Ron Paul Fundraiser for SIX Maryland Congressional Candidates - Today! UPDATE
Ron Paul will headline a rally and fundraiser for six Maryland Congressional candidates this Thursday evening, October 9, at the University of Maryland. For anyone in the proximity who would like to attend, the venue holds 1700 people, the cost is $25 ($5 for students with ID) and a VIP room is set up to meet and speak with Dr. Paul for $150. You can pay at the door.
This is a great chance to meet Dr. Paul, and at the same time, help 6 new Ron Paul Republicans get elected. If you can't attend, but would like to contribute anyway, the candidate's websites are as follows...
Rich Matthews ... http://www.richardmatthew...
Collins Bailey ... http://www.baileyforuscon...
Mike Hargadon ... http://www.hargadonforusc...
Peter James ... http://www.peterjames08.c...
Steve Hudson ... http://www.stevehudson200...
Information about the rally can be found here ... http://www.google.com/cal...
UPDATE .......................................................
Roscoe Bartlett, who was endorsed by RP, and who I originally listed here, will be unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict.
UPDATE #2 ......................................................
This event is being dedicated to Patrick Citroni, the late campaign manager for Rich Matthews. Patrick was tragically taken from us 2 weeks ago after being struck down in a motorcycle accident while on his way to a campaign event. His infectious personality and tireless energy will be sorely missed by all of us that knew him.
I am certain that Patrick will be looking down on us tonight, no doubt while hob nobbing with Thomas J, Patrick Henry, James Madison, et al. Here's to you, Patrick ... http://www.flickr.com/pho...

Thank you Bird and Pure for attending
You won't be disappointed in the candidates - I can assure you of that. Please consider attending the VIP event to have some time to discuss whatever with the good doctor.

Whats the count
for Ron Paul conservatives running for the US house and senate?
Maryland Fundraiser
I will be at the event tomorrow. It is a great opputunity to not only hear Dr. Paul, but also to hear the candidates speak. None of these people will be running in my district, but I will spread the word and pass out info to other people that I know.

Maryland Event
There are at least 3 of us from PA, who have been working tirelessly since the gavel dropped on that fascist piece of legislation, who will be attending this IMPORTANT event. We have been communicating with numerous challengers and third party candidates in the Congressional Districts in PA. WE, understand the serious nature of the challenge that lies before us. We know that criminals have derailed the legislative process, and we are doing everything in our power to right these wrongs and elect third party candidates to reclaim the house. To that end, won't you support Dan Frank of the 16th District of PA. He is the real deal, and needs our help. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

It is hard to get an event
It is hard to get an event together on short notice. In the middle of the happenings right now. Trust me I witnessed this on the Freedom Tour.
Still give yourself a break, if you were associated with who I think you were, some of the burden of this was being taken care of by a late Ron Paul supporter.
Did you contact the Maryland Washington DC/New York Meet ups?
The event is coming together
The event is coming together quite nicely. Somebody remarked that maybe, just maybe, our late friend is still working on this event. ;)
I wish Marc Scibilia could
I wish Marc Scibilia could be there. He would have done it for free...just needed transport he is in New York. Our late friend Mr. PC really wanted him to be there.
Frustrated.
I have to admit that I'm frustrated on this site lately. I post an invitation to a Ron Paul fundraiser, giving everyone here the opportunity to come meet and talk with Ron Paul while simultaneously helping to elect 6 separate Ron Paul Republicans. As of yet, not one poster has said anything to the effect of "Hey, I live near there, what a great opportunity. I think I'll show up and bring 3 friends that I've been trying to convert."
Instead, out of 27 comments, we got a cartoon, some praises of Ron Paul, some criticisms of Ron Paul, an invitation to donate to another candidate from another state, a solicitation to contribute to some other cause, and a hand slap for not using the right "donate" sponsor.
I don't mean to be critical - I realize that all of you are trying to be helpful - but the purpose of this link was to get Ron Paul supporters to come to this event. If you want to advertise another event, I suggest starting another thread.
All that being said, is there anyone out in Daily Paulland that thinks they can make this event? If so, please post in the affirmative. Thank you, and have a liberty filled, bailout free day.
I take my marching orders from the Constitution!
Actually, these people were all HELPING YOU
Don't take the comments as bad. They are helping to keep your thread BUMPED to the top of the active forum topics.
Next time you see a seemingly unrelated message, don't be mad, take heart....someone loves your post enough to keep it active.
I don't live within 5,000 miles of this fundraiser, so I could not post anything like what you want. But I can post this response, both to cheer you, and to BUMP YOUR POST UP some more!
God speed, Maryland patriots!

Thanks, Alaskaron
Like I said, I wasn't angry, just a little disappointed. Note, however, that even those that can't attend can help by donating to the candidates, or by helping to promote the event to other RP fans that they may know who live near the event.
This is our (I volunteer all my free time to working with Collins Bailey) biggest event of the entire campaign. We got several great ads to air, and this event could double our ad budget. What an amazing statement we could make nationwide if a Ron Paul Republican were to unseat the Democratic Majority Leader, Steny Hoyer! The success of this event is paramount to accomplishing this.
Thank you again for helping and for keeping me thinking positive.

As by Google supporting the movement?
Folks I'm seeing these "ads by google" all over the internet... and on sites in our movement as well.
It's obvious from all of the "donate" links and the ads by google we are starving for income.
"pyrawords" is similar (in look only) to "ads by google" and will do two things:
#1) Make you a hell of a lot more money.
#2) Support everyone else in the movement who advertises their cause on the network.
Point being: Anyone who uses adds by google and belongs to THIS movement ONLY uses them because they DON'T REALIZE what PyraWords can offer!
Imagine... your website, blog, radio show etc on websites everywhere people now use "ads by google" ...
Google also makes a KILLING on you... they pull in 80% of the ad revenue and leave you fighting over the crumbs. PyraBang PAYS OUT up to 90%!
So... hello? what are you waiting for?
http://pyrabang.com/go/li...
What you failed to mention,
What you failed to mention, Pyabang, is that many volunteers are putting in countless hours of their own time while the economy is cratering, and putting forth their own money to make events like this a success, while you come in with one post or two and attempt to profit from their work. As far as I can tell, nobody here is interested in that.
Please come to the event on Oct 9 and we can discuss. Thanks.
Invest in we the people?
We could really use some funding for independent media. Folks... funding independent media (next to getting constitutional individuals elected) is the BEST thing we can do for our movement. Please join us the "donation" is only $5.95 however you can earn that back with only one person joining... this is creating a viral funding of independent media and also set you up to be one of "we the people" who is bringing people the news.
Our first month payout to the membership was $180
Second month was $610
Third month will be ? <=== this is up to you!
Please help us bring in the money for people who want to do more donating!
Our network is now over 150 websites strong (who host our "PyraWords") where you can advertise your information to for less than 1 cent and usually make a "bang" profit... hence you come out ahead and it costs you "less than free"
We are getting a few hundred thousand impressions of our members content.. DAILY ... to date we have presented YOUR information to the outside world over 7 million times! You could be one of those members broadcasting your views on this network... please join, support and help further our cause which is YOUR cause... taking BACK the media!

Clarification
Please note that Pyrabang is in no way affiliated with the Oct 9 event. Thanks.
Speaking of fundraising....
The markets suck right now, we pretty much all agree on that. So. the restoration of confidence is the buzz afoot this day. For beginning anew in this country, once great, and being driving by those who can't drive, we must look to an alternative way of doing what basically happens in the stock markets.
Being focused for this time on only stocks of true business's doing work directly related to production of something, or that of a service. Any SERVICE of, on, or with money will NOT be one of my considerations.
Point being... Ron Paul got 6 million from people with little or nothing to spare. I being one of them. He/They have all the info needed to make a return on my investment, if one were expected. But I was expecting something else. Just not money in return.
So, why not just start a business in a similar sort of fashion. With the internet, starting locally, like your desk at home, takes on a new meaning.
The message was great, and people listened, what if you have a great idea for a business/invention/improved composition for a longer lasting road... whatever it may be.
Question is:
Could we invest, as WE THE PEOPLE again...?
With no middle men?
Ron Paul is a brilliant tactician
Every week he seems to come up with a new tactic for changing politics. Hosting fundraisers across the country to create a huge pool of capital for candidates is going to be particularly effective. There's not much time left before November, but he could hit all 50 states and have a huge war-chest for the 2010 elections! Imagine if he could get over a dozen Revolution congressmen in office.
Which thread listed all the
Which thread listed all the issues that the candidates share in common?
Very cool! Every New Congressman Helps Tip The Scales!
Ron Paul's Convention Speech
the powers that be must hate
the powers that be must hate Ron, and the people who know his principles love him....I hope this is a big hit.
Students only $5
FYI, students from University of Maryland and surrounding schools can attend the 7:30 Rally for a donation of $5 or more, with valid ID, according to the event hotline (240) 744-7446.
You are right.
That was an oversight on my part. I've edited the original post to include price for students. Thanks.

Jason M. Scheurer (NJ) is
Jason M. Scheurer (NJ) is running against incumbent Frank Lautenberg for Senate in NJ, I see Scheurer with Ron Paul in a picture on his site. http://jasonforsenate2008... Is Ron Paul down with him?
Ron was actively supporting
Ron was actively supporting Murray Sabrin in the republican Primary. I guess it is a given that RP supports most 3rd party candidates over the status quo, especially Libertarians and Constitutionalists.
Just my personally opinion,
Just my personal opinion, I have to say I am not really liking all this advertising and usage of Ron Paul's name, whether by association or by him. It's a slippery slope towards politics. He's thinking and many are thinking, well he's a figure now...let's use that to our ADVANTAGE. That is essentially the definition of politics. It's not good, at least from what I am seeing.
It's very effective
This is the best possible thing he could do right now. We need to have more Ron Pauls in congress to change the direction of Washington, and he's doing exactly what he needs to do to make it happen. If he can build a war chest to elect the current slate of Revolution congressmen into office it will lead to even greater changes in the 2010 elections.
Ron know's
that he is going to pick some winners and some losers.
all he is really trying to do is get the message across. and get people talking. about real things and about real matters. and like it or not, the word for that is......politics.
Go Ron!

Yes, I know and I don't like
Yes, I know and I don't like it and I believe it is a problem. I am surprised he is doing all this. However, it is new ground for him (having a public image), so I don't think he is aware of the duality. One of the things I absolute love about him is his ability not to be seduced by power. This is one area where that possibility exists if he doesn't handle himself in the right way. Not that he will be corrupt and greedy. Of course not. But rather that it creates the possibility of him becoming lost and losing sight of what's important. It's very dangerous and I don't believe anyone is up for the task. The responsible thing to do is to not do it.
I
It doesn't matter wehther you like what Dr. Ron is doing or not. The thing that matters is that he know's what he's doing. Give the guy some credit.
Now more than ever, we need more people of his thinking than ever before.
Our country depends on it !
GOD BLESS US ALL
Uh, duh! Obviously, "it"
Uh, duh! Obviously, "it" doesn't matter whether I like what someone I don't know is doing. That was said to explain myself. Regardless, what you say is the exact problem. You are expressing desperation and acting off that hardly ever produces healthy and smart decisions. I obviously give him all the credit in the world, but that's not the point. In other words, each candidate should develop on their own, kinda like how Paul did himself.
FYI
I personally know four of the 6 candidates, and I can assure you that all four of them are true blue Ron Paul Republicans. That is not to say that the other 2 aren't. I just don't know them, so I cannot say one way or the other. But certainly all 6 are far better than the vast majority of clowns we have in Congress today. I hope this allays some of your concerns here.
I take my marching orders from the Constitution!
Yeah, that has nothing to do
Yeah, that has nothing to do with my concerns. My concerns have to do with the act of playing politics, no matter how grounded you are. I don't care who you are.
what do YOU suggest?
there are many great ideas, products, services and people, etc that are available-if you have NEVER seen or or heard of them, they as good as DO NOT EXIST.
its the dammed if you do-dammed if you dont of PR & ADVERTIZING.
there are 300+ million people in the us-millions in your home state: how do YOU propose getting the message out to every one of them?
your 'concerns' need alternative methods of action: how do YOU propose getting the word out?
what do YOU suggest??
If men were angels we would not need a government
You live in a utopia were men are innately virtuous, whereby the rule of law is unnecessary. Politics is a human endeavor, where people come together to fulfill objectives in society. Politics is based on a set of ideas, thus a set of principles, or laws, or theory, etc.
My guess is that there was a lot of undue pressure on our legislature to get the Bailout Bill passed. Calling martial law, for instance, could persuade a legislator to vote one way or the other. Certainly, in times like these we can't blame Dr. Paul in seeking political allies. Remember, Ron Paul left the House in
For a politician, Ron Paul's service to this county is impeachable, because he's stood on principle throughout his "political" career. Here's a farewell speech of Ron Paul leaving the House after serving for eight years in it -1984. When a person is done reading that speech you can see that this man knows a lot about what is really happening. A lot of us are far removed from that reality, so it's hard to recognize the gravity of the situation.
http://www.lewrockwell.co...
"Dr. Paul was the first person in modern history to author term limits legislation, then lived under them by stepping down from his seat in 1984 and returning to his medical practice."
http://www.free-nefl.com/...
We need to build political strength and political will.
I guess I am clueless, then, to what your concerns are.
Should he not endorse other similar thinking candidates? How is this "playing politics" and why is it bad? To me, playing politics is the act of saying or doing something that is contrary to your true philosophy in order to gain acceptance from the large, gullible, non-thinking masses. I fail to see how Ron is doing this whatsoever in this case. Please explain you're concern.
