Ohio woman, 90, shoots self during eviction; Fannie Mae forgives loan

During the last depression

it was the Wall Sreeters who were jumping out of buildings. Today they are being bailed out and it's little old Main Streeters who are shooting themselves. What's wrong with this picture?

Read this one a bit ago and

Read this one a bit ago and it is truly pitiful. It does seem however, that Kucinich was trying to make his point of disagreement on the bailout which lies more with lack of 'help' for these pitiful cases. The article did go on to say about local businesses and people wanting to help her. That's the kind of thing that automatically kicks in when the government keeps out of it! Don't think Dennis understands that.

Trust in God, but tie your camel tight.

Cool, so we can all shoot

Cool, so we can all shoot ourselves, how bad does it have to hurt?

Are your neighbors facing eviction?

Do you have any compassion for them? Or do you blame them for this whole mortgage meltdown, or for not being responsible with their budget, or for not keeping their lawn clean up? I am cold, cold cold hearted I guess. I see no difference why this woman's story is any more sad than the young couple who got "experts" to help them into a contract they did not understand. Now the money problems will cause divorces, the kids will get shipped off to public schools, and the sleep spell will be cast on another generation.
Are your neighbors facing eviction? WIll you go stand by them, and tell the bank and the sheriff "NO" - not this time?
Or will you tell them to hang on until they are 90, then you will feel sorry for them?

You've just described my sister's current situation!

Wow the second part of your post, "I see no difference why this woman's story is any more sad than the young couple who got "experts" to help them into a contract they did not understand. Now the money problems will cause divorces, the kids will get shipped off to public schools, and the sleep spell will be cast on another generation." is exactly what my sister is facing. They got into a double-wide and an acre of land, 5 years ago. They were not told the payment until after the papers were signed. Trusting the saleswoman, they figured it would be OK. My sister ended up with a $952 payment that they have never been able to afford. Her husband lost his job earlier this year, and now they face foreclosure.

Precisely!! The banks are not entitled to rip people off

Just because they used tricky language and preyed on many people. LIKE ALL OF US!! FOR THE PAST 96 YEARS!! Here's how I see it. Everyone who matters in every single bank loan out there has been paid. The bank made the money out of thin air and gets 2,3,5 times the amount everyone else got. That's robbery. If you feel bad taking from these people, go to arlington cemetary. They killed them all. And people still act as they we "owe" them something. WE OWE NOTHING!!
Debt is a feeling, it's not a reality. You only "owe" because you feel like its the right thing to do. You would want someone to pay you back after all. You would be such an asshole if you lent somebody a blade of grass and expected a lawnmower in exchange. They live in huge meadows and it's illegal to pick the grass. Get it?
