Massive Public Revolt Tomorrow?
Submitted by NCMarc on Wed, 10/01/2008 - 23:18
Tomorrow I am going down to my bank first thing and withdrawing all my money but about $5 to keep it open. Then I will buy things of value, guns, ammo, alcohol, and other materials that will be needed for the Revolution.
Tomorrow about 100 million people are going to be really angry. I'm guessing something is gonna happen and it ain't gonna be good. Someone will have lost it somewhere.
There will be mass panic. Mass depression.
I hope you all bought lots of food. I was at the store tonight and nothing was on sale, everything was up 20%. We bought a few bags of veggies and it was $45. Things are already going up.

lol
You're just taking your money out now?
You're pretty late to the party here at the daily paul I think.

The most important thing to own is a power generator
The first thing that happens in a war of any type is you lose power, communications, always have a generator ready.

Solar Generator
We bought several solar 'generator' set-ups which use a PV solar panel hooked up to a Xantrex power generator (a deep cell battery and converter). You can run up to 1500 watts - enough to power most appliances and small electronics. We also purchased some infrared heaters to keep warm this winter (don't ahve a wood stove), which will run on these generators. Of course the key to this set up is enough sunlight.
Here's a couple of sources

You can either buy these ready-made kits, or to save money buy each component part separately.
Thanks for the tip on that
Thanks for the tip on that generator. I have a gas one, but even with all my gas cans full and the gas stabilized, I could probably only run it full time for a week or so. At about $1200 this looks like just the ticket.

I would say a woodstove
Heat, cooking and some light and just all around cozy. Never, ever pellet stoves which has electric feed. If you are out of pellets you are out of luck. Wood stove you can always bust up the furniture ! We have woodstove, generator, solar panel with batteries with a power inverter.
We can skin a buck we can run a trout line and country folks can survive !

there will always be wood
perhaps your neighbour wakes up and finds that hundred foot oak tree missing from his front yard one morning :)

A generator is nice,
but we don't know if we can get gas/diesel for it, or if it is affordable. To run a generator for just lights would be a waste of power. We need to stock up on candles, other types of lanterns, and ways to cook food that doesn't require electricity, and have plenty of fuel for it. If your water pump won't work, your toilet and shower won't either. It would be good to start thinking about all these things ahead of time, to be prepared for them.
I use my generator with a back up power storage
It doubles the time you get and it's only used for communication , for cooking and heating go on Kijiji.com and buy a cheap wood stove and keep it operational incase you need it. You get heat and you can cook on it. I have one out in the garage and it's hooked up just in case.

Yes, I do too , as I have only solar
power. But lately we are out of money and out of work, so have been looking into other ways of lights, etc., because it is getting expensive. Plus, eventually solar parts may be hard to find. And the ones who do not know how to store power, or have batteries need to think of all possible ways to survive, and do other things.
fuel
i think that will only last so long... unless you're hoarding fuel.. think if you didn't have power for a week, how you'd survive.

See...this is what I mean by how powerless we are
It is important to know exactly what our strengths and weaknesses are to determine a plan of action.
Our elections are rigged...thus, we cannot 'vote people out'. At best, they'll just switch puppets to appease us.
The media controls what is believed to be the truth for most people...thus, we cannot organize. So our numbers mean nothing.
The have SO much more military might.
If we stop being productive, they'll flood our communities with drug lords, jail us (slavery), and eventually just kill us.
Bottom line...they are willing to do much more than the average Joe.
I'm not sure what, if anything, we actually can do.
They gain your trust with some truth, then they screw you with that trust.
INSURRECTION IS WHAT THEY WANT
They will get funds to quell the insurrection, and then spend it for other purposes - just like they did with katrina!!!
This crap CANNOT BE LET TO CONTINUE. FULL STOP.
Right now your blog is simply information. But in less than 5 minutes you can convert it to power with a tool called "action trigger" which allows people to organize and take action simultaneously only if a good number of people agree. I make no money with this but I want you to use it because I think this is what the web needs right now! We have enough information, but still ZERO POWER! Time to change that.
Check it out and mail me directly to tell me how I can improve it.

Power centers are about to get much, much smaller.
Remember: most people do *nothing*. So a small number of active people can influence society and make a huge difference!! Use this tool, get not ten million, not a million, not 100 thousand, but, say, 10000 people together, or less, depending on your goal, and you can CHANGE THINGS!
History proves to us every single time, that the powerless can't fight armies with indignation and righteousness alone. Power is the PREREQUISITE to do good, or evil. The evil methodically seize power. Time for you to step up to the challenge and play as an adult.

Just how many is a 'few'
bags of veggies? That would put you at least +$10 a bag. Must be some really big bags. That is no where near a realistic price where I am.
Depends
If you buy organic it doen't take long at all to spend $40.00. We are vegatarians, my son a Vegan and I spend easily $150.00 wkly on fruits, veggies and soy, 99% are organic.
"A Financial System on a Precipice"
Bill Buckler has nailed it in his Privateer issue #613
We all need to know this. I quote him here:
"Each weekend crisis has exacerbated the global problem. The Fed's de facto takeover of Fannie and Freddie has sealed the fate of the global market for US 'Agency' debt paper with total foreign holdings having fallen ever since July. 25% of US banks lost money as a direct result of the takeover. It is true that the losses so far are comparatively small (about $US 15 Billion) but the vast majority (85%) of the losing banks are also small, having less than $US 1 Billion in assets.
The Lehman Bros. crisis in mid-September was resolved by the US government staying away from the 158 year-old bank declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The damage done here was profound and global. The Fed's reputation as the "lender of last resort" was damaged probably beyond repair. The Lehman bankruptcy was a direct cause of the much bigger crisis being faced this weekend because Lehman was a counter-party in the huge derivatives market. This led to a seizure in the market for (among other items) the Credit Default Swaps (CDSs) which form a large part of the "illiquid assets" which Mr. Paulson's new bailout plan is designed to mop up. AIG, the world's largest insurance company with a global financial presence, could not be allowed to fail so the Fed injected $US 85 Billion. WaMu could not be allowed to "fail" either. It was "sold" by the government to JP Morgan (shades of Bear Stearns) on September 25 for 1.9 Billion in what was de facto the biggest bank failure in US history. The purpose of the JP Morgan takeover was to prevent the FDIC from having to "rescue" the bank. That would have cost $US 31 Billion, two-thirds of the money the FDIC has available for such purposes.
But all of the above, and indeed all the serial "crises" which the Fed and the Treasury have been dealing with ever since the first cracks appeared in the US mortgage markets early in 2007, were but an overture to what is going on now in Washington. This bailout plan is the last straw. It is an attempt to pretend that the paper "assets" (officially valued at $US 700 Billion but in reality worth on paper at least $US 5 TRILLION) can simply be made to "go away" at a stroke of the legislator's pen. On its "success" depends the last shreds of fiscal credibility maintained by US financial regulators. IT WILL, OF COURSE, FAIL.
The ideas that the government should "run" the economy and that a legal tender fiat "medium of exchange" created by whim out of thin air is the only viable form of money - are facing their latest crisis of confidence. People don't learn from history because they are ignorant of history, let alone rational economic or political theory. But sometimes the debate is literally dragged kicking and screaming back towards fundamental principle. We are on the verge of another episode. Mr. Bush, Mr. Paulson, Mr. Bernanke, and all the powers that be on the "Hill" and on the "Street" know this. Their desperation to literally paper over the situation without coming to grips with it proves this beyond doubt. Their entire power base rests on the system as it stands. That is why they are so desperate, if not to actually save the system, at least to prolong it until, in the words of Lord Keynes, they have reached their "long run".
Lord Keynes, when asked about the "long run" effects of the political, economic and monetary intervention he advocated, responded that: "In the long run, we are all dead". He is, we are not."
I am sure Bill Buckler, if he could, would vote for Dr. Ron Paul
Pass it far and wide if you want to. All the best for Thursday & Friday!

Pull it out!
If we all pulled our cash out of savings and checking from the banks, they would sit up and take notice. I think I'm going to stop direct deposit tomorrow and start using postal money orders to pay bills. Once the banks have no deposits, their profit margin will drop because they can't lend the money out.
Where I am, I was able to get a lot of stuff on sale.
Excellent deals on canned goods, and even bottled water. Cases of bottles as well as gallon jugs. Gas was down 20 cents since yesterday.
I feel as prepared as possible for whatever might happen. We won't starve or dehydrate, that's for sure. What part of the country are you in?
People
Will have to finish watching Sex in The City and the last Re-Run of Friends before they get up to join the revolt. When they arrive make sure you explain to them why they should be revolting because Dancing with The Starts was on last night and they had to update their Facebook Profile and didn't here about the voting results. As long as their grass is green the Cows will keep grazing, they need to miss a few meals before they start getting pissed at the Farmer. One last point, the trick for the Farmer is to not let them see the Slaughter House until the last minute, they aren't supposed to know the Farmer is actually the one who is going to Rapture them.

If we contacted our Ron Paul campaign leaders in each state,
and all those we are inter-connected with throughout our precincts, conventions etc. and direct them to help plan this here on the Daily Paul Forum, we might have a pretty good chance of creating a citizens revolt with the idea of making our voices heard. I have no experience with this but for what its worth we may demand the following, while certainly allowing for other suggestions:
1) Overwhelming vote of no confidence in our leaders
2) We the people demand 'sound' money, not inflated fiat money
3) We demand our leaders uphold and obey our Constitution or they should be forcibly removed from office!
4) We will not take out 'infinite' loans in our great grandchildrens' names for the sake of criminal extortionists in our government!
5) We overwhelmingly nominate Dr. Ron Paul and all those elected leaders who support and understand Austrian Economics be immediately appointed to positions of Secretary of the Treasury as his advisers
People, we have to reach all those who have legal expertise on this so we can truly pull this off and learn a thing or two or three in the process!
This is what I sent out to my connections:
Let's put our heads together people and create a plan. Somebody on Daily Paul suggested the following if the Bailout passes the House on Friday. Go here:
http://www.dailypaul.com/...
We need people who have some good knowledge of our bicameral system procedures for a citizens revolt! The ball is going to be in ALL our courts, 3.3million citizens across this country, less all those who wanted this mayhem.
If you have suggestions, guidance, ideas please bring this to the Daily Paul. Sign on as a member of the forum. We need a central place to plan.
Perhaps, those campaign leaders for Ron Paul in each State (they have the email addresses of all of us) can help with the dissemination of the best plan.
It's all up to us now. I say we need to maintain our moral, legal ground here and not lose our cool.
(Damn, I wish I studied law instead of Art! LOL)

Most meetup leaders...
have been contacted SO many time, about SO many "Crisis-Act Now!!!" situations...
Whether it was the Steve Parent "Delegate" stuff... or the foolish too-late-on-the-day "Money-Bomb" attempts... or well, half a dozen other "Cry Wolf" scenarios.
They've happened so often that most of us just ignore any of the attempts to "direct" or "organize" us. Those who run the meetups that are still in existence are either the activist type (in which case they are already doing what you are suggesting) -- or they are the long-term solid type (in which case they are watching and doing and advising members to do what they think is prudent).
Stay cool. And realize that trying to "push" a grassroots thing is somewhat fraudulent as well as ultimately ineffective; and if it IS effective, then it is really no longer grassroots, but rather a centrally driven "astroturf" operation -- one where a few shout loud enough to FAKE the listeners into thinking they are the masses.
I think that MOST of the "phone calls" that the legislators received on this issue (Bailout Bill) were truly spontaneous. RP and RP supprters *may* have had an effect, but more as a result of over a years worth of education and information dissemination than as a result of some "programmed" call-in campaign.
I wish I'd studied...
marksmanship.
