We have an exciting opportunity before us to elect a fantastic candidate to U.S. Congress. Dr. William "B.J." Lawson is a Republican who is running in the 4th District of North Carolina. Dr. Lawson has been endorsed by Congressman Ron Paul, whose campaign for President he supported during the Republican Primaries. Most recently Dr. Lawson was the emmcee of the Ron Paul Nation Celebration concert in Minneapolis. He is a principled defender of liberty, peace, and Constitutional Rule of Law. He opposes the Iraq War and interventionism, supports strong protection of our sacred Constitutionally-enshrined liberties, and is a strong proponent of a free market economy with a sound financial system and a government that is fiscally responsible and protects individual rights of life, liberty, and property from violation by the powerful. His keen intellect and his varied life experience as a physician and a successful entrepreneur provides him with a vast understanding of the issues our country faces today, which he articulates at a level rarely seen in politics today.

Dr. Lawson has put together an impressive and skilled campaign organization, composed of staffers ranging from former Hillary Clinton-supporting Democrats to long-time Republican activists to young college students involved in politics for the first time in their lives. He is building a base of support in the 4th District that is similarly diverse. It's not rare in the district to see people with an Obama sign and a Lawson for Congress sign in their front yards, or an Obama and Lawson bumper sticker on their cars at the same time. These voters are coming together in the district in support of Dr. Lawson's campaign out of shared realizations, which include:

* Our system of government in Washington is fundamentally broken;
* Our government is a tool for the bidding of powerful corporations and interest groups, not the servant of the people;
* Our Constitutionally-protected civil liberties are being unjustly violated and sacrificed;

Congressman Price has a long record of voting for aggressive military interventions, for violating the Bill of Rights, and for doing the bidding of powerful corporations. But Congressman Price, being an establishment political figure in Washington, will be well-funded by the corporations and special interest groups he serves.
