Ron Paul Press Conference
Ron Paul has invited Chuck Baldwin to a press conference
outlining the positions voters should look for when choosing a presidential candidate.
Date: Wednesday, 9/10/08
Time: 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Location: National Press Club, D.C.

I hope Barr gets barred
Trust Baldwin not Barr.
Never trust a preacher.
----
Don't blame me if there's no voice for liberty opposing McCain and Obama in the Presidential debates. I donated to Ron Paul Libertarian, Bob Barr's campaign.
Federalist Fusion?
Also included, according to LewRockwell.com, Bob Barr.
Unity
It seems to be uniting the three interests somehow and giving direction to C4L. I would like to see the three efforts merged into one, preferrably with Dr. Paul as maybe a vp if the Pres. position cannot be changed.
Bob Barr will be there as
Bob Barr will be there as well.
9th or 10th which is correct?
Title says Sept. 9th
Date: says Wed. 9/10
Thanks, Steve!
For all you do!
Both Baldwin and Barr Will Be There
I don't think RP is allowed to endorse anyone - due to sucky politics....
Most Likely RP will direct us and encourage us to find a candidate
in the Third Party (w/o even say 3rd Party) find someone who
we can get behind that is continuing the Freedom Message.
He will remind us of things to think about and look for when choosing
a candidate to vote for. And you can bet your life it will only be for
furthering the Freedom Movement!

OP's title for this thread is misleading.
Here's all the relevant info on this event that I'm aware of:
Chuck Baldwin's site:
http://baldwin08.com/even...
When you look at the information on Chuck Baldwin's site (linked above) it says:
"Ron Paul has invited Chuck Baldwin to a press conference outlining the positions voters should look for when choosing a presidential candidate.
Date: Wednesday, 9/10/08
Time: 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Location: National Press Club, D.C."
http://www.bobbarr2008.co...
And, if you go to Bob Barr's site (linked above) and scroll down the left hand column to "Events" you will see that Bob Barr has the following event scheduled for Sept 10th:
"Joint Press Conference
National Press Club
10:30 am"
http://www.campaignforlib...
Then if you go to the C4L site (linked above) you read this from Jesse Benton:
"ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA – On the heels of his historic three-day rally in Minneapolis that drew over 12,000 attendees, Congressman Ron Paul will make a major announcement next week in Washington at the National Press Club."
So both CB and BB are scheduled to attend the exact same press conference held by the National Press Club on Sept 10th at 10:30 a.m. in which RP will make some big announcement.
And the OP's title for this thread is misleading since it gives the impression that Baldwin was the only candidate invited to the press conference.
at the time Baldwin was the
at the time Baldwin was the only one scheduled. There was no intent to mislead like the barr people do here on a daily basis.
It said on the barr site that he would be at the C4L and the barr people said he was speaking and many of us knew that was a lie.
I still have not confirmed barr speaking at the press conference although Baldwin has been confirmed.

Discrimination by the Debate Organizers
As you may know, the "non-partisan" debate organizers are very partisan. One of their rules is that you must have 15% public support in polls before you can get into the debates. Of course, if you can't get media coverage, that's hard to do.
If you support having someone in the debates to talk about the Constitution, small government and freedom, as ideas, and apply them to the issues of Iraq, foreign policy and the economy, then you can start right now by answering any polling calls by saying you're going to vote for Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin when they ask you (whether you are or not).
Barr is polling higher than Baldwin (due in part to ballot access issues), so he may be the best hope to broaden the debate, but the main thing is to get your friends and family to help you get more voices into the debates even if they don't think they'll vote for them.
IMissLiberty
Probably to help his campaign
which is good. He also had a joint meeting with Barr on Monday. Face it, he is NOT going to endorse either Baldwin nor Barr, not should he endorse either of them. Endorsing one third party candidate over the other will not help the campaign to bring the GOP back to its roots. Paul is going to stay with the GOP. In 2004 his Liberty PAC contributed to both the LP and CP candidates and he spoke at the LP convention. Baldwin is no contact in DC, while Barr has, so it is good to help Baldwin.
If he is there to endorse
If he is there to endorse Baldwin, that will get as much national media attention as one of the five town councilmen in the township near me endorsing who is running for posts such as soil and water commissioner in various states. Well, actually that might get more news as some obscure environmental group that gets 7 hits a day on its web site could put it on line 677 on that days blog entry.

might he be endorsing
might he be endorsing him?
If Ron Paul endorses anyone, that person gets my vote (unless it's McBama).
I dont think so -
As it seems Mr. Barr will be there too.
Yes, He will be endorsing him*
If by the first pronoun you mean Baldwin and by the second you mean Paul. I predict Pastor Baldwin will step aside and allow Dr. Paul to run on the CP ticket. I have no basis in reality for this prediction, however. But a guy's allowed to dream, right?
Chuck Baldwin is a very good man. I have some issues with the Constitution Party platform though.
Could he do that?
If Baldwin were to step aside and allow RP to take his place, would that create any ballot access issues? Just wondering, because I know very little about the process. Certainly an intriguing thought though!
Varies by state
50 states, 50 rules.
Many states have a deadline of something like 45 to 60 days before an election when a candidate can be substituted "at the last minute".
Sadly no...
The Libertarian Party had a placeholder for thier spot on the Pennsylvania ballot before they their nominating convention - and to my knowledge are still fighting off a lawsuit from the McCain camp over Mr. Barr's name replacing the name sigantures were gathered for.
That would be wonderful, but
That would be wonderful, but I'm doubtful it would happen. Since March, Dr. Paul's primary motivation has been to retain his congressional seat. It's likely he could switch parties at this writing and retain it, running unopposed, but I doubt he will. Pity, really.

didn't another party (taxpayer party or something like that) put RP on the ballot as their candidate in Louisiana?....I don't think he has to agree to it.

I don't think so OMG !!!

He needs to do it TOMORROW
He needs to do it TOMORROW so the Revolution can at least have some general guidance. Waiting a week is quite a while when the Presidential debates and election is just around the corner.

that wait
patience is a virtue...
even if this is not a cut n dry endorsement - due to politics... perhaps.
I think it will be very easy to read between the lines!
First of all - RP is "inviting" Baldwin - haven't heard anyone elses name.
Remember also that Chuck Baldwin was and is a dedicated RP supporter.
CB traveled with RP on his campaign trail to speak on behalf of RP in
Iowa and South Carolina - No one else running in this election can say
that.
True..
But Mr. Barr did try to get Ron Paul to run on the LP ticket before running himself. Mr Barr will be at the press conference too.
very cool

How could this not be an
How could this not be an endorsement?
Either Paul is going to endorse Baldwin, or they should both endorse Barr.
But for God's sake, this is ridiculous. We need leadership. We should have had an endorsement already.
Hell, Paul, endorse Nader and I'll order a Nader t-shirt right now! Endorse Chairman Mao, and I'll put a disembodied Mao head bumper sticker on my car!
We actually don't need
We actually don't need leadership from above. We need to lead ourselves.
I will say, unless Dr. Paul endorses Chuck's campaign, he is doing the candidate a great disservice.

No he wont...
But Paul, Baldwin, and Barr will be there - My guess is it will just as youve written it - not an endorsement - just an opportunity to educate voters on what to look for in a candidate.
Apart from the fact that
Apart from the fact that Baldwin is a presidential candidate, why else would he not endorse Barr? His campaign has gone absolutely nowhere, nobody i know of has heard of him, he's never been in politics before and with all the hubbub about palin/obama's inexperience I HIGHLY doubt some pastor from Florida stands a remote chance of becoming our next president.
With the treatment the RNC just gave Ron Paul,
I would not be surprised if he accepted the Baldwin offer to step aside, besides, who would be more appropriate as the nominee of the Constitution party.
