Ron Paul has introduced H.R. 2755…
…the “Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act“, which will repeal the Federal Reserve Act and abolish the US Federal Reserve at the end of 1 year after its passing into law.
The 1 year time frame will be a “winding down” period, overseen by the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, who will continue to pay employees and operate day-to day dealings.
The OMB Director will begin liquidating the Fed’s assets, which will put into the General Fund of the Treasury. The Secretary of the Treasury and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget will report back to Congress at the end of 18 months.
The Texas Congressman has been a long time critic of the US Federal Reserve, ran a grassroots campaign for the Republican Party nomination of President of the United States. Paul was derided by many within his own party for his stance on the Iraq War. Despite poor showings in polls, Rep. Paul used his presidential campaign as a bully pulpit for small government and a strict interpretation of the US Constitution, which has since found an increasing acceptance by conservatives, including political commentators Glenn Beck and Chuck Norris.

Time to end the FED/IRS and replace Federal Reserve Notes with U.S. Treasury Certificates backed by hard assets. The entire debt problem public and private could be erased by charging an exchange tax of 10% for private Citizens and small business. All Federal government, corporations and all money offshore will pay 25% with State/Local government paying zero as they are broke anyway. The massive surplus instantly created can go to infrastructure revitilization and setting up TRF Tax Retirement Funds for all citizens and then close down Social Security.
This was introduced in summer 2007
And it is languishing in committee, waiting for a co-sponsor.

Generally, though, on a "Ron Paul site," (in your words) you will find a far more lenient mentality toward comments which are generally viewed as being TROLL-ish. In no way do I speak for the Daily Paul website.

Great.
Instead of supporting the bailout RP has given everyone a way
out of this nightmare and begin the reconstruction.
Dr. Paul is just amazing. He is now taking the lead since he was the one who brought this to the nations' attention. This is appropriate and needed.
Now we can all get back on those phones and tell our reps we want them to support Dr. Paul's bill as a beginning stage to get our system into a 'sound' system.
For that to happen, though, we will have to repeal all those bogus laws and restore our Constitutition and have it upheld and defended once and for all.
Next, arrests and charges of outright treason need be made. We need a coalition in Congress to do this and have the bailiff and his deputies or however they do it, military personel, whatever, but this has to be done before all hell breaks loose in this country.

I think it's a good idea to let them pass the bailout . Then we have evidence that they have committed a crime against the Constitution. The blowback would be more powerful by millions of angry "we the people" to stop legitimately paying the bogus federal taxes.

Ron Paul needs to get public co-sponsers in line.
Ron Paul needs to build support for this resolution by lining-up co-sponsers within Congress, along with some financial experts, and then push this very publically on TV with joint press briefings.
I know that Dennis Kucinich has expressed the need for Monetary Reform and has also questioned the constitutionality of the Federal Reserve. Kucinich is gutsy enough to sign-on to this. If Ron Paul can get 5 people in Congress to sign-on, and then get some high profile financial industry people (or economists), he can then launch a very visible, public campaign on behalf of this bill.
The momentum will swing to Ron Paul's side over time.
This will only compliment and give hope to the grassroots-level efforts that have been going on.
