Are there any to switch from Y to N?

I just heard from his office, he switched his vote to "Yes" for the bailout :(

I know we need to flood those who may switch their votes, but don't forget to contact your congressman anyway. I called and emailed Bob Latta (Ohio) today. I thanked him for his no vote the first time around and encouraged him to vote no again.

I also said that our country was in a crisis of freedom and needed more than just a no vote. I told him it was a time for leaders to step up and speak out about this assault on the Constitution and the American people.

I am getting a creepy feeling from the lack of froth being aimed at him by the pro intervention types who are still venting at our other two sensible no voters.

This morning on our local news station in Cleveland, LaTourette said he will be changing his vote to yes because enough additional provisions have been made.

So much for my phone calls. My wife and I feel absolutely powerless in this whole thing. What a shame.

Thanks for the numbers. Faxes just went out to all of them. For the Dems, I urged them to heed the words of Defazio, Kaptur, Doggett and Sherman. For the Republicans, the words of Burgess, McCotter and Paul.

The staff member said half of the people calling in are angry he voted No and say they will never vote for him again!

Please call and convince the staff he did the right thing and that you are proud of him for that...but you will never vote for him again if he votes for this scam.

I called all of my congressman and very few were definitely no. About half were unsure or in a meeting about it.

This same list of 12 keeps popping up, but no one is including Don Young, who is considering voting for it now, since it includes some delicious Alaskan-flavored PORK that might help him get re-elected.

Alaska Rep. Don Young said Wednesday he is rethinking his opposition to the federal financial bailout bill because of "sweeteners" that include payments to rural areas harmed by the decline of the timber industry and tax breaks to Exxon Valdez litigants."I've not made up my mind," he said Wednesday in an interview.

Complaining that the bill conflicted with free-market principles, the Alaska Republican joined other House members in defeating the bailout plan Monday.

The Senate version of the bill, passed Wednesday night now includes billions of dollars in tax breaks beyond the Wall Street bailout. Alaska Sens. Ted Stevens and Lisa Murkowski voted for it.

The bailout bill also would extend a federal program that expired this week that pays rural counties hurt by the decline of logging on federal land, including many areas of Southeast Alaska.

The bill also would give a tax break to Exxon Valdez plaintiffs, allowing them to average out their punitive damages awards over three years rather than suffer a one-time tax hit from the Internal Revenue Service.

Anybody have a list of people who voted yes that may consider voting no? It'd be nice to go on the offense

I called the entire list in a matter of about 8 minutes. I said: "My name is Ron Drioane. I am calling to thank the congressman/congresswoman for his/her no vote on the bailout and to urge him/her to vote no again. He/She is a true patriot. Thank you very much."

Its easy and their staffs were very appreciative.

With a bill that has $130 Billion more than the original plan, how can they vote for this plan which is even worse. And how did John McCain who stated, I'll veto any bill with pork and make them famous vote for this?

local FAUX channel just had Rep. Steve C. LaTourette on, listed above. This SOB said at first he was against it but is now convinced "the government must do SOMETHING!" We need to tell him what he must do!
The anchor added that earlier in the week calls to LaTourette's office were running 200-1 against the bail out. Now that people are seeing it could affect their 401k's, "those calls have stopped."

I made mistake of eating supper in front of the tv....... not feeling so well right now.
