I've only "known" Dr. Paul for less than a year. How this brilliant, wise and humble man has managed to stay so dignified while in the belly of the beast is a mystery to me. I am forever grateful to this extraordinary man, his message and all of you who walk this path.

this is,for me, the "immunity" from bankruptcy that the bankers need to pass now--so that they can loan out without fear of losing their assets,while making more or adding to the serfs that are indebted for life.

With much talk about a "democracy" we forget a very important point: democracies are collectivists regime, and belong to the sphere of thought of socialists and communists.

The US is a republic, not a democracy.
The difference is that in a democracy, the will of the many overrides the will of the few. This is the slippery slope of socialism. In a republic, the will of the many overrides the will of the few to some extent, but not completely, in particular it does not enable a group to wield rights that its constituents themselves don't have.

The struggle in the world today is the latest incarnation of the greatest struggle in human history, that of collectivism vs individualism.

The goals of collectivists are noble in words, but have poor track record and are always hijacked by the few who are supposed to "control" and "enforce" the will of the many.

Individualism is imperfect in theory and in practice, but yields the most freedom for the most people in practice.

As Ron Paul admonished the Bailout Bill in Congress, his voice shook as if we was on verge of tears. One saw in this speech a man speaking with the passion of his convictions. If I was speaking in front of these Orwellian leaders, my voice would be shaking, too.

When Ron Paul spoke of a philosophy, he is absolutely right. He could not be President and expect change. It is up to us, as the American people, to bring our government down to earth. We all need to be ambassadors of truth. Let as many people know as possible, and be a part of the change in philosophy.

We need to build political strength and political will.

Banks? Etc. Might not hurt to check on all our non-representatives.

Looking back now, it's pretty obvious that our trust in government declined at about the same rate as our partisanship increased. People became so concerned about getting their party into power at any cost that the truth didn't even seem to matter anymore.

That's probably one of the reasons why George Washington hated the idea of political parties so much. Here's what he said about them in his 1796 farewell speech:

"The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty."

I know that George had a habit for using big words, so allow me to translate into 2008 English: Political parties that put their own success over that of the country's will be the death of America.

Either the majority of congress is just truly ignorant, with no regard for their obligation to the people who elected them or they cannot or do not do anything but what is told to them via the party pipeline. You cannot help those who will not hear. Perhaps democracy doesn't work. The arm twisting, brow beating, guilt lashing mouthed in the most vapid excuses to ensure a bailout vote for this monstrous albeit transparently concocted renegade bill is embarrassing to all who can read it. Even the race card was played to let people know that they hurt more, therefore you must vote for it...Oh please!!!!!
The senate on the other hand was so lofty with their backslapping praise of each other (with the exception of the idealists who think they can make a difference) leads one to beg the question.... Surely these people should be considered redundant??????? OMG, I'm sorry for the rant but this makes one puke! yuuuuuuuch! .... and don't mollify me senators and reps with "hold your nose" and vote for it anyway... I never heard such tripe! Are they so completely illiterate or just plain stupid that they cannot reason what Dr. Paul is desperately trying to tell them.

Dr. Paul has warned them many times, this being the latest and again they dismissed him. In my opinion, they will "reap what they sowed". Additionally, I just received an email alert from Dr. Paul requesting support for B.J. Lawson who needs $250,000. I went to B.J.'s site and he had already received (through money bomb) about $220,000. This is outstanding and shows that when the good Doc speaks, WE listen.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
IF NOT, THE VERY WORD FREEDOM WILL BE SOMETHING OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WILL REFER TO AS JUST A WORD USED IN ANOTHER FALLEN SOCIETAL EXPERIMENT CALLED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Dr Paul is my favorite politician. It is because of Dr. Paul that I understand economy better than before. Its because of Dr. Paul that I proudly identify myself with the school of Austrian Economics.

It is so sad that America has become a strong example of organized political corruption. It is because of this corruption that the value of the dollar is getting destroyed. This is not only very dangerous for Americans in the long run but also very scary for the rest of the world in the short term. So many people have invested and lent money to Americans and so many countries hold so many dollars in reserves and so many commodities especially oil are traded in dollars. If dollar is not saved from destruction, a global economic panic will erupt and America will fall into a decade long depression. Of course, the rest of the world needs to get off the dollar as quickly as possible (Unfortunately for Americans, it will guarantee the demise of dollar).

I just heard how Frank and Pelosi are beaming with pride, patting themselves on the back. Congratulations!!! You democrats just gave Bush whatever he asked for AGAIN!!!. I thought we gave you Congress to stop him. Seriously ... a do nothing congress

If Ron Paul were running as an independent or as a 3rd party, he'd be leading in the polls right now.

Those two schmucks aren't saying anythign about the problem, and here he is giving us some REAL straight talk.

Anyone else feel that RP gave up a great shot at a win here?

McCain supported this bill from the beginning. RP opposed it it starting 30 years ago. We the People were against it almost 40 to 1, in some districts. Could this single issue have been enough to get a majority of that 40 on our side? Could this have been a landslide for RP?

We'll never know.
