But I think investors sold for margin calls. Selling to cover those who called in those margins. Also I am not privy to what the hell a margin call is.
These drops are going to destroy a lot of people
It is not a pretty thought, but the only way to fix this problem is to let the market correct. Piling on band-aids makes it worse and worse, so that when it does happen it would be ten-fold. It will be tough if the bills continue to fail, but I am convinced, we are Americans, we will pull through. It is not the end of the world.

have been propping up stocks for too long now. When the market finally resets, then it will have only one place to go,,,,up. It should weed out all the bad investments. I just hope the Fed. leaves it alone and lets it happen. The market hasn't been for real in a long time.

It's possibly all just a illusion
Remember last week, the markets did'nt do so bad, basing on optimism that the bailout was going to come through ? They did'nt even get a bailout and so we know they got money. Was Wall Street playing a game and it just backfired today? We'll see what happens tomorrow. The big loss in the markets is terrible, that's for sure, but hopefully if enough Wall Street folks start listening to Dr Paul and other like-minded people, they can change their ways and turn this around themselves.

Believe me, if I wasn't young enough to be able to ride this out, I'd probably go on a rampage. People will be severely hurt during this adjustment and it's going to get very distressing. People will want to hunt down "the people responsible" and it could conceivably lead to riots if markets plummet much, much deeper.
