$700 billion got them a

$700 billion got them a fight. So why didn't I hear about $630 billion until after it passed? (on a Saturday, of course)

We the people demand our government stand down. Enough is enough. Call for these criminals to stand down!

Actually, as stated in THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND,

the government is providing support for the private banksters who have made a bunch of bad investments. The idea is to not let them fail so that they will continue to keep their doors open and be ready to conduct business, once again, when the dust settles. Dr. Paul has remarked about this paradigm, as well. Of course, the danger is that inflating the currency eventually causes for hyperinflation. In their quest to survive and remain "in charge", these stalwarts of finance have selected policy measures that are likened to extinguishing a raging fire with megadoses of gasoline. Of course, one must ask by what authority can the government engage in such "bailouts" with public monies?

OMG...didn't the Pentagon...

just conveniently lose 2.5 Trillion dollars? WTF>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

when are people finally

when are people finally going to open their eyes and realize whats really going on!! this is crazy!

I really don't care how much they pump in....

in the long run, those dollars will be useless, but my guns, food, and precious metals will win, and so will we.

OK

I agree but take your money from the market by borrowing your own money..
weee

Im glad they are pumping it in cause I'm pumping it out.

Buy, sell and invest locally.

There is a better way, every body just needs to take all their money out of the bank, stock market and government T-bills. Then go buy food, supplies, silver and gold. Use the silver and gold to start local businesses and trade. Invest in your local communities and don't lend money to anyone unless you know where they live and can look them in the eye.
Expecting companies thousands of miles away to take care of your money or expecting big government to solve our problems is the act of a fool.

Well said!

I agree, time to get out of their ponzi scheme!

A Wise Man

We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debt, as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our calling and our creeds...[we will] have no time to think, no means of calling our miss-managers to account but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers... And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes a precedent for[ another]... till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery... And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression. Thomas Jefferson

If this bailout scheme were about the money

then why not just let the fed continue to pump money into the credit market? What they did with this $630B is proof that it's not about the money...it's about power to buy up the Goldman Sach's and others CSD toxic debt and dump them on Main Street.

If you notice Paulson is not saying anything about buying up bad mortgage debt..it's all about illiquid assets. It's all about CSD's

Why do you think Buffit invested his $5B into Goldman? Especially, when he said, just a few short years ago that they were ticking time bombs.

The power is paramount, the $700B is irrelevant, he can get all the money he wants from the Fed once he has the power.

Instead of Congress working on an effort to get this bailout passed, they need to draft legislation to repeal the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

Cactus

You're right - it's about bailing out the buddies. Bloomberg reported that at:
http://www.bloomberg.com/...
Plus this forum has some Treasury calls where RBC Royal Bank Of Canada honcho Mr. Cassidy if there would be any SEC oversight and Kashkari said they told Congress yes but they didn't need to take it to the SEC. It is a buddy ponzi scheme which turns America into a socialist country now.

Counterfeit money

In effect, that's what it is.

This is what the founders warned about and why Only Congress had the authority to control the money supply.

Pawnstorm

Correction.

The constitution doesn't give the congress any power to control the money supply, it gives them the power to coin money. Anyone else who wants to supply money can do so, and that's fine and dandy.

If private parties mint gold, silver, platinum or whatever, they'll have little trouble getting people to accept it. If they want to issue paper currency redeemable for gold or cheeseburgers or kilowatt-hours or what have you, then whether people accept it will depend on their reputation.

I can haz

I can haz cheeseburger?

My Shelfari page

Is this just as bad?

This seems like it would be just as destructive as if Congress had passed the bailout plan. Either way, American's just had about $700 billion robbed from them without their consent.

and they will do more and

and they will do more and more.. goodbye dollar ... GOT SILVER AND GOLD?

Fed's actions

The Federal Reserve just said "Screw You, America - we run the show"

Exactly

Ben and Hank didn't get their bailout passed, so upset Ben goes ahead and ejaculates $630billion all over the economy!

A little sticky?

If this keeps up the fed will be selling

PRINTING FRANCHISES

Did those bastages at the Fed just do this because the bailout is taking to long to get passed?

Incredible...

Question: Who specifically is going to get all this new money?

Bump, any students of money + banking...
