My Response to the Call of "The Loft" at GOPUSA.com to be Civil.

I am tired of being told to be "civil". Until about a decade ago I would try to support the GOP. I'd work hard to get a conservative elected only to have a well funded RINO go against them (shall we forget Spectre v. Toomey in PA?), and then if we succeeded the RINOs would tell everyone "vote your conscience if you don't like the conservatism of our candidate".

Gingrich shut down the government until he decided to be more civil to Rather, Brokaw, and Jennings instead of the base. Bush is DESTROYING our military in a perpetual yet growing stalemate, but maybe that is a good thing if I want a smaller government. The dollar is crashing and people are being forclosed and thrown out of their homes courtesy of GOPreenspan. And you tell ME to be civil?

I suppose I should be. I should follow my Lord's example - Jesus was civil to Judas when he was (literally) sold out. And what meaning has "being civil" in a time and place where civilization is being destroyed as we stand back and watch? Perhaps Thomas Paine should have been more "civil" when he wrote "Common Sense"? There is a time for civility, and a time for righteous indignation.

And there is a time for action. For now, it is to support Ron Paul, and encourage support for him in whatever form it takes. Let the cheaters, cowards, and sellouts be the one to keep silent. Let freedom ring! Loudly! Raucously!

Our civility has been repaid with apathy and ignorance. Perhaps the alternatives may fail, but it won't be for lack of effort. We will not be ignored. We will not settle for empty promises from people who have no honor. That is all we got from these complainers for two decades. No more. It is your turn to bow and do what you are told - and we are doing the telling. We were the good little republicans, now it is your turn to follow as you've utterly failed to lead.

We are here to restore the republic. The republic which generations have fought and died for. Where there are markers over graves where people spilled their blood for something even more precious. Not the comfortable take care of me socialism, but raw and hard liberty. Freedom. In all its terrible glory and power.

We shall return to the civilization of our forefathers. The design of Civil government based on God and reason. Then America will again be "Civil". And we will have the freedom to be Civil again. Civil? You don't know the meaning of the word. But we do. We really do. Come and learn from us. Join us. Return to Civility in America at her foundations. Not in the petty squabbles over a few political bones. Such is not worthy of anyone who would even pretend at being a patriot.

Revolution

Whats so civil about a revolution? Do they just not understand?

My position

If I am registered GOP then I have a right to have the opportunity to listen to Ron Paul in their debates. RP has the following, he has the money and I am registered GOP. If they don't even want to listen to their own party then after the primaries and election, the GOP is going to be on the outside looking in on all of the Americans registering as Independents. They are only hurting themselves and their party. No wonder so many people are tired of the two party system. BUT when President Ron Paul is in office, I will still be in the GOP. Where ever Dr Paul goes, I go and I will not wait until Nov 30th to find out if RP is or is NOT in the debate.

Pay no attention to Bobby Eberle

He is a long time GOP hack past President of Texas Young Republicans and has aspirations as a model. And influence - I don't think so.

Two Words: Jeff Gannon!

I wouldn't worry too much about this guy. Google Bobby Eberle and Jeff Gannon to see their connection. He owns Talon News, the sham organization that gave Jeff Gannon/James Guckert his press credentials. He was also rumored to be considering a run against Dr. Paul for his house seat earlier this year. No matter how nice we play he will never give Ron Paul a fair shake, he is a neocon cheerleader through and through. Just ignore him and his pitiful joke of a website.

Civil but not Silent

Yesterday I read a DP post announcing that Ron Paul was being excluded from the Iowa Caucus I found this frustrating and wanted to stand against this injustice. Like most here, I have donated time and money to this campaign. I am not going to sit by idly and turn the other cheek. We have a right and a responsibility to be heard. My e mail may have been a tad harsh but surprisingly that responded to it. See below.

Yours in the Message,
Mazz

Dear Sir, your blatant and transparent attempt to exclude Dr. Ron Paul from the Iowa Debate is not only undemocratic it is un-American. This Nation's political process has sunk into the depths of tyranny. You set a very poor precedent for young and upcoming Republicans in the state of Iowa. Your treachery will not go unnoticed and will not be forgotten. Political thugs like you will be outed and condemned. Your sophomoric underhandedness isn't playing any longer. We the People are on to your little game and you now play it at your own peril. You sir are a disgrace to the Republican Party, a disgrace to the great state of Iowa and a disgrace to this Nation.

Regrettably Yours,

Mazz

Sorry, tz, but I don't think you get the point...

The people you are berating are the same people we need to be successful. What difference does it make if you are correct, but no one wants to listen. They must LIKE us before they will listen to us. Ask any salesperson. Sad to say but true: people want to support someone they agree with AND someone they like. That was part of tremendous support that Reagan enjoyed. (I am unsure of your age, so forgive me if I am giving you history which you already know. His landslides were partially because of an entire voting block known as the Reagan Democrats.) Those Democrats liked his vision AND the sense of humor that Reagan offered.

Now, we are in the primaries. Dr. Paul would be the first to admit it: His message is great, but he is nowhere near the communicator that Reagan was. Very often, we will be the first impression that anyone has of Dr. Paul Yes, we will get some crossover votes (thank God) from Independents and Democrats. But we will not win without at least a quarter of the people you seek to dismiss.

I, too, sent an email to Mr. Eberle. Yes, I did point out the events of the week after the SC debate, where Dr. Paul was repeatedly admonished, by talk radio hosts, by the GOP Chairman, from Michigan to South Carolina. But I also thanked him for his suggestions, and took them at face value. For us to succeed, we will need his support. Or at the very least, we will need him to not be Dr. Paul's enemy.

When you reply to a blog or to a story, ask yourself: is your goal to make a Friend for Dr. Paul? an Enemy? Or just make a point? In this fight, we need Friends!

Peace be with you.

And if they are already a sworn enemy?

We need friends, but I don't understand how doing the same things we have for the last 20 years is going to change anything.

Businesses need customers, not "friends". Their suppliers won't take friendship.

Dr. Paul needs votes. I doubt half the people who support him would consider him a friend even assuming he wasn't so busy that he could be a friend. Or he is the type of friend that would do the hard thing even if it meant you suffering if it would end up to your benefit. Not the nice, rich, doting uncle that buys you candy and ice cream.

I cannot gain him a single vote by having the GOP machine continue to push the mushy moderates when they aren't pushing outright liberals. Paul is not such. He cannot be confused with the rest of the pack.

Nor has he compromised. What can I offer them? That he will build their desired bridge to nowhere? That he will fund a new entitlement? No. Only stark self-reliance. Thrift. Prudence. These are the only things he offers.

Dr. Paul is divisive. People cannot be neutral on him. It is pointless to attempt to gently explain that he has never compromised to people who want him to compromise. That he never raised taxes to people who want to raise taxes. That he will "go along to get along" when he won't.

All we have to offer is truth and honor, and at a time when our country is at the precipice and those will be the only things which can save it.

How can you sugar-coat truth without turning it into a lie? You can tell the truth without being offensive unless the person is offended by truth itself.

How can you make the hard but honorable thing anything else without losing integrity? You can appeal to the better angels of their nature, but if they've gone over to the devil there is no common ground.

If they do not like it, they won't vote for him anyway. But they need to be offered the stark choice. Truth, honor, and integrity, or lies, betrayal, and compromises.

Should the first impression of Dr. Paul be that of just another slick, lying politician? Even if that might get their attention?

Hurt the Neo-Cons more by supporting the Party Dr. Paul's way.

I agree that there is a tremendous amount of duplicity from the article mentioned. It does seem indeed that much of the Republican Party leadership expects support from the Ron Paul camp while providing none in return. Actually that is too generous. They tend to do much to oppose him.

That being said, there is a significant amount of value in what he is saying. For starters, Ron Paul himself repeatedly has talked about being the only candidate bringing in new members to the party. He has also in various articles mentioned reinstating the “Robert Taft Wing” of the Republican Party. I actually have no desire to hear the ridiculous drivel from the Neo-Cons, but the more people that they see supporting the party and not their crazy agenda, it can only give those words of Ron Paul further credibility in the eyes of the undecided. I thought Corie Whalen’s post on this subject a few days ago was particularly good. I find myself bummed that I agreed to take a job that keeps me traveling almost all the time shortly before I found out about the election and have not been able to do much of this.

Also, I do believe that some of the bellicosity of supporters could turn off many potential supporters, particularly those that that really want to be conservative Republicans but have been deceived by the party leaders (Those who we need to vote for Ron Paul in the closed primaries). I have seen it several times. At the Iowa straw poll, whoever was leading the big Ron Paul supporter parade decided to take a short cut across one of the other candidate displays. Being near the back, I heard some of the people there talking about how rude his supporters were. I could easily put myself in their shoes. It would have only required a couple hundred feet of additional marching to be considerate and go around thereby not alienating these people. While waiting in line for the famous Mackinac Island ferry to the mainland at the Michigan Republican conference and straw poll, I saw something again along this line. Three of the college age girls having a vacation at Romney’s expense saw Gulag-iani(my preferred term) coming up, removed the Romney T-shirts they had on over their other clothes, said “anybody but Ron Paul,” and rushed up to get their pictures taken. The came back with a sheepish look saying “OK, so we are turncoats.” They thought that too many Paul supporters were rude. On the ferry ride with Giuliani locked in the cabin, the “Ron Paul, Ron Paul” chants were great, the “speech, speech” chants were one of the funniest things I have ever heard, but some of the insults by only one or two people seemed to add nothing but could have made it look like this really was the bunch of idiots that our detractors say we are. We know his character, but unfortunately, it cannot be communicated to others who do not if they think the person saying it is not to be believed. While I understand the motivation, I was just praying that the news reporters onboard did not make that the focus turning what was such a great experience by so many into a Ron Paul bashing exercise. Fortunately, they did not.

Bottom line, I could be wrong, but I think that anything that can be done to improve our Republican support can only help the campaign and hurt the neo-con camp.

The GOPharisees are a lost cause.

Jesus wasn't nice to the Pharisees, he even called them sons of the devil, and it was clear that they were the enemy, not the pagans nor the fallen prostitutes and tax collectors.

What will it gain to be nice to the neocons and the GOP party hacks? There might be a few party hacks, but they don't and won't respect us. No one was nasty to Saul Anuzis - MI GOP head before he came out and demanded Paul be removed from the debates going forward.

Lets say everyone was nice during the Ames event - they would just say we were trying to get on their good side. Every action, whether nice or nasty is condemned. Worse, it is their candidates that are guilty of playing the games. Ron Paul is Ron Paul and had been for as long as I've been watching, which goes back to the Reagan years.

If we must depend on any help from them, our cause is already lost. They hate - and I do not use that word lightly - us and Dr. Paul and everything we stand for. We do want to destroy their facade, but not out of anger, but in the same way that even one candle will destroy the darkness near it.

If you look, my ID number here is 3. My first post stated it would be the exodus across the desert, not the blessings of liberty in both the campaign and presidency. That is even more true today.

We need to take the republican party back from every one of these traitors, thieves, liars, and frauds who are running it. Our country and our liberty is dying. Much as we watched as Terri Schiavo was slowly starved to death, only slower. And the enablers in the right wing media are cheering every goal the GOP makes for the opposing team. Medicare entitlement! Rah Rah Rah! Bridges to nowhere? Go Team GOP! Amnesty for Illegals? 9-11, 9-11, 9-11!

Revolution is right. We are at war with the enemies of liberty. And the moment being civil gives them one inch of ground we should be uncivil. These people calling us "rude" either actively or passively want to destroy America or let it be destroyed. If it is ignorance, politely inform them. But it is long past that stage. How many years since Reagan? Can you name a single small-government conservative victory at the hands of these "leaders"? Think hard. The few I can come up with are tiny or so compromised that it would have been better to lose (like the phased tax cuts with expiration - we simply postponed losing for a few years).

Those people calling us rude are promoting candidates who will implement 90% of Hillary Clinton's policies and 100% of her tyrannies. What do they say when you politely point this out? That we will go bankrupt? A depression worse than the 1930s? Inflation worse than the 1970s? That we are creating terrorists? That their children and grandchildren will live in something that looks like the slums in South America or sub-Saharan Africa? What do these people calling us names have to say to the destruction and desolation being wrought by the GOP leadership in collusion with the Democrats?

Jesus would eat with publicans and prostitutes. We have financiers, feminists, and anti-war activists all joining us. They recognize truth and honor and prefer it to their set of cheating cronies. They realize that America itself is at risk. That they won't have any freedom even if they are allowed their issues like the crumbs given to dogs.

And that is how we will win. We have declared a revolution. Now we must implement it. The "loyalists" were the enemies of our founding fathers. They were not treated politely or civilly. The Boston tea party was not an act of civility, yet we are scheduling that day for another big money bomb.

We are putting the REPUBLIC back in the REPUBLICAN party. Freedom back in the party that freed the slaves. Sound money back as the constitution says is the only legal tender. It is the party of the corporatists and plutocrats and aristocracy no more. And the disappointed democrats, and those who are apathetic out of despair will have a reason to vote again. For the Republic. For Ron Paul.

Choose today if you prefer being a polite slave, or a free citizen who will not only speak truth to power, but be willing to tear down that power if they will not listen.

My declaration of independence from the GOP King-George makers starts at the middle of the above reply. I will fight to restore the republic and against any king or queen and their court even if they be in the White House and halls of congress. Will you join me?

We are all in this together.

Wow, TZ, I was not trying to insult you or cause you to spend that much time on this, as I am sure it could be better spent elsewhere. I am indeed in this to the full contribution amount, tons of time, chip-ins etc. even if I am not a frequent poster. I agree completely with the need to fight hard to acquire the nomination. I am simply trying to point out that part of what I thought I read in the article seemed to imply that we should pick our battles appropriately not flaming every post that disagrees with us. Facts seem to me the best weapon.

My personal and professional experience has shown me that too many times people will dig in their heels when one starts out in conflict. It then takes too long to ever get cooperation. I spent almost all of today handing out literature and trying to talk to people about Ron Paul. However, I am quite certain that if I were to start the conversation with "Hey moron read this - IF you can" while flipping them off, there would be little hope in getting most people to look into our position. My point was that some actions and posts can avoid this deleterious effect with very little effort.

And as far as recovering the party, in my state, Michigan, where the primary may be cancelled, playing by the party rules becomes essential to have any hope of getting the delegates. In any case, I do not know of any serious supporter that plans to give up, and I certainly do not.

Wish I'd said that

"We will not settle for empty promises from people who have no honor." Damn, I wish I'd said that. Powerful prose Citizen tz. Thank you.

Dr. Paul is probably paying something per transaction

There is often a per transaction cost for accepting credit card payments, in addition to a small percentage. In addition, individual payments less than $200 are not generally reported in the reports. So I can't recommend that Paul supporters start breaking up their donations into strange, small amounts. That isn't going to help anything.

I would rather see us match all of Mitt's $44 contributions with $440 contributions for Dr. Paul!

BTW, I saw today that ... I can't even say the F word... that some other presidential candidate has someone trying to get a money bomb started for November 21. I bet we could beat his out, on his day, without trying.

What they don't understand is..

..and I've written to explain, is that when article begin with derogatory name calling statements like the one on CBS did the other day, they get what they deserve. It's hard to mind your temper, but they are just asking for it by baiting people. So far I've gotten no response from Mr. GOP.

Yes the Democrat/Spenders/Socialists have infiltrated the Republican party -- time we infiltrated them back and took back the party and made it the OPPOSITE of theirs....

tz A+

This is as civil as I can get on the topic. My reply will not likely see airtime on 'The Loft'...

The Loft / Bobby Eberle
re: Civility is Essential

Dear Mr. Eberle,
Ok, I'll byte. Why aren't there more Ron Paul stories?

I will admit that some of the 'avid online supporters' of Dr. Paul are aggressive. I would imagine that this has been the case in most of America's history.

I would think that the British parliament was aghast when a band of ragtag American Patriots refused to pay taxes to fund causes that were dictated by the established noblemen of the day. And imagine Their shock when these 'commoners' refused to stand in a line and be fired upon. Instead, They conducted warfare in such a rude manor as to defeat the nobles at any and all cost. If not for them, We colonist would be supporting the Prince of Whales and his family with our tax dollars today.

And yes, Some of Dr. Paul's supporters hold the Republican party and it's leadership in disdain. To some, The GOP must represent the same isolated thinking that must have driven the ruling class to bleed the commoners of their rights and dignity in the past, All for personal gain. I would venture to guess that a lot of my esteemed citizens of the Democratic party feel equally abandoned by their representatives.

I am sorry to hear that 'The Loft' has been reduced to parroting the stories of the Associated Press. I hope that in the future GOPUSA will once again, Have an army of 'friendly and professional' young journalist that will volunteer to pour their hearts and souls out across your pages. They deserve a worthy cause to fuel their ambitions.

I do indeed intend to get the message out, Drum up support, and see what happens. All I ask is a level battle field.

Thanks,
L. Spencer

republicrat illusions

'tz', my good person, you know what is indeed going on!! Thank you for this post! It reminded me of my attempts years ago to "get involved". I joined the National Rifle Association, National Right to Life and other organizations that supposedly espoused views akin to mine. Instead of simply giving them money(which is all they REALLY wanted), I went to conventions and meetings where I found out that they did not want commoners to be telling them how to run 'their' organizations. Simply money making rackets, taking money from concerned citizens. The two political parties work the same way. They want to set the agenda, take our money and yet expect us to continue to support them. This is INSANITY!! I have run across a great forum that is trying to eleminate the left vs. right; black vs. right class warfare that had divided us. it is called www.leftrightunite.com
Check it out.

A little naive wouldn't you say?

This is just another ploy to get the communist camel's nose under the tent. Surely you can't believe the same thing a bunch of socialists do?

DONATE NOV 11TH IN INCREMENTS OF $44 TO INSULT ROMNEY

Romney has a grass-roots movement asking for $44 dollars to elect the 44th president of the USA - I say we turn the tables and make *all* donations for $44 - if you agreed to donate $100 then do two donations at $44 and one donation at $22
The media will pick up on this and Romney will be made to look... we.... dumped on... I know its sick and twisted but it MAY work....

Astroturf wars

Romney might get a lot of donations, but might not break even. I remember the Romneybuses at the Ames straw poll.

If he pays $50 per $44 astroturf-roots contribution, I can only hope he gets more donations than Ron Paul.

I'll have to think about it. For those who can afford it, $144, or $444?

Meanwhile I've noticed a bit of afterglow from the 5th.

And here is another one of the insults. At the DesMoines candidate forum, he was not invited. So he rents the hall next door and gets about twice as many people. They say the internet polls aren't accurate, but say they have anti-duplication systems. And now we show that - just on the internet with credit cards, and without the campaign pushing it - he sets a record for one-day fund raising. But no matter what, they keep saying he is not in the top tier, they ignore him, disrespect him, and insult him and also us.

And all these acts of public incivility go unchallenged while a few posts buried in response to an errant blog post are pointed to as bad examples. Nor will they discuss the acts of compromise better labeled betrayal.

We've done everything necessary and even more to show Ron Paul is a serious candidate, his issues and ideas are serious, and he can win.

Yet the late-comer Thompson gets more respect and airtime.

At this point, we don't need them. But they will need us. And I'm tired of being told to go to the back of the bus when we should be driving!

There is no arguing with someone who has abandoned both reason and honor. They are they ones who deserve to be disrespected.

(Maybe Ron Paul should ask Guiliani if he has read the 9/11 commission report yet - he should interrupt Rudy when he is going on about terrorism).

Let them worry about forming a 3rd party that will be friendly to RINOs when Ron Paul is nominated.

They can whine and moan, but they've shown themselves to be powerless in every other area it matters, so they have nothing with which to oppose us. Their machine is rusted and broken. It hasn't had any real opposition so they've not noticed. We have nothing to fear from them, nor need anything they have.

Their time is past. They are history. We are now. We are the future. Yet we are also the tradition and the foundation, both of which they abandoned. Our taproots go down into the bedrock to make us grow to the sky and yet be unmovable.

Uh, make that $12...check the math (nt)

...

YOU ARE SOO RIGHT

Those who refuse to heed the handwriting on the wall, and can claim no mental handicap as an excuse, deserve to be led to the slaughter.
And I for one will gleefully hail their demise as a means to rid our species of their inferior DNA. They have truly earned their Darwin Awards.

I no longer waste my spirit trying to educate the hopeless.
Our time is better spent guiding the lost, yet willing, souls to the light.
Only they can help turn us away from our headlong stampede into the New World Order.

People who deny us our liberty, while they seek constant care from cradle to grave, should be given free and easy access to their last government handout - an all expense transfer to the socialist country of their choice.

After all, don't they belong with the rest of those that "hate us for our freedom"???

Civility VS silence

I have no problem with civility....to an extent. When it comes to denying what my beliefs are , and voting for someone who is 180 degrees out of phase with my beliefs, I'll vote third party first!

Wanna watch Rudy crawl under a rock? Try this one on for size:

The next time Rudy G. begins snickering before Ron Paul responds to a question...I'd pay $500 to see this happen :

Rudy: snicker snicker

Paul: Excuse me Mr. Moderator, before I reply to your question...there is something that I'd like to address. Mr. G, I don't mind too much that you disrespect me with your mechanical sophmoric giggles, but I must speak out for the millions of Americans that support my campaign. Mr. G, each time you laugh at my replies, you show disrespect to my Constituentcy. Please knock it off and give the Voters the same common courtesy that I've always shown you.

Now...Mr. Moderator would you please repeat your question and hopefully this time I'll hear you better...thank you.

APPLAUSE...APPLAUSE...APPLAUSE.
GRAND SLAM AND RUDY IS REMOVED FROM THE MOUND.

The ball is out of the park

That would be sooo fun. I would love to see Rudy withdraw either some of his insults or withdraw his candidacy. Ron Paul has so much more class than Rudy,( or Huckabee, for that matter.)

I'd pay to see that too. We

I'd pay to see that too. We should start a website to pledge at least $100 to Ron Paul if he does exactly that next time! LOL

Give Me Freedom

If Tyranny And Oppression Come To This Land, It Will Be In The
Guise Of Fighting A Foreign Enemy. James Madison

I'm on board

My spouse and I would both be on board for that!

Even better...

Just turn and look at him until he stops, then ask, "Are you done now, Mr. Guliani?" Then turn back and answer the question...

Nothing like public humilation!

standing ovation

That is what I would hope would happen if Ron Paul ever got that opportunity. I'd stand, I'm sure most , if not all, of you would too

YEEEEAH!

Oh god, please let that happen.

Kicked off

I was kicked off in May for just mentioning his name. I guess it is a froum for neoconservatives only. What happened to the big tent? I said the word "neocon" and they called it a slur. Mr. Kristol dubbed himself a neocon didn't he? I thought it meant aggressive foreign policy, they said it was a cut on jews. I couldn't believe that. I never heard that before. Just my naivete.

I can bet we would debate the issues if they decided to come over here, but I be we would be much more civil.

Excuse me? Do you even know what GOPUSA is?

its the owner of TalonNews.com, the site that had gay whore Jeff Gannon on and the blogosphere exposed him. Far from credible and professional.

Be Civil and Be Heard

"Before I continue, I know there are those who are already getting their typing fingers ready to fire off some nasty e-mail, so please allow me to explain. If you are a general Ron Paul supporter, then that's great. Good for you, and good for your candidate. I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about those who are part of Paul's Internet network who have no sense of civility, decorum, and common manners. These are the people who do a disservice to Dr. Ron Paul."

Okay, so all he is saying is have good manners and don't fire off some flaming email because you are mad. They are absolutely right about those with no sense of civility doing a disservice to Dr. Paul. Treat others as you would like to be treated, and always be aware that when you are talking about Dr. Paul's ideas you are an ambassador. If you behave like a belligerent jerk then you will not persuade people. You will only make them angry.

Look to Sean Hannity as an example. He is a smug jerk, and treats Dr. Paul and others with no respect. Hannity might be the smartest person in the world, but I don't listen to a damn word that man says. I also have no respect for either his intelligence, or his opinion. Dr. Ron Paul on the other hand is very respectful and his ideas ring true and are very well thought out. So be like Dr. Paul. Don't intimidate. Educate.

JOhn

When is Sean Hannity going to be called uncivil?

I am tired of listening to every form of denigration, insult, disrespect from all the faux conservatives for as long as I can remember.

Why isn't anyone calling for Sean Hannity to shut up before he ruins the conservative cause?

For being insulting? For being condescending?

Isn't he causing problems and making every RINO look bad? Or does civility only work one way?

Let the GOP clean out their own Agean stables.

Let them make the first move toward civility if they so desire it.

If they with to hurl insults from behind their screeners and mute-the-caller button, they have no honor, deserve no respect, and I refuse to be civil to such rubbish for one more day!

Let GOPUSA and the rest calling for US to be civil first insist on apologies from the many, many party elite who have been uncivil to us.

Or let them shut up while liberty and truth become louder than the calls for calm compromise!

Or remember Saul Anuzis?

I remember Guiliani rudely interrupting Ron Paul to say "I never heard of such a thing" in one of the earlier debates - something that was in the 9/11 commission report! Then the head of the Michigan GOP called - not for Rude-y to be civil, but for Ron Paul to be banned from further debates!

No, in the face of incivility on the part of the GOP bigwigs I will not be civil. I will not be silent. Let those who demand civility demand it of their own!

Ron Paulers are very Civil

I have been to a lot of meet ups and events. Ron Paul supporters have been civil at the events I was part of.

Maybe we are just reacting to MSM writing about a few isolated events which have been dramatized. Whats specifically was not Civil?

If anyone is ever at a Ron paul rally and someone is bent on being un civil,, I think that person should be considerd a probable plant. keep at least 20 feet away from anyone being rude or promoting bad maners. If you are holding a Ron paul sign get 50 feet away.

You would think at least a

You would think at least a portion of the Republican party would welcome new supporters and get behind Ron Paul. We obviously donate.

Enough of arrogant lessons. Let's prove Bobby Eberle is lying

Let's take a look at what some of the good boys have been saying about Ron Paul, with little regard for Civility or Professionalism.

Anyone who thinks that a man with this in his past can get elected President (as opposed to, say, the Senate seat from West Virginia) is as deluded as Ron Paul. Anyone defending these statements marginalizes himself.

In the end, Ron Paul's just another Democrat: a clueless anti-war moonbat flip-flopper who seems to think that the U.S. government is the source of our problems with Islamist terrorists... It'll be amusing to see how his supporters over at the moonbat sites justify his statements.

Posted by Brennan | May 22, 2007 9:09 AM
He's a loon - perfect for the Democratic nomination! BTW, his supporters haven't stopped attacking polls.

Posted by John | May 22, 2007 9:40 AM
Cap'n -I suggest you stop wasting your breath about Ron Paul and the nuts supporting him. They just want attention - stop giving it to them. Ron Paul is irrelevant, and time is too precious.

Posted by NoDonkey | May 22, 2007 10:53 AM
Wow - lots of people who only show up to shill for loony Ron Paul, who has absolutely zero chance of getting the Republican nomination. From the posts I've read, I imagine a Paul rally as being something similar to an Amway Convention. Only with creepier, less well-dressed attendees.

Just curious, is the Ron Paul Kool-Aid grape-flavored, or Sunshine punch?

Posted by V the K | May 22, 2007 11:22 AM
Gee, Jim, is it too much to ask that someone who carries the ideals of limited government, serious national security, and protection of individual liberty not be a flaming nutjob who panders to 9-11 Truther kooks. The Republican Party is dead to me. But that doesn't mean I'm going to desperately latch onto a flaming whackjob.

It's not that Ron Paul is a barking nutcase, it's that so much of the big L libertarian base is too... So whether or not Ron Paul is or isn't a racist, you now know that large swaths of his supporters are, and proudly so, in defiance of their own logic.

Posted by Kristan Jensen | May 22, 2007 1:52 PM
Well, put Ron Paul's supporters alongside the LaRouche-ies. Nothing quite like watching self-inflicted epistemological rape pursued with such gusto..

Posted by Karl | May 22, 2007 3:40 PM
Wow... post about Ron Paul and the ignorance just bursts forth... I'm asking what the official nutbag spin is on that.

Posted by Immolate | May 23, 2007 10:42 AM
I don't wish to criticize Ron Paul's conservative credentials... Unfortunately, if common sense was pig iron, he wouldn't have enough to forge a fish hook.

Posted by Rich Horton | May 28, 2007 12:18 AM
Ed, I blame you. I quote this post in a little toss away story on my blog and I'm beset with the Ron Paul lunatic fringe. What is scary about these folks is they are ideologues, as fanatical as any addled brained communist ever was, but they just don't see it... Paul offers himself as a panacea, when he isn't even an useful idiot.

Posted by coldwarrior415 | November 6, 2007 9:01 AM
What is more frightening is that among those Paulistas I have spoken with over the past several months is that they actually believe in Paul. Not his policies. But believe in Him, the new Messiah. They truly believe.

Posted by NoDonkey | November 6, 2007 9:09 AM
I for one, will never forget ol' what's-his-name, the stammering coot with the loony followers, who ran for President under the Troother ticket and got pasted. Peter Paul or something.

Posted by Complete7 | November 6, 2007 9:41 AM
And he can't be separated from the conspiracy theorist he has appeared often on the Alex Jones show, the king of conspiracy theorist.

Posted by Jeff | November 6, 2007 9:53 AM
The dogs of truthers and conspiracy therorists are the one lying with Ron Paul. If he doesn't send them running with their tails between their legs don't expect anyone to think he is bothered by tyheir flees... It is clear that Mr. Paul wants the money from the nutjobs and doesn't mind holding them at arms distance to keep them around.

Posted by Justacanuck | November 6, 2007 10:09 AM
I question if this surge in funding for Paul is really anything other than a reaction from the insane leftist contingent following Paul's announcement of his attempt to impeach Darth Cheney. If so, GOOD. That's less money heading for any other lefty anti-war candidate with an actual chance at the Dem nom.

Posted by NoDonkey | November 6, 2007 10:11 AM
Perhaps, but with a isolationist, utopian jackass like Paul at the helm, we'll have numerous more opportunities for sympathy. No thanks.

Posted by La Mano | November 6, 2007 11:39 AM
The Ron Paul tent; 9/11 Truthers, Neo-Nazis, and other kooks. They would be better suited for a circus than a viable political operation.

Posted by njcommuter | November 6, 2007 11:44 AM
A libertarian who won't defend liberty against external threats and fifth columns is no libertarian at all. He stands for license, not liberty.
A libertarian whose knowledge of economics, and especially of the economics of currency, is grounded in fantasy is no libertarian. He is dreamer who believes in magic elixers.

Posted by NoDonkey | November 6, 2007 2:58 PM
I'm thinking that Dr. Paul associating with lunatic, un-American troothers like the vile Alex Jones, makes him unfit to be elected dog catcher, much less President.

Posted by NoDonkey | November 6, 2007 5:02 PM
That's why an ignorant lunatic like Dr. Paul should never be President.

Posted by NoDonkey | November 6, 2007 5:58 PM
Far preferable to the neocons are the neo-Nazis, the 9/11 troofers, the skin heads, the vile Alex Jones and other assorted deranged lunatics who are attracted to the Paul campaign.

Posted by mrlynn | November 6, 2007 7:44 PM
You don't have to be a 'neocon' to understand that Ron Paul is a damned fool, and should not be allowed anywhere near the White House.

Posted by mrlynn | November 6, 2007 9:19 PM
I suppose we should worry that one damned fool is attracting so many others.

It appears that some

It appears that some Americans have shown disrespect to this honorable, hardworking, highly intelligent true American patriot and his supporters since at least May 22. Pretty sad.

Maybe because they feel anonymous, this type of behavior occurs. Can you imagine talking to another person face to face with those words? Do they say those things to make themselves feel superior to others? I don't get it.

I know, maybe they learned it from news commentators and radio talk show hosts.

The media controls the debates

I just found this link and it appears that Fox can control who is on the debates. This happened with a candidate and a Fox debate back in May 2007 and was ruled on by a judge. It appears that the media has alot more power than I ever realized and they are determining what happens to America. My position is that we need a ruling by the Iowa GOP NOW as to whether Ron Paul will be in the debate and not wait until November 30th. Either he qualifies now or he doesn't. I will no longer sit back quietly and allow us to be fooled by these wait and see tactics.

Indeed

I absolutely agree that complacency in appease to the intrapersonal-sociopolitical atmosphere in which we find ourselves today will indeed miss the opportunity for initiating the political change we agree is best for our country. It seems introversion is synonymous with being politically correct, and when expression is given a whisper’s volume has become expected. Yet, we all agree that the whispering-status quo, while being sure to not step on toes, stands as a necessary pretext for tyranny. Thus, turning up the volume is necessary for our political awakening, least we stand by and turn our heads to the continual corruption.

We’ve united in Ron Paul’s message as the timely means by which we tap-into people’s latent distrust and disenchantment with what has become of American politics.

That in mind, let us remember that while the quantity of noise needs to pick up so too the quality. When we give voice let’s be sure we’re well informed, critically sharp, and diplomatic in discussion.

Cheers to a government for the people, and cheers to a collective that is aware of the current injustices.

Revolutions are never polite.

You would be naive in thinking that just because the people want something that the GOP is going to acquiesce without a fight.

Phone and fax.

The Iowa Republican Party, phone: (515) 282-8105 | fax: (515) 282-9019

Iowa is just the beginning of a long marathon.

lets raise some money and stop this in court

http://www.wjopc.com/site...

The above firm could put the fear of God into the republican party of iowa and let them know that they are playing with the devil with Murdock and new york supporting FOX.

They tried this once before in SC(FOX) and almost got away with it before the phones just wouldnt stop ringing...

This time the anti must get raised so that this doesnt happen again.

I would wait a few days

I would phone and ask them to confirm or deny or come out with a statement.

I'd be polite to the workers there, but firm.

Meanwhile, maybe we should reserve the hall next door like last time.

If they will not hear him in the forum, we can make sure they will hear him for a mile in every direction.

Nothing uncivil about you!

From my perspective you acted as an intelligent and patriotic citizen. Love what you wrote! But I understand what you mean. To many being civil is like being sheepish. Well, we are not a sheepish bunch, that's for sure!!! And you can't be sheepish if you are fighting to take our country back!!! Live Free or Die!!!

Damn right TZ

The game playing is over.....we can be obedient after Ron is in office. For now, turn up the heat to ultra-high. Everything is on the line here......EVERYTHING!

Over? Did you say 'over'?

"Over? Did you say 'over'?" "Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!" It ain't over now, because when the going gets tough....................The tough get going!”

Forget it, he's on a roll!

thanx, "Bluto"

Remember, remember

A roll? More of an Immelmann without his straps on. I mean, remember the Arizona if you must, but don't forget the "backdoor" treason...

GOOD ON YA, TZ! I voted for

GOOD ON YA, TZ!
I voted for Ron Paul in 1988 when I first heard him speak and I was outraged at THAT time that he could not get his voice heard. Because he was third party, they shut him out of MSM COMPLETELY. I despaired because I knew that I wasn't alone in my hatred of what these people have done to our country. But how could we find each other and be brought together to get our voices heard? Well, this brave warrior has been fighting these scumbags for the past 20 years since then to get where he is today, and now his voice of freedom and liberty is being heard and it is resonating loud and clear to a daily increasing audience. After the media explosion in the days since our Money Bomb, his words are now ringing across the nation, and I can't help but wonder how many people are sitting up straighter in their chairs all of a sudden. Having followed this man for so long, I could only imagine the feelings of triumph that arose in his breast as he FINALLY, after his DECADES of fighting, saw thousands upon thousands of people digging into their pockets and voting with their wallets for the Free Market candidate, giving him the largest online fundraising day in U.S. history, a record soon to be broken again, unless I miss my guess, as more and more people join our cause. The divergent forces have finally come together, and if we just have one thing to thank George Bush for, it may be that he angered the population into radical action.
