Where is ole good news, JzNeff, when
ya need him to tell us "all is well"? By golly he is going to get his $70 oil albeit via the crash of the economy. I, for one, am glad this nasty zit of a corrupt financial system is coming to a head, and ready to burst. Bring it on.

Looks like it might skip $70 all together and go straight to ...
$50.
I am still praying.
It will help to blunt the blow.
WAHOR!!

So what about those kids who just lost their
student loans. Everything AOKAY with them?
Sorry
Rex...I think if you don't truly believe me, that I can make you for a moment at least doubt that we are in the end times...
Sorry I had to bring my cheery disposition back for a while, i'll return to my exile. Damn site is addicitive sometimes (but I kicked cigarettes this year, surely I can kick this).

Thing I've always taught people about "Biblical" prophecy...
Is that the "end times" have been FALSELY predicted and "claimed" to be here hundreds and thousands of times...
The Bible (Jesus' "red letter" text) says that NO ONE knows the day or the hour -- not even him (nor the Holy Spirit), but "only God the Father" knows and He's not telling anyone. (cf Matthew 24:36-44 in context) -- therefore ANYONE who tells you it is here now, or will be on day X, Y, or Z -- is, according to the Bible... a LIAR.
BUT... it does NOT have to be the end times for your life, your country, your "economy" to end up in the sh*tter. Heck, think about the people living in Iraq (a significant number of whom were Christian) -- their life REALLY SUCKS right now.
The Black Plague killed anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 of the people in Eurpean countries. I guarantee you if YOU lived (and survived) through THAT, you would have said it REALLY SUCKED...
So, rather than getting all hyper-panicky about something fed to you by a BS'ing, LYING, false-prophet TV preacher dude (or worse, some "Left Behind" lying FICTION author) -- if you are concerned about your "spiritual destiny" then GET RIGHT WITH GOD -- and then be about your daily work in a humble, serious, and solid fashion. But whatever you do, quit running around like chicken little.
As long as McDonald's has a dollar menu
We won't have martial law. Once they drop the dollar menu-look out people are gonna go crazy!
They could make it a five-dolla menu... five dolla... five dolla
Just like the old "five and dime" stores eventually became "dollar" stores (though around here, they are now $1.05 and $1.10 stores).
I suppose if they reprice everything to $5 or $10, they could be "five and ten" stores again.
Why'd you have to bring that up
I might just have to pick up a McChicken for the drive home today now....
It's my way of staving off hunger pains
Must ... Not....Buy....Double....Cheeseburger
Seriously it is so evil and so delicious-I could live and die with that menu.
Double Cheeseburger, McChicken, Parfait (not gay, very good yogurt), Ice Cream, TWO pies, Small fries, small soft drink, side salad (when I want to pretend to be healthy). I could buy all this stuff for the same price of a sub, chips and soda from subway.
coincidence!
My dog and I just picked up a couple of spicy chickens (dollar menu) to eat on our way back home from voting in the big city.
I voted for Chuck Baldwin, even though I'd have a 20% chance of identifying him in a lineup of 5 randomly presented men. Anyway, it was good to vote for the fellow Ron Paul finally endorsed.
I like to get my spicy chickens with extra pickles. And my dog always gets the last bite once I've gotten all the pickles out. Ah, a beautiful October day with blue skies and little cotton ball clouds.
MMM...spicy?
I don't think I've seen spicy chickens...only the regular ones. Maybe different in Wyoming.
dollar menu = dark side
Take a look at the dollar menu next to the double cheeseburgers. They're pretty good. They put mayonaisse on them out here in the west, which took some getting used to when I moved out here from the east coast.
As soon as I heard about oil selling for less than $90 a barrel, I thought, "Hey...didn't that one guy on the Daily Paul predict this?" It will be fun to see it drop all the way to $70, although I recall that your post also saw that as a harbinger of other less fortuitous things.
My financial advice:
If you're trying to get the biggest bang for your buck, always ask for extra stuff on your dollar menu items. If you can, stay away from big business beef because those bastards really treat the animals and the earth in the worst way, and that can't be good karma for us all in the long run.
LOL
He's never far away...simply smiling and giggling about the degree of rank panic gripping the country.
If you're waiting for the dollar and America to crash around you, you'll probably find yourself waiting for a very long time.
once again only you with
once again only you with your short vision could take a bite out of a turd sandwich and tell everyone its roast beef! if everything was just great like you say it is then why the panic?

LOL
My therapist says I shouldn't even talk to you...
There's a world of difference between "everything is great" and "the world isn't ending".
Why the panic? Because people are not accustomed to seeing the deflationary recession in America. The banks have hijacked the Libor and the fed is unable to print it down right now. Oh...and people are being told to panic by our leaders, so we won't mind an extra layer of regulatory reform.
Calm down, breathe, repeat.
once again jzneff plays the
once again jzneff plays the roll kevin bacon played in animal house! you know the guy standing in the street shouting.. all is well be calm while the riot ensues behind him... but slowly and surely he goes into a temper tantrum.... LOL ALL IS WELL BE CALM! keep chearleading jz! the problem with you is everything that Sinclair / Schiff or Ron Paul has warned us about is now unfolding! we will see where you are at here before Christmas! everything you have prediced as far as the economy is is totally wrong.. the only thing you might squeek by on is 70.00 oil, but I'm still not sure on that 1 and if it does hiot 70.00 it is NOT because of the reasons you said.. it is because thye whole world will be in a depression that makes the depression of the 30's look like childs play!
To encapsulate the outlook for the balance of this year and into next, I would expect things to unwind something like this over the short term:
· Over the coming weeks the banking system goes through what might be described as the financial equivalent of a heart attack, right up to the cessation of a heart-beat and then a lot of 'government' defibrillators being turned on all at once in order to flood the system with cash to get money moving again. Unfortunately, in Cliff's work (and in greater details for his subscribers) the efforts seem headed for failure.
· Along with this financial heart attack, we would then expect to see stresses placed on the 'social contract' that have never been experienced by anyone before - at least anyone who is alive. When banks start to reject checks, and when governments are unable to get financial affairs in order such that people's lives will be unalterably changed and downscaled, there will likely arise huge resentment.
· The result of this resentment is likely to be action - direct and in-direct against almost all types of authority.
I outlined how this breakdown is very much like a snowball starting down a mountainside. At the moment, the snowball is rolling, and people who know where to look 'up the mountain' can already see it moving. But, even those who live a normal everyday life and don't focus as we do around here on the esoteric parts of economics are likely to get a close-up and personal view of the snowball sometime in the Monday-Thursday timeframe as the snowball hits a first huge rock and bou8nces up into the sky.
After a moment or so of 'flight' the snowball will resume its gravity-driven path down and along the way between now and the middle of November, is expected to start destroying whole towns and populations in its path. That's how big just one of the snowballs is, namely the $55-$60-trillion Credit Default Swaps market which is virtually a Wild West without law, order, or oversight.
The practical aspect of this for most people will be simple: Their credit cards will not work. The house payment they have sent in won't be credited and they may get a late charge because their bank is not clearing.
The whole sequent of 'social trust' or connected belief sets collapses in a heap.
The current funding crisis in the State of California is a sort of macrocosm of what's going on.
· Real estate prices have collapsed in some parts of California by as much as 40%.
· That in turn has reduced property tax revenue by some 40%
· Concurrently, because of layoffs, the unemployment insurance demands are skyrocketing.
· The State, facing bankruptcy up close and personal advises state workers that they may have to 'bear with them' for a while.
· The State goers clamoring to the Feds.
· Unfortunately, the cupboard is about bare there too, since as of this week, we have taken about $1-trillion and turned it over to the banksters at the root of the problem and hence won't be able to bail out States to the degree that may become necessary.
· And as this occurs, the bonds of States and municipalities - the real front lines of local government, will be discounted more because of what the bond markets will perceive as an increase risk of failure.
And so it goes as this snowball keeps building.

Shut up idiot, silver is down 40% in 5 months, what do you know?
You are no doubt the biggest alarmist on this board, and worse yet WRONG about most everything. Why not take a vacation or something and give the rest of us break.
Hmm...
The CDS market is like the wild west, without law, order, or oversight...
You mean, it's a laissez faire market, not safely protected by massive oversight and controls?
Ever wonder what's going on here? It's a cycle of panic, relief, and reform, boom, crash, repeat.
1907, 1929, 1979, 1987, 2000, 2008...each time, it seemed like the world would end, and in turn we panicked and gave up ever more control, because surely regulations would keep us safe.
The result? The underlying notion that "we need them".
If you're going to play a pawn, at least understand who's pushing you into the abyss...over and over and over again.
I see why you need a
I see why you need a Therapist. Most people who live in fantasy land require another idiots support to help them live.. HAHAHHAHAAAAA Coodoes on your $70pb, but your world is about ready to crash with your price of oil.. I'll even bet we will see $30-$40 pb prices..

GOLD
I was kidding about the therapist
I barely trust my dog with my inner thoughts (and I don't even own a dog)
The world is not about to crash. A handful of very savvy investors are about to get a lot richer buying up the equities everyone's selling.
It's a self limiting kinda thing. $70 oil (or lower) will kickstart our economy back up.
I saw $3.09 per gallon on I-75 in Ohio yesterday.
how long is very long?
how long is very long?
Depends
If we continue to react with panic and demand that US fix the problem, a few years at least.
More likely, a decade or two unless we remove our cranium from our posterior.
lol react with panic?? so
lol react with panic?? so basically you are saying everything is fine its only a couple tinhat guys who are instilling panic and theats whats going on.. its not the fundamentals or anything else??! lmao! or that Jim Sinclair was right about the derivatives market that is unwinding! ofcourse not.. jzneff is much smarter then Sinclair!

Nope
No...6 months ago it was the tinhat freaks calling for panic. Right now, it's the media and our "leaders". Hence, mass panic (you know, follow the leader?)
Meanwhile, Warren Buffett is proudly buying up piece by piece of Americana, just like 1987.
Jim Sinclair? You mean the same guy who said oil would never get below $120?
jzneff is a clown
look at the current situation. He was wrong about EVERYTHING. Just laugh at him and move along.
Huh?
He was wrong about everything?
I told you oil was going to drop out very fast, remember when it was $140 per barrel? It just hit $87.81.
I told you the dollar was about to increase in value due to deflation. Remember when it was $1.60 per Euro? It just hit $1.34.
Now I was wrong about everything after being laughed at for telling you almost precisely what was about to occur?
It's a matter of public record that I told you in May what was about to occur.
bullshit...... the dollar is
bullshit...... the dollar is about to resume its down trend.. you hit a little blimp nothing more.. not hard to do.. nothing goes straight up or down.
you will see here shortly!

I've never argued with you
In fact, I think i've said the same thing several times.
Deflation is temporary, eventually (probably early in 2009) the presses will catch up to the writedowns and we'll have our precious inflation back.
Yes, long term inflation is the rule, but I've been telling you (you in particular) that we are in a short term deflationary cycle because of the liquidity crisis.
I never claimed that our dollar would keep going up forever, just that inflation was taking a back seat for a short amount of time.
tell that to the students who just lost their loans, etc
etc, etc
How have ya been?
Saw you lurking and could not resist poking at you :)
Just peeking
Just wanted to make sure you all are not dissapointing me, and tuned in to read some bible quotes and celebration of the cliff dive.
If it's any consolation, i'm not even remotely worried. I'm actually thinking of buying some Caterpillar stock and cashing in these pathetic CD's i'm in.
This is the country coming to grips with what's known as a deflationary recession.
Admit it...you just wanted someone to tell you that things will be ok, didn't you?
lol @ everything is going to
lol @ everything is going to be ok! seems to me Schiff, Sinclair and the great mogambu guru called it correctly.. jzneff did not!
