This is why we buck the system:
Its because I love his preacher and wife. I love his tendencies to embrace socialist ideas... Imagine a generation of kids that believe the government is really there to help.
Isnt that what Reagan said was the scariest thing he ever heard a politician say? 'Im from the government and Im here to help.'
How Ron Paul plays out in this election isnt over just yet. He is the only leader I see besides a dog and pony covered in lipstick that has a support base.
Once we are poor we will be powerless against a titanic government. The laws enacted will start taking political prisoners and dissenters. Think Im crazy? Ask the people arrested for no reason at the RNC. Imagine when they are called terrorists and are without due process for political reasons. Think its not so? Do not forget we invaded Iraq without a declaration of war. What do you expect to happen?
Id rather be poor and free, than living on borrowed money and owned by a fascist government. If Americans could put those two thoughts together cohesively the idea that has come could be unleashed.
We need to be lead though. I love Ron Paul.. but its a cop-out. Only he has the power to unite this country.
According to Paul 16% of the people elect a president. If thats correct... Ron Paul can win on the L ticket. Nothing in the history of politics has happened like the RP phenomenon. That energy is still there on the sidelines waiting to be unleashed. And regardless of who wins.. Only Paul could make a difference in this election.
At this critical juncture in our history we need a man that can lead us. We need an example of the American dream. We need wisdom, honor and respect. We need clear decisions that look inward instead of globally.
The reason I believe it so deeply is simple. If Paul wants us to protest he should buck the system too and give us a reason to stand behind him. Ill take that flip flop decision and let the GOP cry foul. Who cares? Both parties are screwing us.
I cannot be alone here... any thoughts?

he can't
Sore loser laws are in his way of doing that, even if he were inclined, which I don't think he is.
Frankly, with what's unfolding right now, I think we're in for a restructuring of society which will make all of us forget about Oblahblah and McSame. Just keep working on those around you. Everybody get a few neighbors talking and thinking. The "teachable moment" of a lifetime is arriving; we would be fools not to take advantage of it -- but not to try for a windmill-tilt like a 3rd party presidential run. This is going to be deeper than that, IMO.
