Treasury Secretarys' New Powers

Hello,
I was just wondering if anybody knows whether the powers granted to the Treasury Secretary were granted temporarily? I mean, with such haste that they passed the bailout and it was admittedly 'not perfect' you would think that it would be stipulated in the bailout legislative fine print. I sort of get the Emperor Palpatine feel from Henry Paulson.....'Give me the power and I will give it back once I have restored the Republic'. In my mind, every member of congress and the banking cartel knew this was going to happen a while a go. The plans that they are drawing up in the G7 right now and the bailout legislation were planned months ago. What do you think the secret congressional meeting was for a few months back? Why is the news not talking about that? A lot of good the bailout does when it takes however long 'they' say it will have to 'take effect'. They knew and they should have done something a long time ago. Or nothing, which is what would have been best. I feel like with this and the war with Pakistan that our government is being operated by some sort of shadow government with our legislative body intact just for show. Can anybody answer my first question? Thanks
