Texas Voters Are Not Stuck With Nader !!!!!!
You can't write in Ron Paul in Texas, but Chuck Baldwin is listed on the Texas Secretary of State's website as an approved write-in candidate.
So you aren't stuck with Ralph Nader as claimed above in the original post.
b-bump!
b-bump!
I'm not writing in Ron Paul...its a waste of a vote.
Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.
"Everything in Moderation! Even socialism."
Obama 2008/Rand Paul 2012
What if?
What if I cast my "non wasted" vote, but I also use the little Ron Paul 2008 rubber stamp on the bottom or back of the ballot?
not according to ths site
http://writein2008.blogsp...
Anyone want to do some paperwork for Ron Paul? Deadlines are coming up at the end of this month, by the way.
Ommission
That site does not detail certain restrictions that may be in place. Missouri RSMo 11.453(4) states among other things:
"No candidate who files for nomination to an office and is not nominated at a primary election may file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate for the same office at the general election."
There may be similar laws in other states. The website you listed does not address these issues. It only addresses general provisions.
At least that is the case for Missouri.

FAQ
If a candidate runs in a primary election and loses, can the person run in the general election for the same office?
No. If a candidate files for nomination to an office and is not nominated at a primary election, that candidate cannot file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate for the same office at the general election. (Section 115.453(4) RSMo)
These are not our only choices,
We will determine our choices be gaining debate access for "all" the candidates.
This is what Ron Paul has commanded us to do.
No Baldwin in New York
Unless its Alec or Billy. Write-ins won't get counted. If I'm going to do that, I may as well write in Ron Paul
If I vote for anyone on the ballot, I'll have to hold my nose and vote for Barr.

Don't waste time with frauds Obama, McCain, Nader or Barr - join the Campaign For Liberty! http://www.campaignforlib... The Constitution is more important than voting for the evil of 4 lessers
Or I could vote for who I
Or I could vote for who I want instead of you directing me. I thought Ron Paul said to pick the person you most agreed with.
let me rephrase
All the 3rd party candidates don't have access in all 50 states (except the one whose name I will not mention). If you want to vote for them then you can use this as a guide. If you want to put up your favorite 3rd party candidate then do so, I'm not trying to direct just teach.
exactly, but you ARE
exactly, but you ARE directing people by not mentioning ALL the names. You're shortening the list, directing them away from specific candidates.
I understand why everyone is pissed about Bob Barr now... I admit, I am too... so much that although I was planning on voting for him, I now have even more serious doubts/concerns than before.
Unfortunately for me, I will probably not vote at all because of this.
Exactly!
This Post is Bogus (in my humble opinion)
go to each candidate's website and find out what their message is
and what their possition is on the Major Issues
and find what states they are on the ballot!
"There is a war on for your mind - If you are thinking - you are winning!"
flotbots
This is not about directing people
Its about letting them know who they can vote for. I personally don't care about where the other candidates have access-so if you're going to vote for 3rd party here's a list of the states that are available for people to vote in.
Totally False
Missouri is working in the Constitution Party .... across the board!
Missouri is for Chuck Baldwin - President
Good catch!
Thank you. I'll be working on a revision.
For all our talk of supporting Dr Paul and being strict Constitutionalists, why don’t we read the Constitution and realize that Dr Paul can be elected President without appearing on a single State ballot?
That's what my post below
That's what my post below was about...
The Consitution Party and Chuck Baldwin are on the ballot in Vermont. I should know, I'm the secretary of the VT CP! Why should I vote for a socialist with some good points, when I can vote for Baldwin who shares my views on my things?
Keep Saying It!

I changed the post above for MO and VT
For those who don't know here's the page:

Why do I need to vote for
Why do I need to vote for McKinney when Baldwin is on the ballot in VT?
You choose
Greens have historically performed better than the Constitution Party in Vermont, and my recommendations are based on a desire to hit each State's Demoblican establishment with the biggest sledge hammer we can lift. In Vermont this year that appears to be Cynthia McKinney. If you think I'm wrong, then I urge you to work with your fellow Green State patriots and push the CP past the Greens this time. I don't mind being corrected. I think it's better than remaining wrong. You haven't convinced me, but I don't rule out your thesis either. You're probably better equipped to assess Vermont than I am anyway.

Michael.......frontpage please?
Check out the rules in your state
Baldwin has write-in status in many states. These votes can be counted under certain circumstances. For example, in Arizona, votes for a candidate who files as a write-in will be counted (Chuck Baldwin, for example). If the candidate doesn't sign the paperwork, the votes won't count (Ron Paul, for example).
Here is the link to find out whether Baldwin in an option for you or not.

Madre de Sies
Thank you for the update and the addtional options for the Green-averse.
now THIS deserves a BUMP!
now THIS deserves a BUMP!
I think when the rubber meets the road and it is election day ..
and you have decided to pull the trigger for someone, then this is a pretty good summary of who you should vote for.
As for me, I am still considering a write in candidate.
WAHOR!!

bump
but why give Nader a slap in the face in this post.
Please change it~Paul was just TOGETHER with Nader on CNN.
Nader just called for a new investigation into 9/11.........
this man has been in the good fight as long as Ron

Ralph's a Big Boy
He has never been particularly thin-skinned, nor is he unaware of the deep philosophical division between his anti-capitalist followers and lovers of liberty.
Our adversaries who are also the enemies of our enemies are not necessarily our friends, but they are often our ALLIES.
I'll bet Ralph is less offended than you are. And besides, it's not a "slap in the face" it's a "poke in the ribs."
I agree
I'll change it (sorry La Paz). Nader is a socialist, but he's got 9/11 right. I did think it was funny, however.
THERE ARE NO ELECTIONS IN NOVEMBER
The electors were chosen at the State Convention. THEY and they alone get to cast votes for President now.
Am I typing in Greek?
NO ELECTIONS in November. BIG dog and pony show. PLEASE don't become sleeple now!
We all can get a day off though
If we "pretend" to elect someone. This gives us some information so we can tell others who they're able to vote for.
I would love to see the "horse race" polls
With all of these candidates. How much does a poll cost anyway?
to the top
