Allen Boyd Betrayed We the People

Allen Boyd sided with President Bush this week when he voted for bailing out Bush's Wall Street cronies. Our government officials are telling us that anyone who stands in the way of bailouts is ill-informed and that their inaction will drive us to economic ruin. I see things differently, and fortunately so does Mark Mulligan, who is running against Allen Boyd in this upcoming election.

I believe there is a conspiracy of greedy bankers and politicians whose self-interest is camouflaged as sophisticated policy. They want us to believe that they have the keys to our salvation. I have seen no evidence to confirm this, and I do not trust them.

I have read the words of a man who I do trust though, Thomas Jefferson, “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

I suggest We the People start electing representatives who care more about us than they do a select and very wealthy few. I am throwing party registration to the wayside this election year, and voting against the status quo. Please join me and send a message to Washington, that we matter more than these gangsters masquerading as banksters - Vote Mark Mulligan for Congress, 2nd district of Florida.

I have been responsible...
I've studied personal finances, I’m a fan of personal responsibility and Dave Ramsey. When I want to buy something I save up the cash I need before I buy it. I learned how to make my dollar go further, I spend less than I earn, I have no debt other than my home - and I am on track to pay it off early. I am self employed and have a medical savings account. I have an emergency fund if an emergency comes up - I have no reason to borrow money in the future, I have removed financial risk to the best of my ability.
This bailout bill just passed, with help from Allen Boyd's vote, regardless of the outcry from constituents, and Bush will sign it -
Why should I continue to be responsible? When irresponsibility is rewarded in such gross fashion, it further erodes my little fantasy I had of living in a free country - when money can be taken from me by force, to pay for others and their desire to get rich quick, without considering the risk involved, and then expecting all of us to pay for their folly.
Why should I continue to pay taxes, or my mortgage ?
It's like a knife to my spirit.
I feel powerless, but fortunately at least I can vote for someone who opposes Wall Street bailouts, Mark Mulligan for Congress.

I am not an economist, just a retiree and my wife trying to live out our savings. It looked pretty good for us until recently. Now with the financial collapse we may even have to go to work, probably as a Wal-Mart greeter because of no recent work experience, unless something is done to turn the crisis around.
Of course I do not know what the solution is, but I do know that the people in congress are the last one’s that need to get involved. Congress is exactly the cause of this crisis as Henry Paulson (Treasury Secretary) said in his testimony to The Senate last week. For years congress has been pressing the financial institutions to grant home loans to people for the purchase of homes that more than likely they would not be able to repay. So now these same congressmen have voted on a $700 billion bail out plan for these institutions to buy these defaulted loans with federal tax money (actually borrowed money). I hear Congressman Frank and Senator Dodd demanding that congress must have oversight of the bailout of these institutions. I wonder where the oversight was during the build up to this crisis and who thinks that it will be any better in the future. Maybe it was because Senator Dodd is the largest receiver of campaign contributions from Freddie and Fannie.
This election year we should replace all congressmen who supported this $700 billion bailout, this includes Congressman Allen Boyd of the 2nd district. Mark Mulligan is running against him , he is against this Wall Street bailout, and he has my vote.
