My idea of a good NWO
Ok, the people have spoken. Centralization is not good.
But the world is already centralized to a great extent. So my idea for a NWO is to massively decentralize power centers.
This can't be done by having a republic, and free markets. It will still lead to conglomeration of power centers as companies seize markets with their monopoly and use their money to influence government.
Instead, what I think should happen is outlined in the video on this page.
It is total fragmentation of power centers which become issue-bound rather than persistent entities. The internet will be key to this.
And now an interesting topic for discussion.
Would you support coercion to study politics and be active in the political debate (forced meetings, watching documentaries by both sides of issues, etc) in order to ensure freedom in all other areas?
Note that this is not a slippery slope nor does it give the 'enforcers' the power to take over the system. The reason is that the result of this one layer of collectivism would create a huge number of politically active people who would be connected and able/trained to organize action - and so any power grab by the enforcers would be impossible.
Just wondering if you would support this. Because it seems to me that unless people get educated in politics and issues, the rise of centralized power is inevitable. And when things are good people won't volunteer to do boring "politics" so as a consequence there is no stable endgame for freedom.
Given enough time, it will lose, as it has many times, but the difference is that now one technological superpower can collectivize and control the whole world - this would be a final state with no further change possible. So the next "defeat" of freedom will be permanent.

Regionalize it
State Level was killed by Lincoln.... how about a new "regional" movement?
Ron Paul for Peace!
Good God NOOOOOOO!
You already have "enforced" education -- supposedly including "civics" classes that purportedly teach how our system of government has run.
Depending on your point of view THAT has either been a total disaster, or an amazing success -- either way the result: a nation of sheeple is not conducive to a sustainable free Republic.
Our best hope lies in the OPPOSITE -- the current (and growing) number of homeschoolers; who are thus creating a core for a new generation that is capable of thinking for themselves, questioning authority, and teaching themselves what they need to know on a diverse number of subjects (and along the way, educating and persuading their peers).
You cannot "indoctrinate" people into freedom and responsibility; on that path lies disaster.
And nothing (other than death) is either permanent nor even truly inevitable.
I'm not sure I fully grasp the idea yet, but...
I'm definitely more comfortable with this idea, than the ideas put forward by Zeitgeist addendum. Worth the watch. Bump. There are many free countries that force Military service, why not force political involvement instead, as long as it doesn't force your choice in the matter or where you stand on issues. Maybe that can be a form of congress. At the age of 18 and after a certain level of education you must serve in a role of speaking for a certain number of constituents for a mandatory 2 years. I don't know, I'll give this one time to ponder.I didn't watch the whole video. My mind can't take much more of this right now. This could be a very interesting discussion though.
