liberty. Yesterday was the beginning!

Thank you

What a beautiful post to start the day with.

How Can Any of Us Give Up?

How could we look our children and grandchildren in the eye knowing young people like this need hope for the future? How can any of us give up condemning them to a future of total control by people with no conscience?
For those of you who did not hear Dr. Paul speak last night, listen to the videos that will be appearing everywhere on the internet (while we still have it) and pass the link on to those who don't know. Start passing out flyers even if you have to make them yourself and can only produce a few at a time. We cannot give up and we will not give up. To much is at stake!

PyraBang for Liberty

Hand write it and send it to Dr. Paul

I hand wrote a letter and sent it to him. When I met him this weekend, he remembered my letter. He also wasted no time in responding to my letter by sending me and my two oldest sons personalized autographed photos, within a week's time.

Wow, great letter. Brought tears to my eyes.

I sure hope my own daughter finds a freedom-loving young man to share her future with. Never give up the fight for liberty. Peace.

Matt: That was a very inspiring message because it will be your

generation that carries the Freedom Torch to new heights not only here in America but all around the world as well. The Liberty message is indeed popular. It's universal and a part of the human spirit that will never die. There is much to look forward to!

Love (consciousness) is in everything including the void.

I intend to. Im guessing the best way would by to find his congressional address?
