I've called and I've emailed. It's now time for a fax bomb. There are 2 online services that I found that allow you to send free faxes from your computer. Both are paid for by placing ad's on the cover page.

http://faxzero.com/ (limit 2 faxes per day)

And I'm no artist, but I quickly made this and I'm sending out to a few Senators:

FAX BOMB

I just got home from work and I've now got a real fax machine up and running. I like the huge comment on page 2 that has all the fax numbers for all the representatives. I printed that out and I'm going to sit here and fax as I watch the vote.

Specter of PA

is one of my senators and no one is answering at his office, his voice mail box is full and won't take messages and his FAX line has been busy for two days. I think he really wants to hear from his constituents. I talked to someone at Casey's office and told him loud and clear NO BAILOUT. He said that was the prevailing opinion of callers, but I think Casey is going to vote for it anyway.

Let all those voting NAY

Let all those voting NAY know, even if they are not up for re-election for two years, some of their good buddies are. Soon THEY will be eating lunch alone!

PA done

got through thanks

Bump & LET'S CONTACT our governors and state reps.

LET’S CONTACT our governors and state reps. - we should NOT let them off the hook. States GOVERNMENTS need to be saying NO to this as well for obvious reasons.

If they get less than 70, the house will not pass it.

Even if they get their 75, it is going to be a heated battle on Friday.

They probably ran out of paper, no, they still have FRNs.

Seems to me that if we want to take power away from the elite who benefit from the Federal government, then people need to stop holding and investing in T-bills and put wealth in their own bank. An investment in T-bills empowers the elitists controlling the Federal government. Remember T-bills are just paper, just like FRNs. Withdrawling our investment is their biggest fear. Holding onto T-bills locks up dollars as they say. I suggest investing in something other than T-bills such as physical food, supplies, silver and gold. These items stimulate our economy and the individual is empowered. But, what the hell do I know?

Fax machines fail

I have tried to fax 20 Senators via my own fax machine. Everyone has an error message "Sorry, all circuits are busy now, Please try again later". I wonder if that link you are all using is not able to send the faxes either.

Also, this Contact Congress site http://www.visi.com/juan/... begins with the following message:

"CAPITOL HILL EMAIL NOT WORKING? This website has been experiencing unprecedented traffic in the days since the Wall Street bailout was announced. Many people have been reporting the links to email members of Congress have not been working. It turns out the Capitol Hill web servers have not been handling the load well. If you want to get your opinion about the bailout to members of Congress, I suggest clicking on their individual names here to bring up detailed contact information. Contact their district offices by phone to get your opinions across."

I hope these failures are for real and not an attempt to shut us out!

From (Ron Paul's) 'Campaign for Liberty' Website:

Kit Bond: http://bond.senate.gov/co...
Claire McCaskill: http://mccaskill.senate.g...

Dear Representative/Senator:

I urge you to oppose Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's $700 billion bailout of Wall Street.

The bailout:

- violates the Constitution by authorizing the Treasury to purchase bad mortgage-related assets.
- greatly enlarges our national debt and further erodes the value of our dollar.
- bails out Wall Street at the expense of Main Street by putting taxpayer funds at risk while freeing up banks to continue making bad loans.

Already, hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent bailing out Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and AIG, and the final price tag for those moves could result in trillions of dollars being added to our national debt.

The bailout plan ignores the fundamental reason why our economy is in such crisis: the Federal Reserve and the federal government's interference in the market and manipulation of the money supply spurred major banks and other corporations to back bad mortgages.

Adopting this proposal will only continue the same flawed practices and greatly worsen the long-term effects.

The way out of this current economic crisis is to return to the principles that made this nation great: constitutionally-limited government, personal freedom, low taxes, and a belief in sound money.

I am asking that you strengthen our economy by taking action to:

1.) End the Bailouts - The Federal Reserve's authority to use taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street must be revoked and the Fed must be held accountable.

2.) Cut Taxes and Curb Regulation - If we really want to stimulate businesses and revive the market, we need to cut corporate and capital gains taxes, spurring investors to come back to the market and making it easier to attract new workers and clients. It is also time to repeal failed legislation like Sarbanes-Oxley, which has crippled capital markets, diminished our competitiveness, and greatly harmed small businesses.

3.) Reduce Spending - We must freeze all non-entitlement spending by the federal government at current levels and eliminate wasteful spending both domestically and in our trillion-dollar overseas budget. Our debt has to come down, and it won't until we start living within our means. Reducing spending and cutting the debt will strengthen our dollar and reduce our cost of living.

4.) Reform the Monetary System - If we are to have long-term economic progress, we must end the system of printing money out of thin air. The current laws limiting the circulation of gold and silver-backed currency must be overturned.

Thank you for your attention in regard to this matter. I will be closely watching as events unfold over the next several days. A vote to approve the bailout plan will cost you my vote for your next reelection bid.

Sincerely,

[Your name]

TN - DONE AGAIN

Both of my senators, Bob Corker and Lamar Alexandar, have made their "yes" vote positions abundantly clear. They make me sick. Their explanations are junk. I sent them my "sentiments" regarding their positions and their next election.

On a lighter note, my congressman Zach Wamp voted against it, which suprised me, since he has been Bushy's lap dog since day one.

I called Senators Klobuchar's and Coleman's offices today and voiced my opinion about the bailout. I actually spoke to someone. They were nice. Sounds like they were getting a lot of calls! :)

I was able to get through to both the state and DC offices.

I also called and thanked the 4 Minnesota representatives who voted against the bailout:

As "Golden Rule" stated above...

If you've got a computer hooked up to a modem (which you obviously do, or you couldn't post on DP), there's no need to waste money on a separate fax machine. You should be able to send faxes directly from your computer, with either fax software that's already installed on your computer, or any number cheap and/or free programs that you CAN install...

All I'm hoping for is the

All I'm hoping for is the same thing both DeFazio and Kaptur said last night, that some courageous senator will stand up and filibuster this tonight.

ONE person is all it takes to blow this monster out of the water.

ONE person for liberty.

ONE person to say HELL NO and tell the world why.

One brave person is all we need.

This kind of thing makes history and political careers.

I've sent my emails

I'm trying to call the DC offices, but the voice mail boxes are full.

Now its time to hook up the fax machine!

There is world wide pressure to pass this bailout.

We have to draw the line, don't let this pass.

You're right,

the pressure is worldwide, and so are the expectations.
The newsreaders here in Australia even contributed the better days at the stock markets because of the expectations of the investors that the bill will be passed today!.

The spin in the media makes you sick....

What do you guys think of this?

In defense of the vote.

I will not sit idly by while lack luster journalists and paid for correspondents impugn and defame the congressmen that voted Nay on the Bailout. It wasn’t Nancy Pelosi’s speech hurting the feelings of a few congressmen that caused the fascist bills failure via bipartisan backlash. It was wholesale philosophic rejection coupled with the will of the American people that shut down a poorly conceived heist of the taxpayers wallet.

I heard journalist after journalist echo Chris Matthews’ words that Paulson didn’t sell the Bill well enough. I heard junk jargon spew from hired mouth pieces that there was a vacuum of leadership in the Whitehouse that failed to pull congress along with a plan to transfer wealth from the U.S. taxpayer to the private financial sector. I heard it said that Congress failed to act and President Bush say that the situation is far too dire for our Representatives to be indecisive. The worst of it was the media saying that our representatives cowed to populist pressure and in cowardice failed to act.

The problem with the current Corporate Banking Media establishment is that they have the ability to write history. The story can be spun in so many directions as to make the viewer so confused that at the close of the day, when the market bell finally rings and the traders must leave the floor, we can’t remember whether our congress decided to not decide or whether they cast a vote against a bill that was unconstitutionally fascist at its core. Which was it? I can hardly remember after the parrots of the major news networks finished squawking their talking points. If you too are wondering, if your head is spinning from all the partisan punditry and anchors cashing in on talking points, I’ll try to remind you. In the words of Andrew Jackson, our congressman told our overreaching Executive branch and the Federal Reserve, “There are no necessary evils in government. To you, gentleman, the treasury is closed.”

I’d like to set the record straight for history. Congress did act. They acted in accordance with their oath to defend the constitution and to protect the American people. The vote was cast, or so we thought.

On Wednesday evening the Bailout will rear its ugly head again as per the history of the Federal Reserve. This time it will be coupled with a more popular bill and our representatives will have to decide again. Only this time between something that a strong majority of our congress wants passed and a bailout of the financial sector that only a slim majority of them refused to allow through the House.

For those of you that voted against the “Emergency Economic Stimulus Act of 2008,” your reasons were your own, be they philosophic, career oriented or something else. I thank you and my hope is that you hold the line as you are caught in the eddy of extortion of the Executive branch and the mouthpieces of the very industry that caused this mess in the first place. In the spirit of history you should know that this is not the first time our Central Bank has come to you demanding that you throw wide the doors to the
Treasury and fleece the American people or condemn them to suffering and poverty. They have done so before and always on the heels of an explosion of credit.

It is always the temptation during a crisis to sacrifice liberty for the promise of prosperity but do not compromise your principles. The funny thing about the mainstream media is that they are becoming less and less mainstream. They are the sensational tabloid to be ignored when there is serious conversation to be had.
