It's interresting to see that more or less of a "green light" is given by the consensus of this site to Baldwin after the "Barr Meltdown". I like it.

what is Chuck Baldwin's own economic policy in concrete? How will he go about with the changes?When I look at the issues part of his site, I see NO heading or topic dealing with the economy directly. The Baldwin/Castle Doctrine seems to outlaw any chinese, japanese or middle-eastern type hedge fund or govt. related investment agency to own any stock. Will thos funds that already own a stake, like with Citibank, be forced to sell their stake? and if so, who will buy it up? Temasek in Singapore is a govt. investment agency and probably also has some stake in US assets. Will the Baldwin/Castle doctrine follow the golden rule and sell all US govt. stakes in other countries?
I see the Chinese and Japanese central banks, that hold most of US bonds and foreign debt, will be forced to sell. They are the ones still holding the USD at levels that are still OK, without that the USD will crush. No doubt that this economic nationalism has nothing to do with Ron Paul and will lead to a financial catastrophe, or make the current one worse.

Baldwin/Castle urgently need to rethink their doctrine!

1&2 are good answers.
3: While Ron Paul is a christian he doesn't wear it on his sleeve like Chuck Baldwin. Also Chuck mentions the highly polarizing figure of Jerry Falwell and the Religious Right. Even though I do believe in God I know the religious right infuriated alot of people, including myself, by being so instrumental in getting G.W. elected twice. A majority of christians have forgotten to be christian and less educated people would lump Baldwin in with this crowd-especially the more liberal or anarchistic Ron Paul supporters.
4: I don't see alot of people buying this. They'd probably say "Why don't we elect Colbert or Stewart?". If he was instrumental in any way to forward some position or get anything done for the common good (like opposing or getting a bill passed) then I'd have something to hang my hat on.

I like Baldwin, I just want to get a testament from him that he'd follow the constitution first and his religious beliefs second-something set in stone. I don't know how he could do this and still appear like a strong president. For the non-trusting public its tough to beat the no experience rock-just like Palin (who is the Governor of the largest state in the Union).
I guess we can just posit him as a protest vote. Something like if you believe in the constitution and destroying the system that controls you then vote Baldwin.

I was personally thinking Secretary of State would be incredible given the horrible state our foreign relations are in but this is good too! Just knowing that Dr. Paul is in the cabinet, in a top advisory position on most all affairs could do SOOOO much good for this country, and even the world!

Baldwin or any other third party will not be winning this election, but voting third party to show dissatisfaction is imperative. Therefore, this statement is empty. It is nothing more than the type of political pandering we supposedly abhor. It is on the same level as Barr asking Paul to be VP.

Has RP accepted this offer? Has he made any inclination that he would accept? Would he give up his house seat to do so?

Come on guys we are supposed to be above this type of stuff. And honestly, all of the giddy commenters below sound similar to the new found Palin fans who take talking points at face value without evaluating the substance.

Last time I read from Title 26, it calls out the Secretary of the Treasury as the one with authority to enforce Internal Revenue Laws. There's no doubt in my mind that Ron Paul would properly enforce them.

What a blowhard. Baldwin knows (or should know) he won't even get 1/2 of 1% of the vote in the states where is on the ballot! Who he says he would appoint when he becomes president (and pigs start flying) is meaningless, and he's a blowhard for even saying it.
