I decide to bait Ventura, offering that some of the 9/11 Truthers in the crowd are disappointed their viewpoints aren't being represented.
"They will when I get up there," he growls. He says he's been studying the issue "for well over a year and a half," and he feels "very strongly that the truth has not been forthcoming."
When asked what the truth is and whether the government had something to do with it, he says, "I don't know. But I know this, I do have somewhat of a demolition background, being a member of the Navy's underwater demolition team, and I spoke to a few of my teammates a couple weeks ago. We're all in agreement that buildings can't fall at the rate of gravity without being assisted. And that's called physics, that's not an opinion."
This pretty much puts to bed the idea that Ventura is anything other than a full-blown 9-11 Truther.

It depends
on how you define the term "911 trurther". Note that Ventura has consistently said he does not say 911 was a "govt. inside job". He said it is possible, e.g. leave the room open for it, but he does NOT say all evidence point to this. He said he does not know. His words are being shewed by Alex Jones & Co. so as to suggest Jesse Ventura is a 911 truther.

Something for the 911 truthers to think about: suppose one does not agree with the official building 7 story and say it was a demolition, it could always be that of some secrative group, perhaps some inside the CIA that knew an attack was going to happen at some time and therefore planted it with explosives before. This does NOT necessarily means the govt, the administration behind it. It could be a separate group with perhaps some contacts in the govt. but NOT the govt. themselves. So you have to be cautious.....

I support Ventura as a future candidate, regardless of his so-called "Truther" stance (which I believe is overstating the case anyway). He has far more pluses than minuses.

Besides, such a thing would never be able to remain hidden. Never! Our government has trouble keeping ANY secrets hidden, much less the events leading up to and occurring on 9/11.

Wait but in no controlled demolition does a building fall at the rate of gravity, either. So how, pray tell, would TPTB engineer an event which is physically unprecedented?
This leaves two possibilities - 1) TPTB have overengineered the problem (using untested techniques) to try too hard to make it look like something natural, leaving us an avenue to figure out what's going on. Or 2) whoever says that WTC towers "fell at the rate of gravity" is simply misinformed.
You can't argue that something that breaks the laws of physics implies conspiracy, because conspirators are not more powerful than the laws of physics, either.
Whatever you feel about 9/11 being a conspiracy theory or not, Jesse is clearly off his rocker, and chasing a red herring.

That day
That day when I sat watching live TV coverage with dried shaving creme on my face, I knew something was wrong when the first bldg went down. It just didn't make sense as I watched it fall. I said to myself, this is a demolition. Something is wrong here. Then number two went down - the exact same way. Then number three (bldg 7) went down and it wasn't even hit.
That day I was in shock at what I had witnessed. The planes and then the strategic and carefully executed demolition(s). I felt the attack was orchestrated and planned by terrorists AND others. My thoughts have only become stronger as I have learned more. Damn it, I want to know who was responsible for this.
I'm not an explosives expert, but I have watched hundreds of controlled and planned building demolitions on video in my lifetime because I find them fascinating, always have. the randomness of the planes and the fires were overshadowed by the precision of the demolition(s).

...this statement says absolutely nothing. It's nothing but political rhetoric.
I'll not take a position one way or the other, but as someone in the structural design field, from what I saw from the camera shots, and from what I read within the engineering field, the collapse of the buildings were consistent with structural failure resulting from excessive heat. I also know for a fact that the structural insulation used in the buildings ( I'm talking about the structural steel framework of the buildings ), while not actually sub-standard, was not rated for the amount of heat generated from the burning jet fuel. Building codes did not require it, but, yes, the buildings could have been better engineered and designed so that a disaster of this magnitude may have been prevented.

How could gravitational energy alone allegedly eject laterally thousand pound steel structural members and quarter-inch human bone fragments some five hundred ft. and apparently vaporize 1,151 human beings such that no forensically identifiable remains could be recovered?
To pretend that gravitational potential energy could account for this massive and widespread destruction, one must assume that the Twin Towers were basically ticking time bombs waiting to "collapse" since their inception.

Each WTC tower has about 100 tons of TNT worth of gravitational potential energy based on a back of the envelope calculation.
When you have an inelastic collision, most of that energy becomes heat, minus off a lot of stuff for scattering dust, debris, etcetera. There's still a lot of energy left over that just becomes heat.

My own education had almost nothing to do with engineering...I just had the basics of college physics, chemistry, biology. So I have almost no experience to back this up, but here's what I would expect a collapsing building to do...given a plane crash, heat, buckling, etc:
I'd expect structural resistance to slow down the collapse at random moments, a hesitation here, a loud groan of buckling steel there. I'd expect the falling parts to shift laterally, maybe fall to the left or right as they seek the path of least resistance. And as a result, the whole event would seem disorganized, staggered, and unpredictable.
Instead, when you watch the events, the buildings appear to erupt with the advancing front of destruction racing, uninterupted, down the building with perfect symmetry.
I'm not a big fan of the way 9/11 truthers present themselves as bugged-eyed crazed fanatics, but I can see why they are so disturbed. In my own paranoid conspiracy world, I don't think the Bush administration or the military designed this event; I think it was handed to them by the perpetrators, who used the 19 hijackers and 4 planes the way a magician uses theatrics to disguise his slight of hand techniques.
Would life on Earth benefit from knowing the true identities of the perpetrators and bringing them to justice? I just don't know. It's possible that they have our best interests at heart, ultimately. Like a surgeon who kills the cancer to save the patient.

First of all, I absolutely do not know! I have no magic access to ultimate truth. But I do know a few things about life on earth. Let's take artificial selection, for example, which we've been using effectively to produce some wonderful animals...the domestic cow, the labrador retriever, etc.
Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. If the human race is about to choke to itself death through over-population and over-consumption of the earth's finite resources, then it would be reasonable to put a one world government into position to effect the changes needed to preserve life for the foreseeable future and to improve the human condition.
An important part of the artificial selection process is to eliminate the undesired phenotypes from the breeding pool. In other words, a whole bunch of non-ideal puppies were slaughtered to effectively breed the labrador retriever...which has to be in the top 5 of God's most beautiful creations!
The 3000 or so deaths on 9/11 are a small drop in the bucket of the deaths we're facing now and about to face in the near future.

When was
The last time you saw a steel building fall from a fire? And why hasn't your kerosine lantern ever exploded or melted? Jet fuel is almost identical in burning temperature to kerosine...
Oh, for crying out loud.
Burning kerosene with a wick in a lantern tells you nothing about how it behaves in much larger quantities.
You can melt steel with bubblegum or tires if you ventilate it enough. Anyone who's ever worked on a forge can tell you that plain old charcoal can get hot enough to melt steel if you don't know what you're doing and you give it too much air.
And to answer your question, the last time I saw a steel building collapse due to fire was the same time that you did: on September 11, 2001.
Watch some video of controlled demolitions, and then watch the WTC collapse. If you can't see the difference between them, then you simply don't WANT to see the difference.
