Visited my daughter over the weekend.

My son in law told me that most the customers he saw during the week are scared to death. A few went and cashed out their 401(k)'s even with the tax penalty so that they could get cash to bring home and put in safes.

He didn't know what to do, but after we talked he decided to get a $50,000 loan from his 401(k), cash in his savings account of about $50,000 and take the money to pay off his house mortgage, put a few months of cash under his mattress, and take what was left and buy some gold shares (taking delivery of the certificates), in other words, de-leveraging. Cash under the mattress hedges against deflation, and the gold shares hedge against hyper inflation. Getting cash out of the banking system avoids the possible consequences of a banking holiday.

It is hard to know for sure which way this debacle will go. It is not only the supply of money that counts, but the velocity. If the banking system prints up huge new checking account balances to loan to the federal government you would assume that would be inflationary, but if those who receive the checks than written by the federal government just sit on the money, prices will collapse. If people view the new money as a hot potato and spend it quickly, then we get exploding prices. So the answer is in the actions of people, and so far fear has people scrambling to gain safety, not new cars, new houses, more stock, etc. so we are at least initially having deflation.

Brilliant man! How is it that he has lived so long and is able to keep his seat in congress? This is just another proof that there is a GOD!

JUST WATCHED PAUL ON CAVUTO:
ust watched Dr. Paul on Cavuto, and I've been watching from the beginning this morning, when Cavuto talked with Huckabee who said in regard to the $700 Billion bailout, "We've been sold down the river on this one."

I also watched as the FOX guy everyone hear dislikes, Frank Luntz said that if McCain doesn't do something quick, he is out because people are not wanting him, and that the bailout should not have been voted in.

REPUBLICAN PARTY, and I'm not talking about just Paul supporters, PLEASE get McCain to step down and put Paul in. Please God, make them all sick enough of McCain to do it. We can not only pray for this, but how can we contact Republican leaders to get this done? McCain needs to go.

That woman that's part of the G7 that met with Bush yesterday was on CSPAN last night, with talking in front of a group, with "Council on Foreign Relations" written all over the backdrop. I'm just sick today.

A TRULY AMAZING MAN........DR. PAUL IS A TREASURE TO THIS COUNTRY.....too bad our country has not realized it....YET!

I have banked with credit unions since I was first able to join one and would never switch. Even before th emelt-down all my friends would complain about the bad service, high fees, and general stupidity of their banks. I have never had a complaint with my trusty credit union. My only concern is that as more people join the CR will not be able to handle the influx of new members.
