A WASTED VOTE
By Chuck Baldwin
chuck@chuckbaldwinlive.com
When asked why they will not vote for a third party candidate, many people will respond by saying something like, "He cannot win." Or, "I don't want to waste my vote." It is true: America has not elected a third party candidate since 1860. Does that automatically mean, however, that every vote cast for one of the two major party candidates is not a wasted vote? I don't think so.
In the first place, a wasted vote is a vote for someone you know does not represent your own beliefs and principles. A wasted vote is a vote for someone you know will not lead the country in the way it should go. A wasted vote is a vote for the "lesser of two evils." Or, in the case of John McCain and Barack Obama, what we have is a choice between the "evil of two lessers."
Albert Einstein is credited with saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. For years now, Republicans and Democrats have been leading the country in the same basic direction: toward bigger and bigger government; more and more socialism, globalism, corporatism, and foreign interventionism; and the dismantling of constitutional liberties. Yet, voters continue to think that they are voting for "change" when they vote for a Republican or Democrat. This is truly insane!
Take a look at the recent $700 billion Wall Street bailout: both John McCain and Barack Obama endorsed and lobbied for it. Both McCain and Obama will continue to bail out these international banksters on the backs of the American taxpayers. Both McCain and Obama support giving illegal aliens amnesty and a path to citizenship. In the debate this past Tuesday night, both McCain and Obama expressed support for sending U.S. forces around the world for "peacekeeping" purposes. They also expressed support for sending combat forces against foreign countries even if those countries do not pose a threat to the United States. Neither Obama nor McCain will do anything to stem the tide of a burgeoning police state or a mushrooming New World Order. Both Obama and McCain support NAFTA and similar "free trade" deals. Neither candidate will do anything to rid America of the Federal Reserve, or work to eliminate the personal income tax, or disband the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Both Obama and McCain support the United Nations. So, pray tell, how is a vote for either McCain or Obama not a wasted vote?
But, back to the "he cannot win" argument: to vote for John McCain is to vote for a man who cannot win. Yes, I am saying it here and now: John McCain cannot win this election. The handwriting is on the wall. The Fat Lady is singing. It is all over. Finished. John McCain cannot win.
With only three weeks before the election, Barack Obama is pulling away. McCain has already pulled his campaign out of Michigan. In other key battleground states, McCain is slipping fast. He was ahead in Missouri; now it is a toss-up or leaning to Obama. A couple of weeks ago, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida were all leaning towards McCain, or at least toss-up states. Now, they are all leaning to Obama. Even the longtime GOP bellwether state of Indiana is moving toward Obama. In addition, new voter registrations are at an all-time high, and few of them are registering as Republicans. In fact, the Republican Party now claims only around 25% of the electorate, and Independents are increasingly leaning toward Obama.
Ladies and gentlemen, Barack Obama is headed for an electoral landslide victory over John McCain. John McCain can no more beat Barack Obama than Bob Dole could beat Bill Clinton.
I ask, therefore, Are not conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain guilty of the same thing that they accuse people who vote for third party candidates of doing? Are they not voting for someone who cannot win? Indeed, they are. In fact, conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain are not only voting for a man who cannot win, they are voting for a man who does not share their own beliefs and principles. If this is not insanity, nothing is!
So, why not (for once in your life, perhaps) cast a vote purely for principle! Vote for someone who is truly pro-life. Someone who would quickly secure our nation's borders, and end the invasion of our country by illegal aliens. Someone who would, on his first day in office, release Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean and fire U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton. Someone who would immediately, upon assuming office, begin leading the charge to dismantle the Federal Reserve, overturn the 16th Amendment, expunge the IRS, and return America to sound money principles. Someone who would get the US out of the UN. Someone who would stop spending billions and trillions of dollars for foreign aid. Someone who would prosecute the Wall Street bankers who defrauded the American people out of billions of dollars. Someone who would work to repeal NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT, the WTO, and stop the NAFTA superhighway. Someone who would say a resounding "No" to the New World Order. Someone who would stop using our brave men and women in uniform as global cops for the United Nations. Someone who would stop America's global adventurism and interventionism. Someone who would steadfastly support and defend the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
"Who is this person?" you ask. Go here to find out:

Your email recipient's response to Chuck Baldwin's statement is so indicative of the consistent arrogance and ignorance of the average person in this country passing him or herself off as a "citizen". For example, he accuses Baldwin's message as being "FULL" of untruths--but then doesn't give an example of even one! He or she just continues to bloviate about McCain. Oh, my head!
Talk about a waste of time--that person and his or her flatulent ignorance is a waste of time!
Mr Baldwin is not Listed as a Candidate for POTUS in New York!

I sent "A Wasted Vote" to my email list and got this reply
Sorry Pal, that is the most idiotic and conciliatory email I have ever received from you as written by Mr. Baldwin. He is no Patriot, and his article is FULL of untruths and misstatements designed to support his preconception. Sounds to me like surrender in the face of an enemy when the war is not yet over. Still three weeks to go and you don’t know what God has in store for our Nation. So don’t be caving in just yet. Besides, that ‘principle’ he mentions will be all but forgotten in a month or two while we other Americans could be stuck with the most socialistic, liberal, Military-Bashing, get even type candidate in our political history. Instead of surrender, you should be forwarding the myriad of truthful information about Nobama to people who may not yet have made up their minds so they can get the truth the Main Stream Media refuses to publicize. I will continue to do just that until election day and then I will vote for McCain and Palin and pray for God to enlighten our electorate about the real dangers guaranteed if the other guy should win.

That argument has given pause to a few people, but I have had a few actually say that they would vote for Stalin...
Vote for what's right, that simple.
I'm voting Baldwin
I will NEVER vote for "the lesser of two evils" again! Either way you still have evil.
Baldwin has my vote.

of the Buddhist Origins of
the New Testament Gospels
http://www.jesusisbuddha....
"The CLT states, briefly, that the Gospels, perhaps even the NT as a whole, is a Pirate-copy of the Buddhist Gospels, or of the Buddha´s Testament. These terms will be defined in due course.
I have also spoken of translations, whereby I mean imitations. To be more precise, I should speak of Pirate-copies in the sense of universal imitations. When I speak of “universal” imitations, I mean to say that the Gospels not only imitate the sense of the Sanskrit originals. The Gospels also imitate the form and the numerical values found at various levels in the original. When I speak of a Pirate-copy, I wish to suggest that the authors of the Gospels (and the NT as a whole) also wanted to keep their sources secret. The secret of the Christ, ho khristos, is the secret of the ksatriyas. The kingdom of heaven was “received without pay”, Matthew 10:8, “and men of violence take it by force”, Matthew 11:12. It is in this sense I speak of copies made by unknown pirates. The authors of the NT wished to remain unknown, exactly as the authors of the original Buddhist texts wished to remain unknow to posterity. It must always be kept in mind that the authors wished to keep their true identity secret."

Agnostic for Chuck Baldwin
I must admit that i was a little put off in the beginning by the overt religiosity, for lack of a better term, of Baldwin and The Constitution Party. But after getting to know more about Chuck and realizing that my minor discrepancies with his platform pale in comparison to my agreements, I couldn't be more excited to vote for him. I am really looking forward to seeing how he does. I believe there will be a new record in the ratio of money spent to votes earned set by Baldwin, at least i hope so.
You've got my vote Chuck (plus the wife's too)
I'm neither highly religious nor exactly pro-life in all cases, but I certainly like Baldwin's views, almost as much as Paul's himself. These are good people who actually deserve to serve us in our governement.

This is all fantastic
Except the 'secure borders' nonsense. If there were no welfare state, there would be no need for 'secure borders'. I think this is pandering, just as I think it was pandering when Ron Paul said it. As some of you may know, Ron Paul ran on an open borders position in 1988, and I have little doubt that he believes the same things now. With lettuce rotting on the vines in California and migrant workers becoming more and more difficult to find, the war on 'illegal' immigration will drive the cost of food way, way up. Not to mention that there is no provision in the Constitution for this type of border control.
With that said, I will vote for Chuck because he is great on all the issues except for this one. I just wish he would tell the truth about why the borders need to be secured in the first place. I know Ron Paul mentioned it in his campaign.

Ron Paul and Chuck Baldwin
Ron Paul and Chuck Baldwin are right on the illegal immigration issue. And price of lettuce and other produce won't go up that much without illegal alien labor. Lots of people on the pro-illegal immigration side use that as a scare tactic.
http://www.cis.org/articl...
If you think Ron Paul really doesn't care about illegal immigration, read what he wrote in a recent article
http://www.house.gov/paul...
Securing the border is definitely not "nonsense".
Sure, RP didn't care much about illegal immigration back in the 80's(because it wasn't as big of a problem as it is in recent years), but he does now. His positions on illegal immigration now are much different than it was back then.
Secure the borders!
Leaving our borders wide open is giving up our sovereignty. There are over 20 million illegals in this country right now and they have had a huge impact on this housing mess. Many of the sub prime mortgages were given to illegals. The government is supposed to protect us but instead they let criminals cross the border into this country every day. Cutting social services would help but that is not the only solution. They are stealing lower wage jobs from Americans and continue to do so at a time when we need those jobs more than ever. We must have secure borders, now more than ever.
And I don't believe we have a problem with lettuce going bad. That argument does not hold water.
Illegals are a problem when
they take away business and steal. From our experience in the Chicago area which has many illegal Polish it has been bad for a few years. Many of these illegal Polish contractors have cut small contractors' throats in pricing. You cannot compete with them and making a fair living. Illegal Pols and Mexican come bid on jobs (not commercial cuz of the union - that's another story) ridiculously low. Seriously, to the point they are walking away with a few bucks sometimes. It doesn't matter to them, but people always want a deal and will hire them. Also, out here we had a good amount of illegal Polish using another "Pols" information (knowingly & with their consent) who is leaving to go back to Poland. They would buy a house in that person's name, pull out the equity and take off with the cash, leaving the house to foreclose. In my small area, we have 3-4 houses that has happened to in the past 2 years. I believe the rotting lettuce problem doesn't out weigh the financial loss I pointed out here that we are all paying for. But that's just my opinion and experience.
"For with God nothing shall be impossible"
IF there was no Income Tax
IF there was no Income Tax as well as no social welfare, I'd agree with you--but if those two things were solved, we wouldn't even care to argue about such a (then) small issue.

Lettuce on vines?
One step at a time. First get rid of the entitlements. Then we can talk about freeing up the borders. There are issues of national security, though, that the constitution does authorize.
The revolution will not be televised...
That won't do
The economy depends on low cost labor in many areas. Regulation of wages, etc. has already driven up the cost of many goods and services. The lack of cheap labor that is enforced by ICE is already having an adverse effect on the economy. And don't feed me that crap about Americans losing jobs. If we don't get the cheap labor the farmers will leave. In fact, they already are.
'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'
low cost labor
That low cost labor has caused thousands of Americans to lose construction jobs in this country. Homes across the country are very poorly built with cheap illegal labor and home owners still pay the same or more for new homes. The contractors pocket the extra profit. I make it a point now to only hire contractors who have all American workers. I don't even mind paying more for a legal business and higher quality work. You are way off base on this. I'm not even mentioning the high crime by illegals. They need to leave!
How wonderful for you that you can hold such a position
and consider yourself an advocate of 'liberty.' These people were born on a different plot of land from the one you were, and they are somehow magically lesser than you or I? Nonsense! If you don't want a cheap home built with cheap labor, fine! Don't buy one like that! But who are YOU to tell me I can't make that choice, because these people are 'illegal?' How is a person 'illegal?' And to the idiot above who said that 'illegals' threaten 'our sovereignty'; Hey moron, I am soveriegn, you are sovereign, the idea that a corporation (which is what the US Government is) could be a soveriegn is not only logically inconsistent, but flies in the face of what this government was founded on. Look at your Constitution and see what it says about immigration. Probably about as much as it says about the federal government having the right to control what SOVEREIGNS put into their bodies, or where and in what manner SOVEREIGNS travel, or in what particular spot SOVEREIGNS are standing when they protest the overarching madness that is this country nowadays. Believe me, you are either for freedom, or you aren't. The 'brown people' deserve the same freedoms you have, for the same reason that you do, because they are men like we are. Not because they were born in a particular spot or have a certain color of skin or a certain amount of money. Government institutions and restrictions operate outside the market. If such an institution (gov school or bureaucracy or a governmentally protected labor union) keeps the cost of a commodity (in this case, labor) too high, then the problem will spread to other areas of the market. The correct market signals will not be given and price distortions will result. Anyone who feels that they have a right to their high paying job, even when the market cannot sustain such activity, and uses the force of government to keep their position and their inflated pay, is ENSLAVING me. OK?? I find this whole 'borders' thing to be so disgustingly bigoted.
