Weird experience in Taiwan
So I'm in taiwan right now -- no I didn't run away, I am not a US citizen -- anyway, I bought a broken up piece of ingot because I couldn't find coins.
Today I was going to buy at 820 but my bank F***ED UP MY MONEY and I didn't get it so I'm losing big before I can buy tomorrow.

Well I just purchased 2 Gold
Well I just purchased 2 Gold eagle and 28 silver eagles. $2400. I'm moving money out of my money market like $8000 to invest more. Any suggestions about balance? How much in gold and silver should I purchase? Also I'm going to purchase a deep freezer, food dehydrator, and food vacuum sealer during the next 24 hrs. Getting everything from Craigslist. I hate to buy at retail prices. Clothes too.
what is the best food dehydrator to look for?

I'm asking around and looked at comments on Amazon.com. You can used ones for good prices. I went there specifically to read the comments about the different products. I personally don't know anyone who owns one. But they are for sale on craigslist and ebay. I want to make the best choice with my money. I only do business locally when purchasing products from folks.
Seems like 120-150 is a retail price for a decent model. Craigslist orlando has some for under $75 brand new. Folks are selling things because they need money. Nasco was a brand I saw. I'll post again when I get some more info.

Agreeing with everyone, being self-sufficient as you can is key. Food for a number of years, energy independence, everything else then remainder in gold/silver. I think dollar bills will burn well in the future.....

electric or not be able to afford it when hyperinflation hits. Got food, water, sleeping bags, etc.

Good point about electricity. How did they store food during the depression? I live in Orlando FL where it's HOT and the winter days seldom go below freezing point 32 degrees F. I have 2 small kids so I need to be as prepared as possible. I have rice and dry beans and other dry goods which I had to hide from my husband. I have a husband that thought I was crazy and said he doesn't want to see any of this stuff in the house. Now he is worried and now wants to plant the garden and stock up on food etc..etc...etc... At least now he is allowing us the chance to be as prepared as possible. But my crrent supply is limited. Need to get more

I have no idea if gold will be confiscatable again...
I never saw where silver was confiscatable... This is what market demands... As far as everything being higher? As soon as manipulation of the precious metals alleviates, then the sky is the limit. Return of money is now more important than return of, as someone on daily paul mentions often....
Gold was in circulation
as money when it was confiscated. Read the coin act of 1985 to see that these coins are numismatic.
“(3) For purposes of section 5132(a)(1) of this title, all coins minted under this subsection shall be considered to be numismatic items”.
They can't be claimed to be money subject to confiscation. They are private property that the value must be determined by a court on an individual basis per coin. You property can't be taken without due process of law. Any law that states so is a violation of the constitution and therefore null and void.
