but , FWIW, in the graphic novel, your hero V's character is modeled after Satan.

And we all agreed it was dumb.

I mean the hero is like a burn victim with a disease or something who speaks in sideways poetry and fights with a dagger.

Sure it obviously used some common thread from conspiracy stories and 9/11, but the idea all you have to do is run around in a cape and mask until the police shoot you is stupid.

The profoundness of a film trying so hard to teach you something was distinctly absent.

finished watching it, then it was played on FX last week.

Great movie. A little silly, comic-bookish... but the message of opposition to oppression was indeed inspiring. I actually found myself getting a little 'chokey' during the taped speech on the emergency channel.

A definite must see.

FOX doesn't show movies. Who actually believed that FOX would play this of all movies? That's ridiculous. That would be like Hitler inviting the public to watch videos of the holocaust with him. V for Vendetta shows us that the media is a means to an end for public control better than any movie that I've ever seen.

I would think even mentioning V for Vendetta by a FOX commentator would be heresy and immediate grounds for removal. If people actually knew how and why the media works as it does there would be a revolutionary shift in short order.

you rent the movie. The TV has hidden subliminal messages, you'll never know what hit you. Your mind only works at 24 frames per second. Anything else added to that and you wont know you saw it but it will register on your brain.

Might have to sneak out to the shop to watch it - my wife gave me a dirty look when I told her it was on tonight. She's probably seen it a hundred times (and not 'cause she wanted to)... As we say in Maine, "she's all set with that"... ;)

I think it is quite ironic that FOX is airing V for Vendetta. Quite a dangerous movie to show the masses, if one was a collectivist! Just might start a movement! Good thing Fox doesn't have any idea what it's about! hahahaha
