Silver State Bank just failed. Bad news for McCain and his son.

For those of you not in the know. McCain's son resigned as Chief financial officer from this bank about 1 month ago.
I also found out that there were $10 million in small business loans given out just before his resignation. They were distributed to 7 small companies that do not publish the names of their officers or owners.
Additionally, a few weeks ago, Silver State bank had exactly $10 million in writedowns due to defaults on small business loans.

It seems a bit odd that a bank on the verge of failing is lending $10 million in small business loans.
And the timing of all this raises a few eye brows.
The added irony that makes this story a made for t.v. package is the Senator's near political death experience when he was linked to Charles Keating and the Savings and Loan scandal of the late 80s and was named as one of the Keating 5.

Nothing on Drudge
Every Sat. since the 1st one fell, Drudge has had the story. I can't find it this one on there. I have always liked the Drudge Report, and still do, but I wonder what McCain did to have this story not posted on there.

BTW, something that will make you sleep better at night is that as of the Monday after the IndyMac takeover, the FDIC had a mere 1.19% of assets of all <$100k deposits, which means if we have a national bank panic a la 1929, and the FDIC doesn't reneg, you'll get a tad more than a penny on the dollar for your "insurance". Source is the FDIC Chairwoman herself on CNBC.

I have read here that some of you had suspected that this bank would fail. Sure was nice of the FED to keep it quiet until McCain got the nomination. Coincidence, I think not.

I won't dig it because it has the HAHAHAHAHA title.
I don't want to see anyone suffer and I don't think it reflects well on the movement to laugh at the failings of others.
The failings of public people can be acknowledged and dugg, but I'm not laughing at it.
