GOP suing elected Ron Paul committee members for getting elected! Please help!
I received an emergency email today from a Ron Paul Meetup Coordinator near San Francisco (see below) that I felt I should pass along here just in case you can help and/or this could be a warning to you as well! I have left their contact information intact below. ~MCBAIKO

From Jun Dam (a very active SF Meetup member):
Alameda County, California - The Republican establishment is
suing seven Ron Paul supporters, including the author of this
article, who were newly elected to the Alameda County
Republican Central Committee, using the Committee Chairman,
Paul Cummings, as their surrogate. If the establishment is
successful in this lawsuit, you can expect this tactic, or
similar ones, to be repeatedly utilized to crush Ron Paul
supporters. We could have agreed not to contest the lawsuit
and quietly faded away; instead we remained committed to the
Revolution and elected to fight. However, we can not have a
successful Revolution if patriots such as ourselves are forced
to stand alone on the battlefield. We need your support and,
most importantly, financial assistance to win this lawsuit, and
help take back the Republican Party from within. (See below how
to help out.)
Prior to the June 3rd election, many of us were questioning
what role we would play in continuing the Revolution and
advancing the cause of liberty in our local area. For many of
us, we knew all along that the Revolution was about the
"message" and not the "man," so a number of us decided to take
Ron Paul's advice and took steps to get involved with the local
political process by running for the Alameda County Republican
Party Central Committee. (Alameda County is across San
Francisco Bay from San Francisco) We felt that we could put
what we had learned during the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign
to good use in promoting our own campaigns for Central
Committee. Along with other like minded supporters, we formed a
group which we named the Constitutional Republicans in honor of
Ron Paul. We used our organizational skills to get a
professional looking website up and running, personalized
fliers printed and a Meetup Group started. We did canvassing
drives, literature drops, sign bombs, flier bombs, email blasts
and a whole host of other things to get our slate of
Constitutional Republicans recognized and elected.
After the June 3rd election, it was obvious that our hard work
had paid off. We ran a total of 18 candidates, and 12 were
successful in winning seats on the 30 member Central Committee.
Our entire group received 67,829 individual votes from the
Republican voters of Alameda County. We were all very grateful
to the voters, for supporting us and giving us the chance to do
our part in returning the Republican Party to its roots.
After the results of the election had been certified by the
Board of Supervisors, the Chairman decided to file a lawsuit
contesting the election of seven of the newly elected members.
We believe that this was a desperate attempt to deplete our
numbers and scare our people from serving on the Central
Committee. Needless to say, the Chairman's plan did not work,
as this lawsuit has effectively turned our group from a herd of
alley cats into a pride of lions! We are now more organized,
dedicated and committed than ever before.
This is not to say that our battle is over... It's far from it!
We still need all the help that we can get. Up to this point we
have been coordinating our legal defense among ourselves and
doing the best we can. We have a strong case but we need to
retain legal counsel to assist us and argue our case in court.
It is also very important to stop the Republican establishment
from using this tactic against other Ron Paul supporters, or as
I like to say, "Constitutional Republicans." If we fail, you
can all be assured that this tactic will be used every time we
gain ground in restoring our Constitutional Republic!
I will post the links below to our website, our Legal Defense
Fund Chip-In account, our YouTube channel with videos,
newspaper articles and the Chairman's email.
Please make a donation to our Legal Defense Fund Chip-In
account! No donation is too small, every dollar counts and is
much appreciated. Our trial is set for October 17th, so time is
short. This Revolution will continue...

What grounds??????
You write such a long post, then link to a website, and we have to dig around for the needle in a haystack that is the REASON you're being sued?
Why? Do you seriously expect us to care about this issue and give you money if you can't tell us what you're accused of?

The day is coming when we will see a resurgence of the time honored "tar and feathering"...they know it and they are truly frightened. This and the whole "continuity of government" plan is what is behind the present move to ignore posse comitatus by training and placing troops in charge of crowd control.
Hopefully the "crowds" get their hands on these bastards before the PTB knows what hit them.

WTF?
Haven't the courts already been asked to settle a dispute between the GOP and Ron Paul supporters (NV)? The judge in that case wouldn't get involved because of the GOP being a private party.
Doesn't that ruling have any presidence in your case?
Elected by the people
Your post says in part, "After the results of the election had been certified by the Board of Supervisors, the Chairman decided to file a lawsuit
contesting the election of seven of the newly elected members." Based upon what? What grounds was this contested? What evidence?
If the seven newly ELECTED members followed election rules, what's the issue, at law? What is the legal claim in the petition?

Yes, I would like to see a copy of the lawsuit.
But anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason.
Even a baseless one in hopes that it will not be properly defended.
My business has been sued for $10 million before for asbestos, for a product I don't even manufacture. Some of my co-defendants were Ford, General Motors, Pacific Railroad, and everyone else and their brother.
You have to fight it or they will get a default.
Ron Paul's Convention Speech
I have a friend
that is in the same boat. He is trying to rid out the corruption in his local town. The ex mayor has assaulted him and now has brought two lawsuits and a restraining order against him because he has been writing about him and his corrupt ways in his paper and blog. To read about it go to:bethepress.org
so the ex mayor has assulted him???
for real?? Just because he was/is critical of his job performance?
WOW.....
Deal with your anger in
Deal with your anger in positive ways...
Ron Paul is 72 years old and is quite aware that this is just one small battle amongst many and thus, he sees the bigger picture. I would also love to see him run for President as a 3rd Party candidate, but I also know the importance of having him in our Congress as he serves an important purpose. It is up to us to see that we must carry the torch well beyond this year and to make every effort to ensure that we do not allow the major political parties to be filled with mentally disturbed individuals who've helped sell us down the river and into bondage.
As a final note, Ron Paul is just one person...
He's not our savior nor our hero and I am aware that any person who rises to lead others, becomes a figurehead and if something was to happen that ends his life, we will be lost and the energy and effort we have put into advancing the message of freedom will be lost. This is much bigger than Ron Paul as it involves each and every person's life and the future of the world and my goal is to help develop more Ron Paul's until the world is filled with them and evil will not have a throne to sit upon.
Ron Paul proved harmful intentions by promoting 3rd parties
Sorry. I was and always will be mad as hell that Ron Paul just dropped out of the race. He wasn't hurting for money.
And then, after saying he was running as a Republican for months, he deferred his supporters to 3rd parties and held his own political rally directly competing with the GOP. Ron didn't have to support McCain...he could have kept running to the end. At least then we had a chance and we lived up to our promise to run as Republicans.
I dunno if there are any legal ramifications. But Ron's actions can be interpreted he was running as a Republican as sort of a stunt...an Agent of the LP (or something) purposefully sabotage of the GOP from within. Again, I don't know if there are any legal ramifications, but even if there are, I doubt you can extend them to well-intentioned Ron Paul supporters.
I agree that this lawsuit is straight up bullying, but the RP/3rd party thing made a lot of things easier for the GOP to discredit us. Not so ironic, is that as we are discredited, RP is welcomed all over the media...selling book after book.
What did Ron Paul think? That if he ran to the end, and got shut out, that we'd all vote for McCain? No. That would not have happened. We'd have still look to 3rd parties, no confidence, write ins...all to make the same statement we are doing now.
While I'm not happy with the way Ron Paul handled his campaign..
as you said, "this is straight up bullying." If those being challenged cannot find a law enforcement official with enough integrity to indict or arrest the plaintiff's in this case, the next step should be lawful picketing. After all, this appears to be a "labor dispute," which means should should have some immunity via federal and state labor laws.
As far a Ron Paul "endorsing a third party candidate" is concerned, the GOP establishment seems to have no problem promoting the political career of Democrat Joe Lieberman, or using Gestapo tactics on RP supporters.
The sooner the GOP establishment if flushed down the commode of history, the better; and, while fear is no substitute for love or respect, it's much better than disrespect.
The NeoCon Republicans are aweful
they have rejected Ron Paul and all of us like the plague. The Republicans in this election proved to be corrupt everywhere and at all levels. If someone spits on you, do you still try to be a part of their friend? We tried and it's time to move on from the Republican Party. I support Ron Paul in his decision.
Uh.... all the primaries we're over???
The republicans had already nominated McCain, so how was he supposed to continue to run as a republican???
Thank you Dr. Paul for making my act on what I already knew was right.
Welcome to the Libertarian Party
We argue and criticize each other alot but we don't sue each other!
It's a whole lot cheaper to attack than defend yourself
Lawyers cost money; so, even if you when, you lose. File a felony fraud and criminal conspiracy complaint against the plaintiffs. They'll spend time and money covering their backs, and think very quickly as to whether its worth the grief to pursue a civil case. If this fails, use your positions on the central committee to inform the voters of their treachery.
If you need any assistance producing media materials, contact me.
Yes, I think you maybe
Yes, I think you maybe should just press criminal charges against him, somehow. Actually, whoever certified you to run should be sued..NOT you. If you did not meet their rules they should have said so in the beginning, not after you were out on the ballot and elected. That is why, as we speak, Obama's birth place is being questioned, as he may not be eligible for the position of President. NOT after the fact...
I am wondering if a
I am wondering if a committee could move someone to chair, who does not have to run for reelection, and then get rid of them? I am seeing a lot of RP elected committee members being moved to chair, and I am suspicious. The chair is voted on only by the elected committee. I am just saying no one can get rid of an elected committee person, but the committee could eventually get rid of the chair. do you see what I am saying?
disbelief
I'm surprised that I am still surprised by the corruption in the Republican Party. This party needs an enema!
