Chuck Baldwin: An Appeal To My Fellow Pastors
by Chuck Baldwin | November 6, 2007
Recently, Iowa pastors gathered to hear my presentation in Des Moines on behalf of Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul. After listening to me, they then heard ten-term Republican Texas Congressman Ron Paul himself.
Consider how Congressman Paul's message impacted Pastor Jim Hartman of the Assembly of God church in Conrad, Iowa. "I've been supporting Mike Huckabee, but I would say I'm leaning real strong toward Ron Paul." Hartman supported President Bush four years ago and explained, "Up until the last six months I had not allowed myself to imagine that we'd been let down by Bush." As for Iraq, he said, "I don't think we were prepared to understand that culture and to work with that culture." He said he now feels "humble and I feel kind of bad that I haven't done a better job of being faithful to Ron Paul's kind of integrity." [Source: MSNBC, Oct. 30, 2007]
Integrity: that is the issue drawing millions to Ron Paul, including young people. The night before I spoke, nearly 700 students gathered at Iowa State University in Ames to hear Dr. Paul. One of those students wrote me recently. His name is Nathan Rockman. He wrote, "As a columnist for the Iowa State Daily here on campus, I have seen first hand what can be described as Ron Paul fever. Since Dr. Paul visited this past Friday, his message of freedom and liberty has been spreading through campus like wildfire . . ."
Ron Paul doesn't recruit artisan spin writers and bloggers to wear down those who might question his past dealings. He doesn't need to. There are no missing hard-drives, ethics violations, and taxpayer funds used for personal use that need to be spun away.

great article
This is a very well-written and powerful article. I will be sending the link to all my believing friends.

This is a great idea. I was just thinking of how I could do that when I saw your post.
Thanks.

To all my religiously inclined friends who think that Huckabee is the one to vote for because he's a pastor....but don't get that he is a compromiser on taxes and the constitutional republic.
Catholics for Ron Paul
We need the Catholics too.
Please have a Mass said every Sunday for Congressman, Doctor, and Presidential Candidate Ron Paul.
Not only will everyone hear his name but his name will also be listed in the weekly and monthly bulletins.
Jim Palmisano
nice
I'm not Catholic, but that's a great idea.
This is just about God's
This is just about God's way. We'll all not agree on everything. But there's one thing we can agree on...and that's freedom of religion.
The country was founded on that premise.
Lou Dobbs
Lou was talking yesterday about Christian Value Voters group starting or endorsing a 3rd party who is anti-abortion. What I can't for the life of me, understand why they don't see that Ron Paul is the only choice, they don't need a 3rd party. And the media..... why they keep asking about RP going 3rd party..... figured that one out.. 3rd party does not win. period. They take votes away from the other 2 but they do not win. They want him to be a Ross Perot, and RP knows this. Best way to deal with that question when asked again is" not a option" end of discussion.
Anyways maybe someone can give Lou a shout and explain things to him, I have tried but no results yet.
Lou Dobbs
Yeah, I can't understand why Lou doesn't get some pom poms and start cheering for Ron. Maybe they don't see eye to eye on trade issues, but they should be super compatible on immigration and eveything else.
Puzzling...

Chuck Baldwin is the Man!
This is such an awesome article. I've been a fan of Chuck Baldwin for years now, and this article of his reminds me of why I joined the Constitution Party in the first place (even though I'll still be voting for Congressman Paul in the Primary and General Elections). I truly hope Chuck Baldwin sends this article to all the Christian leaders of this nation because they need to be reminded of what a President is supposed to be like. Anytime we have Christian leaders in our country supporting the likes of a Rudy Giuliani or a Mitt Romney, we have a serious ecclesiastical (and moral) problem in the area of Church and politics. The Founding Fathers would be ashamed of the American Church today for what we continue to put up with.
Must get evangelicals
One person that we really need to get is Janet Folger www.f2a.org she is huge in the Christian community but she comes off almost as a moral legalist that wants to use big government to force virtue.
Anyway she has been DIE HARD Huckabee but if he dwindles we might get her.
there is a poll on Folger's FAITH2ACTION front page
It asks:
Who are you supporting for President?
Why?
And it give you the space for a paragraph stating why.
The comments are reviewed before posted, so AS ALWAYS be respectful and civil.
This is what I answered:
Ron Paul.
I have been a fan of his for many years because of his consistent principled, conservative record. I am even more impressed by his humility, wisdom, and courage since the campaign started. He has and WILL keep his word and his oath to defend the Constitution, which he understands better than any other candidate. And I trust him to overturn Roe vs Wade where Republicans in the past have only given lip service to defending the unborn souls.
He is really the only "conservative" running that I TRUST. Huckabee talks smooth, but with all DUE respecct I think he is just another opportunistic pandering politician.
I Like Janet Folger, But...
She lacks the understanding of what a Constitutional republic is and how it is suppose to function. I agree with you, falfreak, that she appeals to big government in order to legislate and define religious/moral issues that God has already declared in His Word and relegated to His Church. I will be praying for her as well as contacting her ministry.

Great stuff Chuck

Faith can move mountains, and we're seeing it quite a bit. Your work is exceptional and an inspiration because you are active and positive in your support of Ron Paul. You are making a difference!
So here's hoping that the word will continue to spread in time for the Iowa Caucuses! I think we will be just fine - but I am not complacent and neither are you.
Ron Paul and Christianity
I'm an agnostic, not a Christian. But I admire people who genuinely try to live in accordancence with Christian moral principals (which are, in fact, very difficult to live by). This is a very different thing than thumping on the Bible and proclaiming how "saved" you are.
Ron Paul does not wear his religion on his sleeve. But there is no doubt in my mind that Ron Paul is the most Christian candidate running in either party. Sometimes I think he's the only Christian. Would Jesus had argued, as Huckabee did, that if you make a mistake by going into a war that you shouldn't have gone into, that you are honor bound to continue the mistake?
BobW, just have to say 'Thank you!' for your respectful comments
it's actually quite refreshing to read comments such as yours (towards Christians, when you yourself are agnostic). If everyone had your attitude, this country wouldn't be so divided.
You're absolutely right.
Thank you :)
Ron Paul is the ONLY Christian in national politics
You and I share some very similar views on religion, BobW. I agree with you 100% regarding who among the religious are to be esteemed and who ought to be scorned. It really comes down to profession matching practice as in a Mother Teresa versus say, a Reformed evangelical full of creeds and catechisms but wanting in purity, self-denial, love and holiness. "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." 1 John 2:3-4
Spelling
I meant "accordance". Dang, I ought to read the previews.
Good article
Thanks for the article. It is a good read and important information!
Best of luck to you folks out there in Iowa!
God bless.
BTW...I just found out a few days ago that Ron Paul has a brother in Grand Rapids, MI that is a pastor and has a Masters degree in theology.
WOW..

If that doesn't convert a few hard liners, nothing will. Excellent article.
Good stuff -- here's more
I've already forwarded this to a Michigan volunteer who is trying to persuade a pastor to join us -- so thanks for the post! Plus here's an article about Dr. Paul's pastor brother in Grand Rapids that recently made the Nov 2 Detroit News after being published earlier in the Grand Rapids Press: http://www.detnews.com/ap...
Very moving
I liked it.
Pastors for Paul
