Will keep this bumped.
Contact your Senators since they will vote on this too and we have to defend all fronts.
grant
I have a correction - Ohio - Tiberi voted no!!!!
Earlier this morning I posted here that Ohio 12th District rep Patrick Tiberi was in support of a bailout. Today he completely shocked me by voting against the measure. Please keep him off this list for the moment.
In principal he does support a rescue according to a statement from this morning at his official house.gov site.
Warning!
He could still turn at any moment and needs to be considered in the "at risk" category. I'm still going to hammer away with the phone calls and e-mails and fully encourage my fellow constituents to do the same.

This boner is as limp as a sock. Axe him!
i can't take anymore.
going to take a shower and hose these debates off me.
Don't know whether to classify this as some kind of Roman
farce or a shakespearean tragedy. Barney Frank pleads for passage and is greeted by resounding applause. Now Boehner will put the final nail into the economic coffin.
So this is how liberty dies, to the sound of thunderous applause.

some of their talking points
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/financial_meltdown
"Many of us feel that the national interest requires us to do something which is, in many ways, unpopular," said Rep. Barney Frank, the Financial Services Committee chairman. "It is hard to get political credit for avoiding something that has not yet happened.
Frank, D-Mass., called the measure "a tough vote," but a necessary one to stave off a financial meltdown. It lets the government buy sour assets — mostly mortgage-backed securities — from struggling financial institutions in a bid to clear out clogged avenues of credit for businesses and individuals alike.
President Bush once again urged the bill's passage, saying in a White House appearance Monday morning that "every member of Congress and every American should keep in mind that a vote for this bill is a vote to prevent economic damage to you and your community."
"With this strong and decisive legislation," he said, "we will help restart the flow of credit so American families can meet their daily needs and American businesses can make purchases, ship goods and meet their payrolls."
Republican Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin. Without the bill, Ryan added, "the worst is yet to come."
"We're in this moment, and if we fail to do the right thing, Heaven help us." he said.
As Democratic and Republican leaders hunted for votes, leaning on lawmakers to take a political hit for the good of the country, Ryan said, "We're all worried about losing our jobs. ... Most of us say, 'I want this thing to pass, but I want you to vote for it — not me.' "
Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., told The Associated Press: "It's one of those situations where if it passes and works, people will never know how close we were to the brink."
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the bill "should help to restore the flow of credit to households and businesses that is essential for economic growth and job creation."

If I were McCain and wanted to win
I'd say "I'm going to vote for it." Then, the moment Obama votes YEA (let him vote first), go and vote NAY and use it to destroy him in the debate. That's probably what he'll do. It's the only card he has left to play but it would win the election.
