Use your heads for something more than occupying space at the top of your body
I have been on the daily paul closing in on a year now... I have come a long way in that short time and I have many to thank for opening my eyes to a slew of topics.
From the evils of Abraham Lincoln, the inside information surrounding the primary in New Hampshire to the Club Jager in Minneapolis. The Daily Paul has been a great resource for information that is second to none when it comes to the Revolution and freedom loving individuals.
I have done my best to contribute as much information to the discussion as I could, although many of my ideas have slipped off into oblivion soon after I first posted.
Today my contribution is once again to get people thinking and hopefully to action. I think it's obvious to most that the main stream media has been corrupted, and even when information gets out ignorance and apathy qwell what would otherwise be earthshattering information.
The point I'd like to make is for those who are waiting for the disaster to happen... it already has. There is little time for discussion... the first shots have been fired and we are in a battle for the future of this country. Some feel we have time... but I'm telling you... don't think we have allot of time because we don't. This government could be days away from clamping down on what is left of our freedoms and it could be tomorrow that even the simpliest things... like logging onto the Daily Paul is a thing of the past.
Let's take for example threats to our lives. We are spending nearly a trillion dollars a year to fight a War that is make-believe how many people have died from terrorist attacks? Hundreds? Thousands...if you include the last ten years. If you drive a car... 40,000+ people died in car accidents last year alone. If you visit your doctor 120,000+ people died from misdiagnosis or simple mistakes last year. And probably twice that died because their insurance company refused to pay for their treatment. Add to that millions of non-violent people placed behind bars... Are you starting to get the picture I'm painting?
During World War 2 we lost 800,000 men and women... an number we could easily reach annually if we really looked into what is going on in this country right now... flouride, vacines, medical malpractice and "accidents", experiments on our soldiers, DU, and a thousand other things are all costs that are not being properly acknowledged... a World War is raging right under our noses...right now... and the enemy is right in front of us... our very own government flanked to the left by the multinational corporations and the main stream media! And this War has been going on for many years... but the skirmish is about to break in to full blow disaster!

I'm sure some will dismiss this... "people die" but I beg you to consider the idea... our water is polluted... our food is polluted... the air is polluted... and all because the products that we don't need and can't pay for are available on every corner.
It's time to get active, it's time to Wake up the neighbors, it's time to get serious... time is of the essence!

Well I have learned the
Well I have learned the error of my ways. I see this materialism crap for what it is finally. I have worked so hard the last couple of years to pile debt onto myself. Next year my cars will be paid off finaly and I will be starting on other debt then. Hopefully in 5 years I will have everything but the house paid off and then i'll probably owe only about 60k or less on it. I do plan on buying some land out in the country and building a small house to live out my retirement. I will more than likely have all of this in place before I reach 50. After I finish paying for my land I'll more than likely take it easy and not work so much. I have a job were I can pretty much get as many hours as I want but I usually spend 9 months a year away from my family and on our coastal waters. I do not plan on working that much my whole life. The minute I get out of debt i'll scale the work back that I do because I feel its my God given right to not pay for some crack heads child. I am ashamed and saddened for what my country has become and sure hope it will change in the future. The change in the future will not take place until this society totally collapses though because people today are caught in some sort of fairy tale of the worlds creation. The consuming and me mentality will never work and its that attitude that brought Rome to its knee's.
Interesting post
I recently read the book "Affluenza"....Though I completely disagree with the author's suggestion for how to "fix" this problem, I do agree that we are addicted to stuff in this country.
I was kind of already on that path but now am more determined than ever to stop supporting as many of the big corporations as possible.
Example: Rather than working more hours now, I'm working less to spend more time in my garden and more time with the family. This accomplishes several things at once: 1) I'm getting excercise to keep my body strong, 2) I make less money and so pay less to FedGov 3) I get a MUCH better quality of food 4) I am learning something that will serve my family well when times get rough, 5) I am NOT supporting non-sustainable agriculture and NOT supporting large corporations including: big ag, big trucking/shipping, big retailers, big chemical, big oil, etc. 6) by not eating imported/shipped foods, I'm not contributing to the need for the NAFTA Superhighway or any of these other so-called transportation projects that take people's homes and land for highway expansion.
Overall, I do believe that our country has been overtaken without the first shot having been fired. My actions (the example above is only one of the many changes we have made) will not make any difference in the grand scheme of things, but I take them because it is what I think is right.
Our population is so accustomed to getting more and more stuff with no one actually paying the bill....People now belive that they have a "right" to all kinds of things just becsue they are in America...with no thought as to how it gets paid for. I believe this is what the FedGov wants....A nation of needy people that have absolutely no idea how to get their hands dirty and do for themselves.
We are on the path to self-destruction in this country, and the velocity seems to be increasing. Not only are things getting worse, they're getting worse FASTER every year.
While in MN, I had the opportunity to hear RP speak a couple of times.....I spoke with others that had heard him even more than I . Seems that at every speech he stressed a sense of urgency. He has made many correct predictions in the past.....Now I'm wondering what it is that he's predicting that we can't see....?
