Let me say that again: we are heroes.
Some of us have raised huge amounts of cash and donated it towards RP and like-minded candidates. Some have led, participated in, or have taken the giant step of simply joining RP Meetups, when politics had never before been a part of their lives. Some have become precinct leaders, not even fully understanding what that meant, just because they knew it was the right thing to do. Some have dedicated countless hours impacting the cause by hitting the streets while others have provided all of their support from their computer keyboards.
Some appear to have done a great deal while others appear to have done little.
Listen:
If you have even once breathed in the fresh air of liberty and shared that with another, you are a hero in this day and age.
Own that. Take courage in that. Be emboldened in that.
Every ounce of effort we give to the cause adds up to an aggregate force that cannot be denied. One never knows just what the straw will be to break the camel's back -- it could be a monumental feat like a giant blimp, or it could be your casually mentioning to a stranger the url of C4L.
It matters not whether we have yet to stand in the winner's circle. We stand now in the Ring of Champions. "We are the champions, my friend; and we'll keep on fighting 'til the end." That's what separates us from the see no evil / hear no evil / speak no evil monkeys, and also from those who know what is happening and yet cower, fearful to act in any way, shape or form.
I'm not feeling much the hero this evening; in fact, I'm feeling rather defeated. But I know what I have accomplished, and I know that my heart is dedicated to accomplishing more, however I can, wherever I can, under whatever circumstances in which I find myself.
Yes, despair.com is correct in their dry humor when they say, "It's always darkest just before it goes pitch black." But you and I know that every interaction we have; every communication, no matter how great or how small, impacts those around us, and we have it within us to break the power of the darkness and spread light to the deepest recesses, opening up possibilities and reawakening sensibilities in ways we ourselves cannot yet even contemplate.
I believe we are on the cusp of something big, and I don't mean the big bad stuff -- I mean, the antidote.
It only takes a spark to get a fire going...

Thanks for your positive perspective. We are acting as patriotic heroes in a sense and its a refreshing change from the "conspiracy-eccentric" stuff we all hear every day.
We should be proud to be contrarians, activists and patriotic to the concept of freedom.

What a great post, and I couldn't agree more. I think it takes a lot of courage for people to come here and speak their mind and the truth about the 'establishment' when deep down we know that 'Big Brother' is watching and he's making a list and checking it twice. I have no doubt that if things go real bad that they have a reservation for me at a FEMA camp somewhere. The great thing about fighting for what's right is that it makes it easier not to fear. Love and truth will always win in the end!

The unsung heros which is what it is all about. It takes a lot of courage to look into the dark and shine a light on it. I have, and I know many of you probably have taken an emotional battering from those that are the closest around me for simply speaking the truth. It would have been a whole lot easier to play dumb, stay comfortably numb and go along with the game. Now, the same people are starting to listen and are wondering about what is going on around them so suddenly. For some, sadly, it may be too late to make even basic preparations or to grasp any of the reality taking place behind the created chaos. I am so appreciative to be able to communicate with others like you here on this site. Even though we don't agree on everything and can get fightsty with each other ( which has been a necessary part of our nature ) we seem to have one thing in common. For me that one thing is to break through or resist any shackles of lies or limitations for my inherent right of freedom on all levels. It truly is darkest before the dawn and it is getting pretty dark. I agree, something really big is about to happen. I feel we are traveling through a tunnel at warp speed to the light at the end of it. It really is an odd feeling to feel a bond with people you will probably never meet but what does that say about our united commitment to a better reality based on freedom. There are many just like us scattered around the world; the numbers are much larger than they appear I think and will grow day by day. Salute' to my fellow patriots.

There are times when I think I should just stop talking. There is nothing I can do about all this. But then I look at my children, the people I love and this beautiful country my immigrant parents were proud to be a part of and I just can't. There is a quote I keep on my frig. from a Winnie the Pooh book that sums it up so simply:

You probably know that as an ancient Chinese curse, but I look upon it as a blessing. I truly believe we live in the most exciting time in history - we could, nay SHOULD be the generation that finally ends the rule of political gangsters and criminals in our world.

Again, I see this as a blessing. You can bet your a$$ that WE have come to the attention of the authorities. Just look at how they tried to marginalise us during the Primaries this year.
I have personally converted hundreds of people to the views of liberty and freedom in the last two years; and some of these people are doing likewise. I guarantee that the Powers That Be have noted this. They will become increasingly desperate to stop us in the future.
In fact, I hope that government agents are reading this thread right now. Here's a message to them - laugh now buddies, because we will have the last laugh.
Now, will we find what we are looking for? Well, you summed it up perfectly fanofwalt, with your line "It only takes a spark to get a fire going..." May I add, "Out of darkness cometh light" (the motto of a city I used to live in). Yep, we the Remnant are bringing the light to the masses. Our goals are INEVITABLE and IRREVERSIBLE.
