Trusting McCain's Military Mind???
I've noticed that McCain, along with many of the Republicans, have declared that the “surge” has been a success, in fact I have been hearing McCain declare that “we have succeeded militarily”. So McCain, along with his lap dogs Liberman and Graham, are quick to say, in essence, we’ve won, or so it sounds. If we have won, then why are we still there? If we have won then how could we then lose if we bring our troops home? I wonder what will happen when our money no longer buys "peace" among the Sunni and Shittes?
Of course, judging from their words all these years you would think that we have been winning every year our troops have occupied Iraq.
- “Let there be no doubt: victory can be our only exit strategy. We are winning in Iraq.” — Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) [11/5/2003]
- “This is a mission accomplished. They know how much influence Saddam Hussein had on the Iraqi people, how much more difficult it made to get their cooperation.” — Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) [This Week, ABC, 12/14/03]
- I “can report real progress there… Progress is visible and practical… Does America have a good plan for doing this, a strategy for victory in Iraq? Yes we do.” — Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) [11/29/2005]
“The last two weeks have been critically important and I believe may be seen as a turning point in the war in Iraq and the war on terrorism.” — Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) [12/17/2005]
In 2006 McCain had this to say: “I think one of the biggest mistakes we made was underestimating the size of the task and the sacrifices that would be required, stuff happens, mission accomplished, last throes, a few dead-enders. I’m just more familiar with those statements than anyone else because it grieves me so much that we had not told the American people how tough and difficult this task would be.”
Strange, but back in 2002 leading up to the invasion of Iraq, McCain, the great military mind had a totally different view:
“Because I know that as successful as I believe we will be, and I believe that the success will be fairly easy, we will still lose some American young men or women.” [CNN, 9/24/02]
“We’re not going to get into house-to-house fighting in Baghdad. We may have to take out buildings, but we’re not going to have a bloodletting of trading American bodies for Iraqi bodies.” [CNN, 9/29/02]
“But the point is that, one, we will win this conflict. We will win it easily.” [MSNBC, 1/22/03]

McCain went to war but he never came back.
Some years ago, when I was in a relationship with a Vietnam Veteran, I experienced first hand what it can mean for someone to have been in the war over there.
My partner's ongoing pain of having been there, having seen what he saw, having done what he did, these expereriences of his going there put a permanent stamp on the rest of his emotional life.
When it all became too much I wrote a poem, not so much for him as well for myself to come to terms with losing him.
The last line of the poem was:
Trevor returned home from the war but he never came back.
For McCain it seems, he has been fighting ever since he went to Vietnam but can't let it go, he will do anything to go again, it's like the mind of a sociopath.
regarding McStain
To me, it seems if you elect a career military person, combined with a career politician... well... they seek two things. To fight wars, and to control others. Good thing about that, is you can control others by fighting wars. And what is the two things a career military politician has always known? Fighting war, and controlling others.
It's not hard to figure out what they are going to do over and over when in office. A career military person doesn't want to find ways to help farmers come up with ways to farm in a drought. He wants to blow some stuff up. it's what he's done his whole life.
So why does America always seem like someone having been in the military, means they are best suited for running this country? It's because American's love war, we love attacking the "bad guys" and we want someone like McCain. Someone who, like you said, came home from the war, but never came back.
I can't wait for McCain to ruffle Russia's feathers. I've been so sad since the cold war ended... it's been so lonely not having a big time enemy to fear on a day to day basis. I don't know how to function as an American without having a "real" enemy to fight.
Well, he did graduate # 894
Well, he did graduate # 894 out of 899 students in his class at the US Naval Academy.
yeah and # 892 was the guy that invented that disasterous

Ininfity Wars
The name that will be given to the decades of non-stop war. HOW much sense does that make.
"If we bring the troops home we lose" WTF.
So we will never bring them home don't you see! Forever war forever.
"Americas honor" more like Americas greed. Blood lust might be to harsh.
The Theory of Continual
The Theory of Continual "Revolution" is a doctrine of the forefather of the Neo-Conservative movement: Leo Trotsky, that RED COMMIE BASTARD. Every Neo-Con, including McCain is a direct descendent of that COMMIE IDEOLOGY.
The Neo-Cons were once Leftist in the Democratic Party and infiltrated the Republican Party back in the late 60s and early 70s. Between the Neo-Con COMMIES in the Republican Party and the Leftist COMMIEs in the Democratic Party this government has been compromised by THE ENEMY!
“Men do not willingly read unpalatable truths of themselves. The people like those best who fool them most by pandering to their vices and flattering their foibles”—Admiral Raphael Semmes.
Ask this question
"Then why aren't the troops coming home?"

where's that teleprompter ?
Am I the only person
that is completely freaked out that the republican party wants to give the thermonuclear suitcase to a guy who spent 6 years in a POW camp?
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."
