An observer's take on the Barr / 3rd party thing.
Disclaimer: Rant enclosed.
Right, let me say this to start this isn't just another thread about Barr. This is my take on the stupidity going on...With squabbling like this among the third party candidates we'll *never* get anywhere. And you're expecting me to vote for third party candidates that can't even get themselves together well enough to present a statement? I liked Ron Paul's press release today, I don't see what was so wrong or offensive about it. He didn't "cop-out" he spoke the truth while still keeping his position in the Republican Party, why? So he can continue to be a voice of reason and change in Washington and help others do the same.
If I wanted to see more nonsensical squabbling I would have turned on the TV and watched the news about McCain and Obama's bickering or how Oprah apparently doesn't like Michelle Obama or some crap like that. I'd hoped for a little better here but I guess that's not always the case...I have my mind made up if my state supports write-ins I will vote Ron Paul otherwise I will not be voting for the Presidential election because quite frankly there is no one to vote for and the only one worth votin for got censored by the MSM but not us. There's the real thing and then there's cheap imitations of the real thing and I happen to know of the real thing.
I'm not looking for trouble, folks, but I will stand up for and stand by what I believe in, because if you don't stand for something, you'll just fall for anything that comes along and I would rather not fall for some neo-con bullcrap.
And that's my opinion, ta (or thank you).
JohntheShadow.

Where is the information on a write- in
I'm curious what kind of numbers it could bring.
NObody deserves this more!
Ron Paul!
The Professor's Picks
These are strictly advisory, of course, but since I’ve already done the research and analysis, I thought I’d save ya’ll a little effort. In order to carry out Dr Paul’s “marching orders” to maximum effect, and to preserve the possibility (sinking fast though it may be) of a Paul Presidency, I think these are our best bets:
If you live in Oklahoma, you have no choice. Write-in Ron Paul.
If you live in Montana or Louisiana, rejoice! You get to vote for Ron Paul!
If you live in New Hampshire, please vote for George Phillies (the other Libertarian).
If you live in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or West Virginia, vote for Chuck Baldwin.
If you live in Arizona, California, The Dakotas, The District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, or Wyoming, you have my condolences. You’ll need to vote for Cynthia McKinney.
If you live in Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, or Texas, you have my deepest condolences. You’re stuck with Ralph Nader. Sorry.
If you can’t stomach my recommendations, then, if your State permits, I guess you should write in Ron Paul.
This decision is rather painful for me, as it will be the first Presidential election for me (since 1976) in which I will not be voting for the Libertarian. It looks as though the Barr Campaign has burned that bridge, and it likely won’t be rebuilt until at least 2012.
Naturally, depending on State laws and Party rules, State Libertarian, Constitution, or various independent Parties who substitute Ron Paul for their present candidate on State ballots should also win our allegiance.
Baldwin ballot access
Here is the link to the page that lists Baldwin's ballot status:
http://www.constitutionpa...
Some states, like Arizona do count write-ins as long as the candidate has filed as a write-in candidate. This is why a write-in for Ron Paul would not be counted, but a write-in for Chuck Baldwin would.
Every state is different, so check out the rules before you decide the best use of your vote.
Thanks Prof De La Paz
As I live in Mississippi I guess I need to find out all I can about chuck Baldwin, and to go to the court house and make sure he's on the ballot, If I can't vote for RP the man I realy want in office then maybe Mr.Baldwin would make RP hisVP,just a dream of mine, do you have any other ideas?
Great post
Good you have dropped Bob Barr.
Dr. Paul cured my apathy
WOW!
informative, thank you.
Things will settle down here by tomorrow, I'm sure....
....some people are just getting their licks in to the NON-Ron Paul supporters who tried to divide us over the past several months...
And that I agree with.
Lurked for about a year, but now from the shadows I have come.
Welcome JohntheShadow,
People seem to be preoccupied with settling past disputes, rather than talking about what Dr. Paul has suggested we do.
And that is to get these 3rd party candidates into the debates or hold our own debates.
The American Majority The
The American Majority
The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can ‘throw the rascals out’ at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.

I agree
Don't waste your times with Barr, folks!
