hilarious, chilling incompetance or chilling mind control?

They should have worded
They should have worded without "BUSH" in the title, that alone makes the poll immediately 60% against since he's got a crap rating right now.

Bravo to
the people who called them out on their blatant lies.
did you see all the
did you see all the comments- noone was buying it, this is what we need, it shows how much the media is just the sales people for the elite.
I also saw crammer (mad money) ranting and raving about we need to rush this through- what an idiot!! Instead of trying to scare everyone, how about we disect the good the bad and what other options are on the table and make a good choice. I saw this someone said the other day "you think our problems are bad, wait until you see our solutions"
Lets get rid of fed and fiat money!! thats a great start.
that's where the false red-blue paradigm comes in...
The mockingbirds in the media tend to reinforce the fraudulent left-right paradigm and the very sloth-like idea that "nothing can be done about it" therefore we have no choice but to either drop out of the process entirely or tacitly reinforce the very system which offers so few real alternatives.
But of course there is a third way that the War Party and its apologists in the media won't talk about--that of freedom. And that is why we are here on the Daily Paul.

Sheesh! Different Polls! Wake UP!
There are different numbers between the telephone poll and the online poll. People who seek a poll out to vote on it (or seek out a congresscritter to speak out about something) have a different view of things from the generally uninformed public.
Also, remember the "Frank Luntz" effect. Pollsters can get you to say whatever they want, and normally even get you to contradict yourself in one conversation.
So, "Do you support the President's plan to rescue the economy, or do you want it to go to hell in a handbasket by having Congress do nothing?"
It was probably more subtle than that, but *that* was more like the question that they were asking in the phone poll.
Answering the phone is not a passive process...
...neither is responding to a telephone survey/poll.
And I won't even mention how current polling methodologies omit the fast growing segment of cell-phone only households (like myself and almost all of my friends and family).
Speaking of friends and family, how many of yours favor bailing out Wall Street? None of the people that I have talked to favor this National Socialism.

Go back to sleep
I'm sure you were in the middle of a comforting CFR dream.
The title and article don't fit on the "pro" bailout scenario
The articles states that like 56% want something, but not Bush's bailout of UP TO 700 billion. We all know that is the floor, and it is way below the ceiling which is like the "war on terra"...endless. So misleading is a mild way to describe it. However on a bright note, these are the comments on the first page, and I didn't take a single "pro bailout" comment off. Looks like we the people still agree...no bailout!

I don't know anyone who is in favor of this bail out.
I work in the financial industry and the long and short of it is that the market always corrects itself. We might crash, we might not but the market always bounces back.
A bail out of any size will do damage to the system. That money will never get paid back, taking $700B of taxpayers money that could have gone to some good and throwing it away forever. We'll be in even worse shape in the long run if we put this band-aid in to effect.
It's like the stimulous package or the "tax free gas summer"...it's a band-aid, short-term. No one is thinking about the long-term!

This poll is so much BS.....
When I ask people "should we bail out WallStreet", I have not heard one yes.
CNN and or Gallop are Flat out Lying to the readers.
They are paid by the WallSTreet group thru advertising....so they are here to help.
Citizens do not advertise or pay for Gallop Polls......
This article is very misleading to be kind.

Let me guess what the poll question was. "Do you a.) support the government taking action to help solve the financial crisis, or b.) feel that the government should take no action?"
My guess is that no where in their poll did they mention the words "$700billion" or "bailout".
Just a thought
Jim Lundberg wrote: 17m ago
I would believe 78% AGAINST it. This poll is obvious politically backed. Intended to shift opinion, not sample it.

78% say Congress should approve a historic bailout of the nation's financial markets------Only 11% in the poll taken Wednesday night say Congress should take no action to ease the current credit crisis-------22% want lawmakers to approve a plan similar to Bush's proposal------- 40% of poll respondents said it's the biggest crisis in their lifetime; 24% agree it's a crisis but say it's not the worst. However, 80% say they're following news -------If lawmakers do nothing, 74% believe the economy would get worse------100% THINKS ALL OF THIS IS BULL!!!!

I've been holding a WaMu BOND in my IRA (no selling that these last weeks) that has just gone to $0.
It was investment grade when I bought it.
Red or blue, best go check your accounts. Maybe you can bail out of an investment like Sen. Flameout did on the "bailout"

I have said many times that we need a revolution. The government (I said government because whether it is the democrats or republican it doesn't matter) are taking us for a ride. They are also highly paid and get all the perks. We the people get screwed let and right. Why don't all these congressman, senators, etc.. cut first their salaries. Next move all their pension funds to social security and just like all of us live the rule of social security. They raised our age for eligibility on SS but for them they have their own pension fund that they could withdraw at age 55. Many a times we get tax and we get nothing in return except debt debts and debtsss. Even though countries like, England, Canada, etc.. has high taxes.. people in those countries doesn't have to worry about health care, retirement, etc. WE DO AND WE ARE ALSO TAX AS MUCH NOW WHEN ALL THESE ADDS UP. The government is as inefficient as all those CEOs so call expert with experience.

THOSE BASTARDS
What a den of vipers!!!!! Man I am speechless. I am so sick of this twisted manipulated media misleading the populace. The time for peaceful protest is over. How much rope can the American people come up with? Start getting the rope ready people. Get your ammo stocked up. Start shooting and rope wringing chicken hawks scrawny traitorous necks. Good thing about America, we got plenty of sturdy trees. I prefer oak.
People. People! Reading is fundamental!
Try reading the actual questions and see the answers line up nicely. 11% say Congress should take "no action" while a majority of those who want *some* action taken want a *different* plan from the Bush/Bernanke/Paulson excretion. A minority of those who do want action taken want this excretion. That lines up rather well with the online poll, which asks if the surfer wants *this* excretion, and 22% say yes to that.
You gotta read the words, not just look at the shiny numbers.
I will agree, though, that the way the shiny numbers are presented does have the distinct odor of psychological manipulation. (Fuck you, Frank!)

What a load!
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
I can explain the discrepancy quite easily.
If you poll people randomly over the telephone you will get the opinions of random telephone users who have nothing better to do.
If you poll people over the internet, you will get a totally different result. Is that really surprising?
The paymasters at USA Today simply chose the poll result they liked best.

the truth
The truth that no one seems to want to face is that our entire economy, our entire monetary system is reaching its terminal point, every economy that relies upon debt for its expansion will always fail. Every fiat system of money in history has always failed and ours will be no different. What we are witnessing is the end of the DEBT STANDARD which, includes the Fiat Monetary and Fractional Reserve Banking Systems.
hahahaha
wow
Great!!! I guess
I dont have to make my house payment or truck payment. Here is a idea, 700 billion bailout to the banksters or 300 million....million dollar checks given to the people, at least we could buy some gas and ramen noodles after this is all over.
USA Today
should be called NWO Today. The polls are exactly the opposite of their "news" story. Notice how they say 78% "should" go for G.W.'s plan, not 78% have gone with his plan? Why don't they just admit they're lying already?
