Third party strategy after the elections

All true Ron Paul supporters are united in the campaign for liberty.
Neither the CP nor the LP are expected to win in November, thus the "split" of the Ron Paul support for either Baldwin or Barr should not make a difference, not divided. Both parties have their own strenghts in certain areas. This will be tested and one can look at the totality of the two parties's votes.

After the election Baldwin and Barr should come together IMHO and discuss a merger in a new party, with another party name to really shake things up. I am aware of the differences. The most crucial issue for the CP vs the LP is the pro-life (vs pro-choice/abortion) issue. I think the CP would be able to merge with pro-life Libertarians like Bob Barr and others. The party platform of both parties should be simplified.

My idea for a party name is the "Independence Party". There are already an Independence Party in the stated of Minnesota and New York, so there is already some infrastructure. Independence refer to the original first Revolution and a theme both constitutionalists and libertarians can unite. There would be probably some in both parties that would not be interested in a merger. This is actually god, they can stay in their respective parties, who will (continued) to be seen as marginalised parties. The candidates of the Independence Party in Minnesota has performed quite well in local elections, 20% plus, thus no small "fringe" party, which is important. One can build on a new positive perception. Both the CP and LP is not only unknown with some, but built some negative reputation based on only 1% or 5% and only concentrate on a few issues and it is difficult to get rid of that. The parties can then organize for the 2010 elections and hopefully win some seats.
