it is the only rhetoric he is fluent in. It is his POW experience that he is relying on to be re-elected. He has nothing else to offer (as he has repeatedly admitting in the Primary debates - saying he will rely on his advisors, etc or simply not coherently answering the questions).

It's kind of like on Miss Congeniality where every speech had to include the words "world peace" whether it was in context or not.
