Coincidentally, the Royal Bank of Scotland gave nearly a quarter of a million dollars to Senator Dodd, who is leading the bailout negotiations in the Senate.

How can I find out if AIG contributed to John Kerry, MA?
Do any of you know how I can find out how much AIG may have given to John Kerry from the People's Republic of Massachusetts? I've called his office--again--in oppositionto this version of the takeover/bailout--and I'd love to call back and voice my "concern" if he's received any substantial amount of $$$ from AIG. Thanks for any help.

... for political influence? Here? In America? That is like saying Vice President Cheney might try to influence foreign policy to benefit Halliburton, since Cheney has made over a billion dollars from his Halliburton stock over the last seven years. Meanwhile, he has made about 2 million as Vice President. But, come on, we all know that no American politician would do anything ethically questionable.

And... not to state the obvious, but I do believe nothing is beyond Cheney.

That list is even better than it appears
at first glance, at least I believe so, because I think those totals are many combined small contributions from current and former employees of the listed organizations. For example Microsoft Corp did not give 50,000, a large number of rank and file employees of MSFT acting on their own/privately gave a combined total of 50,000 made up of many small contributions.
That's right. When you donate you give two required items:
1) Employer
2) Industry.
91% of Ron Paul's contributions over his career have been from individuals. according to that site. That says everything.
