"Universal Soldier"
Aimee Allen's performance of this protest song at the rally at Dr. Paul's request was outstanding. And, Dr. Paul's mention of his personal connection to the song was a truly moving moment that's probably hard to capture on video.

Love that song
I still have my original album by Donovan......I was so impressed that Dr. Paul liked that particular song as well.
For me that was the
For me that was the highlight of the speech. It's such a simple way to describe what govt's do to people to fight wars for their benefit.
Yes,
and didn't he say "I was a universal soldier too"? I really like the man.
Dr. Paul cured my apathy
Yes he did
I love that man. I love him very much. He is so honest and straight forward, it is no wonder the mainstream media and political machine can't tolerate him. He is the exact opposite of everything they are and do.
Alaskaron,
didn't you have breakfast recently with him ? Guess I remember a picture of you and him. Definetly would like to meet him one day.

He's the father of my new Liberty Baby.
Please tell me he doesn't have two heads.
*fingers crossed*

As you can see, I am reasonably normal looking. Or at least not TOO freakish. I think.
Yes; and he is everything you'd expect and more!
I'll try to throw an album of photos together soon, of some highlights of my trip.
Ron Paul is genuinely one of the nicest people in the world. He reminds me in many ways of my own grandfather, who is about the same age and is honest and considerate and yet straightforward.
I met him and Carol
Paul this summer at IUP (Indiana State Univ.) here in PA. Being in his presence was so very special. Got a picture taken with him, and chatted for awhile with Mrs. Paul. The kind of lady we would all love as a mother or grandmother. She appreciates the work women did in the home before they were driven out to earn a second income.
I stayed home with my children and then started my career later - so glad I did. My husband is a producer and although not a professional, always knew how to make money. Buy low, sell high - and NOT stocks!
My grandmother always said "a woman could throw out more on a spoon than a man could bring home on a shovel". Think about that saying - it is so insightful and true.
Yes, guess it would be great
to have the Paul family as relatives or neighbours. Thank for your kind reply.
And sorry for calling you a troll once. I have a red face while writing this reply.
Dr. Paul cured my apathy
Surprised
I was surprised at the convention to hear Aimee Allen sing it, and mention that Ron Paul requested it. I started listening to the song a lot during the Fall last year, and even requested the song be played (via that very same youtube video you linked) on Ron Paul Radio during the Tea Party. It wasn't long before that, that I put my own unadorned version on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/wa...).
Anyway, I really appreciated it at the Rally. I'm glad someone mentioned it on here too! :)
Nicely done
You should be hitting all of the open mics you can find!
Thanks!
