It's Not Over Yet. We Still Have About A Day and A Half Left To Continue To Call, Fax and Email The House
Submitted by cactus1010 on Wed, 10/01/2008 - 21:25
After all, the House...is referred to as the people's House and we are the people.
They have always been more receptive to the people than the elitist Senate.

Old Media Playbook
The final solution on behalf of the banking cartel is to have the federal government guarantee payment of the loan should the borrower default in the future. This is accomplished by convincing Congress that not to do so would result in great damage to the economy and hardship for the people. From that point forward, the burden of the loan is removed from the banks ledger and transferred to the taxpayer."
G. Edward Griffin
No more paper.
Delay this vote.
Keep calling
Tell your reps that we will protect them from their threats. They need not fear, fear is for fools and the tool of tyrants.

What if the government was unable to sell more Treasury bills? What if China and Japan began to sell? Wouldn't the Treasury be forced to mint money? Then we would have a commodity backed currency, although copper isn't my idea of the best, it is still better than paper debt.
Seems to me that if we want to take power away from the elite who benefit from the Federal government, then people need to stop holding and investing in T-bills and put wealth in their own bank. An investment in T-bills empowers the elitists controlling the Federal government. Remember T-bills are just paper, just like FRNs. Withdrawling our investment is their biggest fear. Holding onto T-bills locks up dollars as they say. I suggest investing in something other than T-bills such as your local economy, food, supplies, silver and gold. These items stimulate our economy and the individual is empowered. But, what the hell do I know?

U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus reconsidering his vote on economic bail

I have a case of whiplash," Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., told Bachus. "I thought you voted for this."
Amazing, looks like the Bailout might fail - keep the pressure on!!!
Might gets some YES to switch to NO, and the vote could be USEFUL to help the YES->NO switchers get re-elected.
BUUUUUUMMMMMMPPPPPP!!!!!!

Pelosi
said they will not take a second vote until it will pass.
So, let's pray for a looooooooooong delay!
If they did otherwise, it would further solidify our concerns.
KEEP CALLING!

Great forum
I planted a very strong message at Senator Gordon Smith's message machine in Washington, D.C. There's a strong force going up against him for the Nov. election. I ended by telling him he was a piece of "you know what"! Hate to be angry, but I am. They are sneaky and tricky and there was so much pork in that Bailout! Didn't they tell us we were facing a catastrope? But, it's business as usual. Greg Walden got a strong e-mail and I requested a response. He's a Rep. and voted yes the first time. Good article by Ron Paul on the Lew Rockwell site. Thanks for listening.

Trader Dan Comments On The Bailout Bill
Author: Dan Norcini
Dear CIGAs,
The whole world will end unless Congress passes this bill we are warned… this bill is about freeing up the credit markets we are told….Wall Street must be bailed out or else Main Street will fall we are told….
Yes indeed, we must make certain that employees that ride bicycles to work instead of driving those dirty cars can have their employers can pay for those expenses….
Unreal – this has become nothing but a pork barrel spending project loaded with goodies….

URGENT MESSAGE--TAXING OIL COMPANIES PART OF THE PORK
This is just truly HORRIBLE---my husband is an engineer for EXXON and said they are already paying close to $60 billion ALREADY, which is already gouging them to death, now, these theiving Senators want more and decided to stick it to THEM.......PASS THIS CRITICAL INFORMATION ON TO THE MEDIA & TO THE VOCAL REPRESENTATIVES LIKE MARCY KAPTUR & RON PAUL
By DAVID IVANOVICH Copyright 2008 Houston Chronicle Washington Bureau

WASHINGTON — The oil companies may not be able to duck a final punch from Capitol Hill.
Before approving a massive financial bailout package Wednesday, the Senate attached language that would hit the oil and gas companies up for higher taxes to help fund tax credits for renewable energy and other tax breaks.
The House is expected to take up the measure Friday.
The legislation would freeze the tax deduction oil and gas companies receive for their domestic manufacturing operations at 6 percent, while other American manufacturers will see that deduction rise to 9 percent in 2010.
That provision will raise $4.9 billion over 10 years.
The legislation would raise another $2.2 billion by tightening the rules applying to oil and gas companies' taxes on income earned overseas.
And the new measure would raise $1.7 billion by increasing what producers must pay to the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund from 5 cents per barrel to 8 cents per barrel starting in 2009 and then 9 cents a barrel in 2017.
Oil industry leaders oppose those provisions but recognize they will probably pass both houses.
"Congress continues to talk a lot about producing more energy here in the United States, but now they want to pass tax increases that are actually going to discourage that new oil and gas production," said Mark Kibbe, a tax policy analyst for the American Petroleum Institute, an industry trade group.
"And that makes very little sense to us."
Are you guys still
Are you guys still contacting your Reps?
ABSOLUTELY!! Do I have to give you my Rocky speach??

Nice
Are you repeatedly targeting the same congressmen? I called all of mine because most of their emails were down. Should I call them all again?
Sure you should!
Start with the ones that are reportedly on the fence to encourage them to vote against the Bailout, and make sure you contact the ones in your state that voted NO and thank them and ask them to stand firm and vote NO again.
Today I printed off a Dear Congressman letter from a Daily Paul post and faxed it to quite a few congressmen.
We can't stop now----the battle is ongoing!

ON IT!
ON IT!
My letter
Dear Rep. Phil English,
I want to thank you for your wise decision to vote NO on the first bailout. I trust that you will stay strong and vote NO again to this revised version which is not much better than the first, and in some ways worse. Most Americans would agree that we are in a difficult situation, how to deal with it is the question. THIS BAILOUT BILL IS NOT THE ANSWER! There are alternatives out there (several congressmen already have a drafted plan) that do not reward reckless banks at our expense wile transferring power away from congress to Paulson (former CEO of Goldman Sachs). But they are not being brought to light as everyone is distracted by the media trying to sell us this “rescue package,” “bailout” “Economic Stabilization” whatever they want to call it does not change the damage it will do to our nation! The damage has been done by the Federal Reserve, and this is where the scrutiny should be focused. Audit the Fed and hold them accountable!
I keep hearing from misdirected congressmen that “It does not matter how we got here, just that we must now get out of it.” Well they tried bailing out Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and AIG. This is not working. Only an insane person will continue making the same mistake over and over with the same failing results. IT IS VASTLY IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND HOW WE GOT HERE! If we could only focus on the real problem we could see it is time to end the Federal Reserve’s stranglehold on our economic future!
I am proud to have a Representative that will stay true to his convictions, I trust you will again vote NO to the bailouts.
Thank you,
If anyone would like me to spam their reluctant congressman ..
Give me the state and congressional district ... I will be more than happy to add a new IP address to their hopefully growing list. If you feel inclined, please do the same for me with Sestak, PA C.D. #7
That would be great
Greg Walden (R - 02) Oregon (voted AYE last week) Thank you
Lysa, What part of 2nd district are you?
We need to work together to unseat Greg Walden. I have worked on him without stopping for the past week or so. His E. Oregon office person told me the county payments bill (pork) was included in the bailout. That is Greg's 'baby', and I am sure that was his 'payment' for voting the way he did.
However, even with the county payments (money to take the place of non-existent timber receipts for schools and roads) our schools are closing, and just this week another mill closed down, 50 more families with no source of income!
Why are you wasting taxpayer $$$$ ?
Do you intend to prevent legitimate unique posts? It is easy to sort spam from constituent posts. Spammers don't count.
There may even be an opposition out there that is trying to hide the fact that there is a grassroots groundswell. How? by spamming.
Many of us have corresponded for years with our representitives and you are blocking our way by clogging the internet tubes.
According to the Columbus
According to the Columbus Dispatch Tiberi of the 12th Ohio District is wavering from his No vote on Monday.
This is looking bad. The pork hounds knew the weaknesses of various representatives to get them to switch their vote. They got both of Ohio's Senators, so let's hope enough will stay strong on this that it will not even come to a vote. Or better yet that it comes to a vote and goes down in flames once more.

Just spoke to Rep. DeFazio's office
Was told that he plans on introducing his bill in the House. Says bill has several co-sponsors. Asked him if he had any sense of how the vote was going to go tomorrow, said he didn't. Asked if he was getting a lot of calls, said Oh yes. Also asked if he was getting more people who were opposed or more people who were for. Said definitely more opposed.
Also told my Rep's office that I supported the DeFazio alternative plan. That it would solve the immediate problem and it would buy enough time to enable Congress to investigate other permanent alternatives to solving the root cause of this problem.
The person who answered the phone heard of the DeFazio altenative plan, but thought he wanted to add it to the existing bill. Told I didn't think that was the case and suggested my Rep. talk to DeFazio about his alternative plan.
She did remind me that my Rep did vote NO on Monday. But she didn't know how he was going to vote on the Senate bill. I told her I hoped it would be still be NO and that I was strongly opposed to any form of bailout and power transfer to Paulson. Said she'd pass my message onto the Congressman and thanked me for calling.
Keep up the good work.
We will succeed.
We can stop this if we put our minds to it.
What if the government was unable to sell more Treasury bills? What if China and Japan began to sell? Wouldn't the Treasury be forced to mint money?
Seems to me that if we want to take power away from the elite who benefit from the Federal government, then people need to stop holding and investing in T-bills and put wealth in their own bank. An investment in T-bills empowers the elitists controlling the Federal government. Remember T-bills are just paper, just like FRNs. Withdrawling our investment is their biggest fear. Holding onto T-bills locks up dollars as they say. I suggest investing in something other than T-bills such as your local economy, food, supplies, silver and gold. These items stimulate our economy and the individual is empowered. But, what the hell do I know?
grant
Both NH reps
have crashed email systems as far as I can tell or they just turned them off. Both are Dems that voted NO the first time. I doubt they hold the line!

Good luck to us!
Fear is for fools, wise men plan ahead for hard times.
There you go again trying to scare people. We aren't afraid of our military, many are on our side, the side of the Constitution. Besides, the military is only made up of a small percentage of the population, the resistence is made up of many many more. The elite socialists have more to fear than we do.
