Analysis: Ron Paul supporters well-positioned in battle for soul of the GOP

Greetings,

I supported Dr. Paul's during the primaries (gave $100 on two different money bomb days), and I just joined this forum a day or two ago.

I'm reporting/blogging/writing for allvoices.com these days as a participant in their Excellence in Citizen Media Incentive. I recently conducted a hypothetical online poll between Barack Obama and Ron Paul. I thought the members of this forum would be interested in seeing the results and my "punditty" analysis of what this could mean for the future of the GOP. It is my fervent hope that after the election, the GOP realizes its mistake in not following Paul's lead during the primary season and moves to reinvent itself in its best libertarian tradition.

At any rate, here are some links to the reports in question. I hope you enjoy, appreciate and are inspired by what I see as a golden opportunity for the Paul wing of the GOP to reclaim leadership in directing the party back where it belongs.

IF WE REALLY HAD FREEDOMS, WE COULD VOTE FOR RON PAUL!

Wouldn't that be AWESOME?! If we could vote for ANY candidate for President in ALL states, regardless of their polling numbers; we all know how "Accurate" they are! The one party Republicrats are afraid of the competition so they devised all kinds of rules to have any other candidates on the ballot, which sounds very UnConstitutional to not have other choices becasue they said so!

If they, the Republicats REALLY wanted to win the White House again and win back the trust of the base after this last DISASTEROUS 8 years of Bush; they must IMMEDIATELY ask Ron Paul to accept the GOP nomination and denounce McSameBush, or if McSame REALLY LOVED his country, he would graciously step down and let the DR. rescue the patient, namely US, all American citizens!

What would happen if McSame did die before the election, then what would happen, I don't wish the guy any bad will, but it's just a question, given his age and several bouts with skin cancer? Would the GOP ask Palin to run for President? UGH!!! I would have to be certain about her true feelings on the good Dr. Paul, maybe he could find a spot for her in his administration if she is suitable, but NOT VP. Maybe Baldwin or Nader, but both should be in his cabinet for sure!

Thanks for writing about it

I find it odd that you supported Dr. Paul, in part due to his firm grasp of economic theory, and then moved to Obama. Perhaps you should check out the writings of Murray Rothbard or Nobel laureate Friedrich von Hayek. You can get their writings at www.mises.org to learn a little more about Austrian economics.

You wouldn't think so highly of FDR if you really understood what Dr. Paul is saying and agreed with it. And you wouldn't think much of Obama, either.

So...is it the blue pill, or the red one? :o)

Talked to a hard-core Democrat

last week and the subject of the bailout came up.....His response: "The only person that's making any sense is that doctor fellow from the Houston area." After recovering from the shock, I asked if he was referring to Dr. Paul.......He said that's exactly who he was talking about.

Kinda funny that people are finally listening.

People ARE waking up!

An acquaintance of mine who votes Republican told a mutual friend that he WISHES HE WOULD HAVE VOTED FOR RON PAUL (he voted for Romney) IN THE PRIMARIES! People ARE waking up!
