Obama's view on the war
I was just re-watching the presidential debate, and Obama on some pretty good points. I've said it before on here, and I'll say it again: the thing that attracted my first to Ron Paul was his foreign policy stance. He taught me about Blowback, and his staunch anti-war, anti-intervention stances were a true inspiration.
In the debate, Obama grilled McCain, and by proxy George W Bush, because they said that the war was necessary, they had evidence that Saddam Hussein was tied to al-Qaeda, they knew where the WMDs were, and the disinformation being spread was false. He said that sense that horrible decision to enter Iraq, we have lost 4000+ men, lost 1 trillion dollars, and our reputation in the region and the world has been sullied.
Thoughts?
PS = He also grilled the US support of dictator Musharraf, and the idea of 'a dictator, but he's our dictator.'

Obama & McCain are the same
Obama & McCain are the same on foreign policy except for the pre election stance...
weee
Really???
Obama spent 5 years saying he agreed with the vote to go into Iraq, that Bush's approach was the right thing, that he agreed that we need Iraq to be independent before we leave, etc...
Then - as if by a MIRACLE! - right before the primaries start Obama becomes "anti-war". Wow - didn't see that coming....
By the way, if you had been paying attention, it was actually the Republicans in the debates that tabbed him as "anti-war" before Obama had said anything about leaving Iraq (seeing the success of Dr. Paul). Good trick and propaganda technique - but I was too awake to buy it.
Yes, you're absolutely right.
Obama has many great points. I just don't know HOW I managed to miss turning on the TV to watch that great debate. Just the snippets I've seen shows me the vast information exchanged, discussed and many solutions were revealed.
Oh, the humanity! The rhetoric! The teleprompters! These elections aren't choreographed at all!
Which is why of course he is the new Messiah. Look, he's even got his own cute little army together!

How you can still set one up against the other...
is beyond me.
Having given up on the two parties and their candidates, I can't help feeling ill when reasonable people debate which of the two clowns will be better in office.
Here's your answer, Cameron... neither. They are two sides of the same counterfeit coin. neither will stop the war, neither will reduce the size and scope of government. Both will increase your load to balance their crooked books and both seek to destroy this country.
McCain is a fascist. Obama is a socialist (once he gets an army, he's a communist)
Now, take your pick.
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
You still buy-in to the show??
Don't think there is any difference or that one would matter anyway. The government has been hijacked, the candidates are employees of the hijackers.
Hasn't Obama voted in
Hasn't Obama voted in support of the war many times? That, in my opinion, is pro-war.
yep that's how it works..
just like my senator said he was against the bailout, and the people were against the bailout, but he voted for it anyway.
He was obviously, for the bailout no matter what he said or the papers printed...
Obama is very
Obama is very pro-war.

Obama: Expand the wars -- starting with Pakistan
"The first step must be getting off the wrong battlefield in Iraq, and taking the fight to the terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan."
Obama: Start war actions across the globe
"So the second step in my strategy will be to build our capacity and our partnerships to track down, capture or kill terrorists around the world."
Obama: I'm not kidding. I want global war.

Obama's Promise Of More War
American liberals can't quite face the fact that if their man does win in November, and if he has meant a single serious word he's ever said, it means more war, and more bitter and protracted war at that -- not less.

"The danger from Iran is grave, it is real, and my goal will be to eliminate this threat," Obama said in a speech to a conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a pro-Israel lobby group.
"I will do everything in my power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon -- everything," he said to a standing ovation.

So much for that "hope." Obama can't be as honest as McCain is about his pro-war position because it would cost him a lot of support. According to Obama's own Web site, he already has many wars planned for the future.
SURPRISINGLY, even Bush was less pro-war than Obama is now! Don't believe me? See for yourself:

Sure, Obama wants more of this and worse. How is that a good thing again?
Obama is a socialist.
Obama is a socialist.
Obama wants war just as much as mcsame
He has talked about war with pakistan, the nuclear option with Iran, and wants to continue the war on terror mirage.
"Hello, Pot?! Yeah, this is Kettle... Just wanted to let you know that you're black."

That is another issue. What
That is another issue. What about Iraq?
You need to look at the overall issue of foreign policy
rather than specific instances. Obama voted to support the war in Iraq anyway.
But even if Obama truly opposes or opposed Iraq, what is his overall position on the American empire?

Ron paul is the only one who has talked about the facts.
Obama is pure rhetoric and has never said one thing that maps to a clear, non political, understanding of why our policy is wrong. RP has clearly stated that they are upset with us because we are over there. This is completely true. RP says we should just come home. I agree.
Obama is a shill. He will be the worst kind of CFR / NWO tool.
Just look at how quickly he rolled over on the bailout. Where was the change lat Monday?
I do not want to see McCain and Palin in office but be prepared to take it from behind if Obama rises to power.
We will have more war, lies, bailouts, corruption, out of control spending and erosion of our civil liberties.
"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"
Gee, he is saying the obvious,
isn't he? How could he say anything to the contrary, without losing votes? He basically will say anything to get votes.
Saying those things didnt
Saying those things didnt get Ron Paul too many votes.
Ron Paul didn't get any air time.............
"Remember"
"Observe the masses, and do the opposite."
Is that the reason, or does
Is that the reason, or does he really believe that?
Please cite and support your answer.
This is a Ron Paul forum,
and I don't want to waste my time doing such a ridiculous thing. Obama is part of the same system of CFR, globalism as McCain, Bush, et al.
So, the free flow of ideas
So, the free flow of ideas in the form of debate isnt acceptable here? Whatever happened to freedom and liberty? If you shut up the people you dont agree with, then there is no debate. If your ideals and opinions were well founded in fact, then you wouldnt be afraid to defend them against any opponent.
I bet
that there is an obama forum out there with your name on it.
Sure, but don't expect everyone to want to engage you
Some of us are, quite frankly, tired of the talk about Obama, Barr, McCain, etc.
