Hamilton v. Jefferson 2008: I'm Complete with the C4L

I joined the Campaign for Liberty almost immediately after its announcement, changing the link in my email signature to campaignforliberty.com from ronpaul2008.com. Still, as the days ticked off the calendar, my gut told me something was off. I wasn’t sure what the C4L was going to do. What was the plan? What were the methods they would use to promote liberty? I read the website and, while it reflected Ron Paul’s message, I couldn’t find any definition of how the C4L intended to act.

I began hearing stories from individuals involved with the C4L. People who felt ostracized, people with inspiring grassroots projects rejected for funding requests and leaders within the grassroots who felt downright shut out by the C4L.

I immediately began to see a pattern of perceived dependence on the C4L. It seemed, somehow, a group of inspired grassroots leaders were looking for the C4L to tell them what to do next. With eyes turned to the sky looking for the proverbial “Bat Signal” we were waiting for marching orders, and when we raised questions and didn’t get the answers we wanted we became embittered, disappointed and disempowered. This is what I saw coming down the road for the Ron Paul grassroots movement in relationship with the Campaign for Liberty and I felt compelled to break the spell. I wanted to get the opposite message out: I don’t need the Campaign for Liberty to spread Ron Paul’s message, and I don’t believe you do either. I intended on writing an article for the Daily Paul on just that thesis. I waited however to see how things shook out at the Rally for the Republic.

My feelings of bearishness for the Campaign for Liberty grew by the time I got to Minnesota. I intended on skipping the leadership summit they hosted. Some friends in the grassroots encouraged me to attend and to voice my concern and establish a new direction for the C4L. I sat in and listened to Ron Paul open the summit and John Tate, Executive Director, give his presentation as well. It didn’t take long for the division between the grassroots and the C4L to show. Many individuals spoke out against the top-down management structure of the C4L. Others supporting the C4L’s management offered their opinion as well.

The main concern about the C4L among many grassrooters is with the idea of a centralized top-down leadership structure. It’s anathema to one dedicated to transforming our soul-killing behemoth of a monolithic federal government. We believe the flaws inherent in the top-down model make it the wrong model for this group. Effective leaders are servants whose role it is to remove barriers for those they lead. The opportunity for the C4L is to enact the role of servant leadership. The impression many have about the C4L (myself included) is that this is not the intention.

I heard multiple times from the C4L during the leadership event that “all options are still on the table” so it’s possible we may see some significant change here; a move toward a more bottom-up approach. Given their stated goals and methods I believe it’s unlikely we’ll see those changes. Either way, only time will tell. I for one can only follow my gut, and my gut tells me to expect inefficiency and road blocks where there could be efficiency and empowerment.

I got up and left the event. There was nothing more for me to gain from being there – not in terms of my mission. Outside another gentleman and I confronted John Tate, Executive Director of the C4L. This fellow, visibly upset, addressed Mr. Tate, who, to his credit, kept his cool in the face of a number of disappointed dissenters during and after his presentation. The two of them argued for a bit until a woman stepped in on John’s behalf and the other gentleman backed off in what seemed to me frustration from the whole matter. I turned to John, looked him in the eye and shook his hand. I gave him credit for his patience and composure and told him he had a tough job. Then I told him, straight out, that the approach he was taking to running the C4L was the wrong model and that they would fail.

Later that day I decided that “fail” is the wrong word. The C4L isn’t going to fail. It’s going to be inefficient. And that frustrates me. I believe the grassroots and the actions and love of individuals catapulted Ron Paul’s presidential campaign to the level of success it achieved. I believe that energy is best harnessed when minimal control is placed on top of it. The more control one group has over the masses the more creative energy is dulled.

I don’t like that they have the campaign’s money we donated. I don’t like that they have Dr. Paul’s name attached. I don’t like that they’re competing with many in the grassroots for funding and mindshare. I do believe in freedom and the market place of ideas and I trust the market to provide. If the naked grassroots, sans the C4L, offers better ideas and machinery for achieving our ends, we’ll get all the support we need and more.

So, while I’m sad that the C4L is a missed opportunity (for now and in its current form) in terms of maximized effectiveness and efficiency, it still serves a purpose. It will have an effect and I believe that effect will be positive for the message of liberty.

For my part, I believe I don’t need them to spread the good word. I don’t need them to be a stand for liberty. I don’t need their money and I don’t need their name. My attention is fixed on promoting the “End the Income Tax” initiative here in my state, and after that on my liberty project for 2009, “Tipping the Balance.”

My conclusion is thus: I’m ready to leave the C4L alone. Sound familiar? It was one of the Revolution’s campaign taglines (“Ron Paul Is Ready to Leave You Alone”). The C4L is what it is and their offer to “take it or leave it” is clear. They’re going to do what they’re going to do, just like the official presidential campaign did what they were going to do. I can respect their choice even if I don’t agree with it.

Consider this: Tuesday night, after the Rally for the Republic wrapped up, I attended the official after party. As I was leaving I saw John Tate out front. I shook his hand, gave him an opportunity to express himself and treated him with the utmost respect. In the end, if we don’t allow others the freedom to make their choices, own those choices and own our ability to respond powerfully for our own lives in the face of their choices, then our battle for liberty is for not.

I am a sovereign individual with awesome power and so are you. So if you’re in the “leave it” camp with me, I invite you to move forward with your inspiration and express your love of liberty as an individual. Follow that, believe in it (whatever it is) and don’t surrender. For those patriots in the “take it” camp, bless you and carry the banner of liberty forward in Dr. Paul’s name with integrity.

I complete myself with the Campaign for Liberty and I set it free. My destiny lays somewhere else and I intend on expressing it fully and from a place of love and power for my country and all of you.

Yours in liberty,

Todd Michael Fay

With all the Current EconoBabble from both “Conservative” McCain & Obama, and all the BUSHIT from “W”, it is refreshing to see that a REAL PATRIOT has the ONLY solution:

To ABOLISH THE SOURCE OF ALL THE DEBT - the privately owned “Federal” Reserve Bank!

I interviewed Congressman Ron Paul this morning about HR 2755 - The Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act - which will be rebroadcast this weekend.

Hey Folks Trust me on this

Hey Folks Trust me on this ONE !! We deserve to whine a bit!! I am totally serious..

some of you have no idea...it was a relief that this person made this post. I have been holding it in for a long time.

Thank you thank you thank

Thank you thank you thank you. I got slandered by top leadership In CL 4 to my client.

I only tried to sort out a difficult situation and they completely dragged me through the mud..for speaking the truth.

There are many things wrong with that campaign and unfortunately it isn't because of Dr. Paul except for that he is just too darn nice!!!

Thanks for speaking up..I feel so much less like I have been ostrasized from Dr. Paul and the Campaign..

Your absolutely Right.. We started this!! We can do whatever we want!! and raise more money for it!!

Look what Trevor Lyman did.

I am with you!!

Liberty Girl

Truthfully, I'm glad you said it

I am not in communication with the "leadership" and I get a very distinct sense that feedback is not appreciated within the C4L. I want to also say, I felt the same way before when it was Ron Paul for President. It is almost impossible to have any impact or communicate with the campaign. The people who consider themselves in charge are not interested in utilizing the talents and energies available, but rather are more intent on firmly exercising their authority.

The concept of freedom lovers acting as a unit is flawed in its conception because their is a certain ungovernable quality to individualism. Having said that, we all very much want to unite in our actions and become a part of a larger effort for the sake of effectiveness. I don't know who runs the C4L, but I hope that they will consider opening up the organization for greater accessibility by the members to advice, resources, and assistance with coordination.

I think this would best be achieved with the appointment of a Steering Committee whose function would be to remain in communication with the membership, and to direct efforts at the state and local levels. Representatives on the committee could be assigned districts and a standardized procedure could be established for the purpose of facilitating inclusion of grassroots feedback and initiatives. A hierarchy of volunteer strength would give even the most sporadic supporter an opportunity to contribute time and ideas. Just a suggestion which I hope may have an impact, because I really don't want to just walk away.

Steering Committee

Great idea, I like it a lot

I think they need to be strict about their message

Ron Paul didn't stand a chance this year, and the main reason is the 911 truthers. I loathe these people for what they did to this campaign.

I hold them all responsible

you are so wrong!

without the 9/11 faithful there would be NO camaign! and A LOT less money in those money bombs...the truth will come out and you will come around...good luck until then blaming others for your lack of work!

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

I will second that!

Truth must surface out just like the truth about the Federal Reserve. Most people never knew about this stuff until Ron Paul's campaign and all those that came together with their differences made this movement what it is right now!

so true

leave the truthers alone! we all have our roles which is exactly what is pointed out here!

HOW TO FIX THE ECONOMY

CHANGE THE SYSTEM, NOT JUST THE FACES

a plan to replace the Federal Reserve system, get rid of the IRS and involuntary taxation, start paying off the National Debt, and improve `social security` for everyone by replacing our OLD economic system with a NEW system based on a new U.S. currency to replace Federal Reserve Debt-Money, a small, voluntarily-paid debit tax to replace the Federal Income Tax and the IRS, and equi-dollar `justified compensation` to replace corporate and personal welfare programs

As many of us were forced to learn in our Quality Improvement classes at work, the problem is never a person, a party, or `the people`. The problem is always THE SYSTEM. Unless (and until) we fix THE SYSTEM, the same bad things will keep happening, over and over. The fault lies not with the borrowers and the banks who profitted from THE SYSTEM (and then lost their shirts), but with our ancestors for allowing this SYSTEM to get set up, and with ourselves for letting this SYSTEM continue incentivizing our own destruction.

The primary problem with the OLD SYSTEM is that the tool that we use to facilitate exchange (Federal Reserve Debt-Money) intentionally leaks its purchasing power into the pockets of the rich like a bucket with a hole in the bottom leaks water. The Fed dollar currently buys about 5% or less of what it bought in 1913 when the Federal Reserve System first sprang from Satan`s loins. The vanishing value of those dollars goes, finally, to our international banking owners in the form of interest payments on personal and governmental loans. (To view a video that makes the problems inherent in our use of the Fed`s Debt-Money much clearer, do an online search for `Zeitgeist Fed`.)

Congress` creation of the Federal Reserve System in 1913 was the equivalent of giving every taxpayer a vampire bat to keep as a pet. There is NO BENEFIT AT ALL in having a Central Bank (well, none for us) compared to having the U.S. Treasury print and distribute our own debt-free money to ourselves. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE between having a central bank or not, is that ``One system costs us 95% of our wealth every hundred years and puts us and our posterity into mind-boggling debt until the end of time``... and the other doesn`t.

So the first thing we need for our NEW SYSTEM is our own, debt-free U.S. Government fiat currency, backed by all the property within the nation`s borders. Obviously I disagree with those who insist that `only gold is real money`. The hoarding of gold-backed money has led to and prolonged many U.S. economic depressions which explains why the U.S. has tried and abandoned `the gold standard` many times over the years. (One of the most famous speeches in U.S. history, William Jenning Bryan`s `Cross of Gold` speech, concerned this very subject.) ``Bad money drives out good`` means people will always wind up using as money whatever has the least actual value that will still be accepted by others to facilitate trade. (Back in the 1800`s they would use as money just about any slip of paper with numbers printed on it.) Debt-Free fiat money will work just as well as Federal Reserve fiat Debt-money, but without all the nasty side-effects.

Another problem with the OLD SYSTEM is that income-based taxation creates wasteful tax avoidance behavior, requires an expensive tax reporting industry and an intrusive collection bureaucracy, and is, arguably, a form of `involuntary servitude`. Under our NEW SYSTEM, we should replace all income-related taxes with a one-half percent, automatically-collected electronic transfer tax (also known as a `debit tax`) which will be avoidable by transacting business using cash or barter. This will not only rid us of the IRS (saving the billions currently spent on `tax reporting`), it will also end the current penalization of work and entrepreneurism, as well as freeing up untold billions currently spent on `tax avoidance`. A debit tax is `more just`, corresponding closely with ``benefits previously-obtained`` rather than penalizing labor and industriousness, and (as it can be legally avoided, even if only inconveniently so) this debit tax can be considered ``voluntarily-paid``. A small electronic transfer tax will also act to discourage excessive short-term market speculation and should be able to raise enough revenue to begin paying off the National Debt. The tax should be either paid with the new debt-free money or exchanged for it by the Treasury with the Fed money being used to help retire the National Debt.

``There are two kinds of property. Firstly, natural property -- such as the earth, air, water. Secondly, artificial or acquired property -- Equality of natural property is the subject of this essay. Every individual in the world is born with legitimate claims on a certain kind of property, or its equivalent...{government Privatization of Property} has dispossessed half the inhabitants of every nation of their natural inheritance, without providing for them...an indemnification for that loss. In advocating the case of the persons thus dispossessed, it is a right, and not a charity, that I am pleading for.`` --- excerpted from ``Agrarian Justice`` by Tom Paine, 1797

As argued by Tom Paine back in 1797, the third problem with the OLD SYSTEM is that, because governments privatize all of their claimed property (allocating it however they like), everyone winds up being denied free access to all property (other than that which has been specifically allocated to them) without being compensated for that loss. That`s not a problem for those with access to capital and property ownership, but for the rest of us, it is totally unfair and creates a slanted playing field upon which wealth gravitates to the already wealthy and the well-connected. However governments allocate their property, every method has the same result of `denial to everyone of free access to all land`. It has taken 200 years for this injustice to be acknowledged in a place and time where something can be done about it and when events have conspired to make rectification not only justice, but action vital to our economic survival. Just as compensation for eminent domain takings are provided for in the 5th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, governments should provide compensation for denying everyone `right of free access to all property`. The U.S. is the place to do it, and now is the time.

Thus, in order to remedy this third problem of the OLD SYSTEM, we must elect a Congress that will PAY EVERY LEGAL U.S. RESIDENT `Adequate and Equal Compensation for Denial of Free Access to U.S. Property`, compensation which can FUNCTIONALLY REPLACE ALL FORMS OF PERSONAL AND CORPORATE WELFARE AND SUBSIDIES, including rescinding Federal Minimum Wage laws and phasing-out the Social Security system. (Once everyone is getting `Denial of Free Access` compensation their whole lives, most people will be able to save enough to be able to comfortably cease working at some point in their lives.)

Our NEW SYSTEM should pay $1000 per month (of our new, non-Fed, non-Debt-Money) to every legal adult resident. Compensation for minors should be held in a trust fund to avoid incentivizing `baby factories`. Since everyone gets the same amount of compensation, this plan is not wealth redistributive, but will give the least wealthy the biggest relative monthly percentage increase of wealth. Because when people HAVE something, they have something to lose, we can expect a reduction in all sorts of crime under our NEW SYSTEM. I also expect the social gains to snowball once the viciousness of the OLD SYSTEM starts getting unwound.

Benefits of the NEW SYSTEM should include better childcare, less poverty, less crime, more rural homesteading, better maintained urban areas, less intrusive and cheaper government with lower military-related expenses and a safer world in general. Once this NEW SYSTEM gets going, I expect residents of other countries will insist their governments either copy our NEW SYSTEM or else apply for U.S. statehood as Texas did in 1845.

HOUSING/CREDIT...Anyone who thinks we can `prop up` housing prices without `propping up` the incomes of everyone necessary to support those housing prices is selling you the same snake oil that got us into this mess. Our NEW SYSTEM will actually prop up housing prices (and contribute to better maintained properties) better than any other plan once home prices get back to affordable levels. No other plan that I`ve heard of will do anything but make things worse.

HEALTH CARE...Regarding the overly-expensive and underly-effective U.S. Health Care `system`, the AMA and FDA work to constrain competition in order to maximize the medical and pharmaceutical industries` ability to extort unconscionable prices for services and substances that should be affordable out-of-pocket. We need to train up thousands more doctors and other healthcare professionals and to decriminalize and unbridle access for adults to WHATEVER drugs adults want, obtained from WHATEVER source adults decide thay want to obtain them, for WHATEVER purpose those adults wish to use them, and let the market work to make prices of normal medical help and pharmacology affordable. (Cuba has 4 times as many doctors as we do (per capita), and medical treatment over there is DIRT cheap.)

OUR ADDICTION TO CHEAP OIL...If we are serious about wanting to get the USA to kick its `crude (oil) habit`, we need to have Congress add on a 10% surcharge at the gas pump (bumping it up another 10% every six months) and rebate the surcharge revenue in monthly equi-dollar amounts to every registered car OWNER, regardless of how much or little they drive. That causes the biggest oil consumers to subsidize everyone else with no BOTTOMLINE cost to taxpayers or consumers. The surcharge will incentivize cheaper alternatives to rapidly come to market and we will soon implement and use them, no government mandate required.

HERE`S WHAT I NEED FROM YOU...Seriously consider whether the OLD SYSTEM of incalcuable debt, of more and more wealth held in fewer and fewer hands, and more and more people in worse and worse shape, is really the direction we want to continue going. Then consider whether moving to a NEW SYSTEM deserves serious discussion. If you agree that it does, then please join me in creating a mass write-in campaign to bring these ideas to the attention of everyone in America. With both major parties fielding such good people who are such BAD candidates, this election seems like the ideal time to vote for REAL CHANGE, not just new faces. I will be registered as a Write-In Candidate for U.S. President in Michigan and in any other states where I get help with the registering process (volunteers are needed to help with that). A write-in vote for Alan Jacquemotte will be a vote for taking back our country and our lives from the banks, the government, and the IRS, and for saving America from a looming Depression. If you agree that we need to at least talk about this nationally, then you need to WRITE-IN your vote this November and pass this message along to two or more people every day until then (or, even better, to everyone you know right now, and then meet more people and tell them). If everyone contacted spreads the word to just two other people every day, over one billion people can be reached within 30 days. I know we can do this. alan

ps. I support Ron Paul`s 4 Principles recently agreed to by all of the 3rd Party candidates.

any questions?

Committees of Safety

Dr. Edwin Vieira National Broadcast -Committees of Safety

What is a "Committee of Safety"?
Many Committees of Safety were established throughout Colonial America at the start of the American Revolution. These committees started to appear in the 1760s as means to discuss the concerns of the time, and often consisted of every male adult in the community. The local militias were usually under the control of the committees, which in turn sent representatives to county- and colony-level assemblies to represent their local interests.

my only connection with a committee of safety...

here in tennessee is from my own research of our county history...

on December 5th, 1850 the local committe of safety, in conjunction with local law enforcement force marched 1300 slaves 15-20 miles in the winter snow (men, women, and children) to the county seat where they were made to stand all night in a town square square illuminated with torches while 5 of their numbers were beheaded and their heads impaled on pine stakes and 4 others were lynched to quell a supposed slave insurgencey...all through the night, as they stood, babies cried, mothers wept and men probably vowed to someday get justice

i guess their are bad C'sOS, too

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

Well stated

I have also simply cut ties, all ties. I am about LIBERTY, TRUTH and bringing JUSTICE to the citizens of this nation.
Any further advice to "not make waves" because it is dangerous will be called the cowardice it is.
Any further attempts to muddy the truth to "not look crazy" will be met with the craziest look I can muster - if defending TRUTH is crazy than I will be PROUD to be an absolute psychopath.
Anyone who wishes to dilute the criminal behavior of the occupants of the White House is no friend of mine.

When the Constitution is restored, when the citizens of this nation know the TRUTH about 9-11 and all the other false flag attacks, when the Nazi ties of the Bush family are exposed, then we can play "politics."

I cannot believe Ron Paul supporters are walking around pretending we have to get ready for an election. If we take the McBama bait, we lose. Even the C4L refuses to name the real issue. THE MEDIA STOLE OUR ELECTION ALREADY. And all of you are ready to wait for 2 or 4 years to "try again?" To try WHAT? The same damn thing we just tried, lead by the same people?

This is MY FIGHT now. I sincerely hope I find MANY OTHERS have stood to fight alone but I will not stand down.

I'm with you!

I'm beginning to see another conspiracy right here and I don't like having that suspicion confirmed; but we all need to "see" the truth for ourselves and quit looking for others for all the answers. I looked up your message and confirmed it for myself, I've followed other posters links to videos and other articles, never taking on full face value all that has been posted here. WE ALL MUST CONTINUE OUR EDUCATION, from whatever source derived, to see the truth. I happen to support 9-11 questions and I support the efforts to impeach Bush and Cheney, but without doing my own research, I'm no different than the sleeping masses buying into the rhetoric spewed out by the mainstream news sources.

I don't think

Fortune Favors the Bold

The CFL is meant to discourage grassroots efforts. It will be a top-down thing perhaps, but there will still be plenty of grassroots activism.

I don't see the problem with trying both approaches simultaneously.

I agree with you.

I agree with you. This was an op ed really, just stating my disappointment about the approach (and to voice it for the rest of us who feel the same way).

I went up to John Tate during a break at the CFL Leadership Summit and asked if the CFL was going to be a non-partisan effort he said yes. I said I was glad to hear it.

I think we should give them a break and give them a chance. I thought the website tools, etc. looked great! They are trying to put a lot in place in a very short time. It looked to me like they had thought of everything. Time will tell how it all works out, but I for one will give it my best shot and encourage you all to do the same.

IamVoting4RonPaul and good catch.

Todd Michael Fay, you have been a member of DP for slightly over 5 weeks?? Do you think perhaps your submission here might be a tad presumptuous, self-indulgent, self-aggrandizing, etc. under any circumstances, particularly so considering the preceding fact.

Just curious, do you have a degree in Poly Sci?

The Revolution needs all manner of individuals contributing in all manner of ways to the cause of re-establishing the premise that supremacy of the individual is the best, wisest, natural and only moral principle to achieve the greatest degree of civilized interaction in the affairs of humanity. One type of individual (among many others) the Revolution does not need is those that seek to cast about among emerging movements for the right vehicle to achieve selfish personal objectives with the least amount of effort. Hopefully, that is not your driving motivation here.

they've been busy...?

come on people, theyve been organizing a multi-million dollar rally for 15000 people. its not an easy task. at the same time theyve been coding up new features for the website. things take time, i'm sure theyll kick into gear soon and reply mails and messages.

GET OUT!

Wow I have not seen such a great bunch of whiners in quite a long time.

The immaturity of Ron Paul's supports has only set back our revolution. Thanks, without you and others like you we could have succeeded, but since half of his supporters don't know what it is to act like an adult and be responsible for self before they try to be responsible for a nation, we have only run into road block after road block.

People who have believed in our ideals and knew what Ron Paul supporters have been scared off by the immaturity and stupidity of some of his supporters. Rightly so, if I wasn't committed to the cause of this nation and the cause of liberty I to would have been running for the hills everytime I saw a Ron Paul supporter come my way.

Thank you for nothing. Thank you for reflecting bad on all of us. Thank you for plaguing a nation from backing Ron Paul. Thank you for being the only hindrance this revolution has met.

Please don't let the door hit you on the way out and the rest of your whiners, you folks that can't proceed in life without pot, those who insist on inflicting this nation with your meaningless 9/11 conspiracy theories (that's right meaningless, as in it won't matter), please leave, you aren't welcome!

I donated to the campaign for liberty today

I donated to the campaign for liberty today and I also donated to the Bob Barr campaign, my next paycheck I will donate to the Baldwin campaign. I will continue to fund every option unless one becomes non-viable. The Campaign for liberty is already gaining momentum and the rally got great coverage. The campaign for liberty is a fantastic idea, some centralization is simply called organizing, without it there can be chaos and redundant actions wasting valuable resources. It is the difference between anarchy and republic. I would be suspect of anyone who comes here in the last few weeks and criticizes a highly effect option which is already providing results. We got the most media results we have gotten since this before and after the convention. I am funding everything I can independently while keeping an eye on the C4L and I suggest everyone does the same. It will not take long before we see more results, we have to be patient. We have alot to do to change the direction of this country. Do all you can personally, and do all you can through any channel you deem worthy. The C4L is a good thing and will bring results. I trust Dr. Paul, he has been inside the beast for so many years now and many of us have recently awoken to how bad things have gotten.....there is so much we can do. I think the C4L will grow into a powerful alliance and we will see continued attacks on it. We must be wary and weigh the pro's and con's while always remembering our goals. Just the education materials they will provide will be absolutely valuable in converting people.

After Party

I was part of the Great American Walk for Freedom. We walked 280 miles across the state. We gave town hall meetings along the way and promoted the constitution. I couldn't get a slot at the leadership summit. After what I heard, I didn't miss anything anyway. However, when I went to the after party there was a whole roped off section. I'm no swinging dick by any means, but I thought they would have been gracious enough to invite me back there with the elites were the beer didn't cost ten bucks. So I don't need c4l. I'll preach the gospel of freedom with or without them.

just my two cents

Cheap beer fo all

Let it be known I will support no matter what. Regardless if I had to buy ten dollar beer. That really is my major complaint. Byob right? You can call me a whiner if you want to. You know what? Sometimes people need to vent. Support your brothers when the time comes. Till then, preach the word!

Everybody relax...

If they don't reply this week to voice or e-mails, it just may be because they are overwhelmed by the response from the Rally.

Give them a chance to get started. I too believe C4L can be either top down or bottom up. My local libertarian group is the candle in the dark night. C4L is the little green plastic wire that joins the candles to make Christmas lights. It's all beautiful. Be the the candle or the wire, but get on board.

Some groups need top-down direction and encouragement. Other groups have been in existence for decades and know how to run themselves. Let's all get along together for the greater goals of limited government, individual liberty, fiscal responsibility, and so on.

Typical libertarian LOL

Well the word on Ron Paul Forums is that Campaign for Liberty is going to be run like a constitutional republic. Neither top down or bottom up. For example, if I am a precinct leader and I'm very good, all of my peers in campaign for liberty will vote me up to district and so on so it weeds all the inefficient people out. CFL hasn't even really started yet. I think someone said around the first of October they'll start business. Don't give up before it's even started! And it won't do us any good if we all go off and do our own thing. That's the problem with being fiercely independent minded. It's our curse and our blessing.

I'm signed up and ready to assist them

I'm a "member" and I donated the max to the Ron Paul campaign, so I figure I've already contributed.

However, for the longest time they did not specify whether they would support freedom candidates regardless of party, and now it looks to be Republican-centered.

This is a conflict of interest for me. I can't join AARP because they lobby for socialism. At least the C4L isn't that bad! But I only have so much to give and I'm not a Republican, so...

It really doesn't matter: freedom will bring us together.

What was the point of this post?

Trash your grandmother instead. Sure, they're dolts, but some of us will fight them and make it a decent org. in the end. Check back later.

Well, sigh, I like it when

Well, sigh, I like it when people state their passionate opinions. I will never work with c4l until they answer their phone messages and email. They gave me the very clear picture that they do not care enough for the grassroots to answer their letters or even the phone. I do not care if it is just starting--it should start with plenty of people who can answer emails, phones and follow up on suggestions from US. Otherwise it is like a negative of the picture the GOP has forced us to view. I sent them money, and may, still, but my heart will not be in it, until I see it run with heart.
