We KNOW in our hearts we need to join militias and train to protect ourselves NOW.

Okay. It is time we stop bullshitting ourselves. If anyone here has half a brain, and has been paying attention to what is actually going on in our country right now, they know in their hearts that joining a militia to train to protect themselves is absolutely necessary immediately. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Not in a couple months. Fucking NOW. Marshal law is already being threatened. The Army is stationed here, to suppress U.S. citizens. Videos of police brutality and massive unjustified arrests (which lead to no convictions) are being taken by the police and destroyed.
I wanted to share with all of you my obvious feelings that joining a militia is necessary. Also, I wanted to share with you the thoughts and fears I have when I begin thinking about participating in a militia. I think this is a valuable exercise, a cathartic experience if you will.
1,) My fears of what the govt will do to me if I participate in a militia:
-I will be tortured.
-i will be killed.
-I will be deemed a "domestic terrorist."
-I will be called an unpatriotic traitor.
-I will be subjected to public humiliation.
-My reputation will be destroyed.
-My family and friends will disown me.
-I will be forced to give up my career.
-I will have to stop making money, and will be unable to spoil myself with nice material things.
-I will be risking my life when I could have much easier just shut up, remained safe, and tried to ride out the storm.
2.) The rational logical response to these fears is to evaluate what happens if I do not do anything:
-All of the things listed above will likely happen, only more severely and in greater magnitude.
-I will live like a slave or indentured servant blindly serving my totalitarian socialist dictator masters, i.e. working to earn money to pay for an $800 billion bail out which will go to fund evil multi-national corporations.
-I will be put in a FEMA concentration camp.
-I will have to explain to my children and children's children that I did nothing and I allowed a pre-WWII German-style coup to take place in the U.S. while I sat idly by and did nothing.
You tell me, which is worse? Doing nothing? Or getting some balls and rising up to protect yourself? Are we Americans in the spirit of our Founding Fathers, or are we a bunch of pussies? And don't try to bullshit or explain your way out of it. Face yourself in the mirror. Are you going to take that step and join a militia and train to protect yourself? Or are you going to just bend over? Also, you better believe they are reading every word on this site. The most pitiful thing of all is that we would feel scared to write what we feel in our own hearts.

No militias in my neck of
No militias in my neck of the woods and even if there were I wouldn't join. The problem is the militia probably has so many moles in it they wouldn't be able to function. The only thing you can do is make your neighbors aware of what is coming down. These people might laugh but they will remember what You said when You said it. I have been telling people about the collapse for the longest time and they all laughed. I assure you now they are not laughing and are listening to what I say but they still haven't got to the point of acting. The american people will stand up one day but today is not the day I assure you. Now when this Obama revolution is over and the smoke clears and everything is the same people might wake up. Oh how nice will it be if Obama institutes martial law then the sheeple will see change all right. You need not be so hard on people here because everyone is not like you and all of our situations are different. I know I can not even attend ron paul meet up groups due to my job because I am in the gulf of mexico about 9 months a year. How am I supposed to train with a unit of militia? I barely have enough time for my family much less hanging out with a bunch of middle aged men shooting up targets and drinking beer. Now the idea of shooting guns and bitching about the government sounds fun I just don't have the time to do such things and it wouldn't be fair to my family considering I am gone all the time. Now when their plan moves into phase 2 and I loose my job now then its time to get with the boys and shoot up targets and drink some good old moon shine but until then I have work to do.

If the people of a state got together and told the governor to do whats best for the people than one most consider removing the state from the union.

I know some of you are going to shoot my idea down like you always do, but go ahead, but remember this, when has a single riot succeeded in achieving what they want?
When has a storm on the capital ever taken place and succeeded?
No chance! At least the choice I say has better odds of working than total anarchy and millions of people versus conventional weapons.
And also remember this, there are a lot of people who will not cross the wire, there are people who say they will do this and that but in actuality they are scared and won't fight.
We don't have leaders on our side. When I say that I mean someone who will take charge to take action towards freedom. Ron Paul is spreading the word, more people need to realize he is doing what he can, and he is just one man with a huge cause.
Organize. We need to organize into something more.......more like evolving into a bigger and better "group".
Buy guns, buy ammo, know your weapon, and know what you can do.
Prepare.

I agree with others about this issue, militias are a waste of time and energy.
If a person were to join an established militia that person would have to join an established hierarchy which more than likely would lead to painful incompetence. Why bother?
Work amongst your neighborhood, friends, family. These are the people you can trust and trust is extremely important inside a unit....
The revolution will be started by individuals not militias.
