Rage is Bad A*ss activist band..
who protest the foreign policies of our big brother govt., corp. media propaganda, & censorship among a host of other issues. (hmmm, doesn't that sound familiar???) Their lyrics are great. The Battle of Los Angeles is an excellent album.

Tom Morello grew up around the corner from me, and he comes into town often to see his mom. I have personally spoken to him about Ron Paul and libertarianism multiple times at the bar. His solo band is called "The Nightwatchman" Says about enough.
I met tom morello a couple years ago at Harpo's in detroit.

RATM is kind of a joke. Of course there concert should not be shut down.
But they are just so much nonsense. They advocate a marixst point of view. Like their song "No Shelter" describing how America was not a sanctuary of freedom as its portrayed in its own myths. True to marxist form, they released this song... on the "Godzilla" soundtrack, complete with samples of Godzilla roaring in the instrumental buildup.
They have some good songs, but I just can't take them very seriously.
