A Movement Adrift Without a Rudder or Oars.
I've enjoyed posting here for over six months, and reading it a lot longer than that, but I must admit I'm considering moving on.
Look at the content here. There are three or four running threads squabbling over Zeitgeist and some person named "Fedor". Four or five about the bailout and expectations that "they will create a world bank". A few about gold and silver. Several on the dollar. Consistently, there will be a few threads that say the sky is falling, and there's nothing to do about it because it's all in the New World Order master plan. Nothing about electoral politics or using the Campaign for Liberty, as far as I can tell. This forum has always been full of 'off-topic threads', and that's not a problem...but when did it stop having any 'on-topic' ones?
I don't say these things to complain. I see them as symptomatic of the overall state of this movement.
When did we stop being political here..? I don't even see posts about Jesse Ventura or Bob Barr anymore. The election is in a few weeks. Which candidate will you choose? What candidate do you support for 2012? Which party?
Why is there so little vocal support for Chuck Baldwin? It's small wonder he isn't getting much traction; he isn't even deemed interesting enough for much discussion within the Ron Paul movement, where our candidate has officially endorsed him. There is almost universal disregard for his party and its politically incorrect platform, which is labeled 'theocratic'. Are people that craven in their fears of preachers and Christianity now? If so, I'd say, philosophically speaking, that the New World Order, Hollywood, and academia have indoctrinated the U.S. population well.
A year ago we were mobilizing effectively on a political level, and that scared the hell out of the elites, and shocked the mainstream news media.
Today, the same people are comfy with Ron Paul as a guest on their shows--because they no longer perceive him, or us, as a threat.
Today, I feel we are like a movement of people in a rowboat on a giant river, adrift without a rudder or oars. We may drift over rapids to smash apart on a waterfall, or we may ooze out into a swamp, to be stuck in bogs and have to puddle our way out. Either way we seem to no longer have any control over the boat.
We talk about being "awake", and the rest of the general populace being asleep, as if that transfers us some sort of superiority--but how much more effectively are we able to take political action versus the slumbering masses? It looks an awful lot to me like the "sound asleep" masses are in charge, and we are not.
Can any of this be turned around? Are there still people who care about winning elections?

I Handed Out Bob Barr Leaflets Last Saturday
I handed out Bob Barr leaflets to pedestrians in our shopping district last Saturday and the two Saturdays before that. Many people were glad to receive information about an alternative to McBama. About six people told me that they had already voted for Barr by absentee ballot. So some of us don't post much on this website anymore but we are taking it to the streets. I have also made more contributions to Libertarian Party candidates at all levels in about five states.
Im busy doing exactly what...
Ron Paul told us to do!
This!

I gave two speeches for my congressional candidate last week, waved signs for him, am a member of my county republican party executive committee, and will be at an speaking event next weekend, and making calls to voters every night - I see the presidential elections as a wash this year - Invest Locally !

And I tell you now, it is not the Constitution of the united States of America - it's with CORPORATE USA and we are just chattel, slaves, possessions to them. When asked what his greatest
When asked what his greatest accomplishment had been during his two terms as President, Andrew Jackson replied "I killed the Bank."
People have been aware of the dangers from central bankers for over a THOUSAND years(then the mercantile class) but our fore bearers and WE have faltered. We are impotent to stop them because all we do is talk with no action and let them do whatever they want. We are going to get what we deserve for allowing it and not stopping them..
Why isn't our Constitution being followed?
Because so many in public office are Freemasons.
Personally, I don't think anyone who has taken a bloody oath of allegiance to some other group should be allowed to hold ANY public office what-so-ever. This goes a long way to explain why so many of them do not honor their oath to uphold the Constitution once they get in office and is a big part of the problem we are facing today. They already took a binding oath of allegiance to something else. So ask your Rep./Senator/Congressman/Judge: Have you ever taken an oath for the purpose of entering a Masonic organization?

That was the whole point of
That was the whole point of the civil war. The federalists wanted more control. It was about slavery, just not the slavery you read about in History class. It was about the 14th amendment and converting all men into citizens of the Corporate US (instead of the several republics) subject to the Corp. US jurisdiction and taxation... Economic slavery for all as opposed to bondage and physical servitude for few.
Freemasons and the illuminati are known communism propagation organizations. The illuminati were allegedly founded May 1st 1776... The Freemasons sculpted our constitution around federalism...
Federalism was early communism (it has been called communism before communism - just read Alexander Hamilton’s Federalist Papers). Is it a coincidence that the civil war started 13 years after the Communist Manifesto was published??? And that the result was the implementation of several of the 10 planks of the communist manifesto in the united States???
Kevin... think of it as ...
listening to "Mass Mind".
And just like your own mind, you may go off on tangents for a very long time. Your mind explores new ideas, movies, books, suggestions and so forth, and only once in a while goes back to its main concern, focus and drive.
Consider it a healthy sign of a healthy new movement.
As far as WHO and HOW we should vote, the answer is very clear to us. Vote 3rd Party. End of Story.
I will probably hold my nose and vote for Barr, even though as I have written here a DP he is NO libertarian at all. Arizona is a McCain state, so the more votes Barr gets the more it sends a message that we want Small Government.
A vote for the Green party just registers your concern for the Environment.
A vote for Nader is a vote FOR government, specifically one that has "government cop on the Corporate beat" as Nader calls for it.
Then there is the Constitution Party (not on AZ ballot) which would be a vote for the Constitution except they want to change it in a Christian direction. So A vote for Baldwin sends a Christian message too, thus left out is the libertarian message of Separation of Church and State as a GOOD THING. Take a look at the platform of the Constitutional party vs the Libertarian Platform, and you will see what I mean.
So we have a PROTEST VOTE. We vote 3rd party. We vote Libertarian and we send the Revolution's message. Its that simple, despite the irritating failings of Barr.
In the meantime Kevin, please read these books and lets talk about them in threads:
The first 3 I am sure Ron Paul has read & even endorsed,
1) "Libertarianism in One Lesson", written by former LP candidate in 1984, David Berglund. Its a fast read, just 100 or so pages. What is amazing is the numbers compared to today's numbers.
2) "Economics in One Lesson", written by Henry Hazlett. I have heard Dr. Paul quote him several times and reference his lessons in his own writings.
3) "Healing Our World in an Age of Aggression" by Dr. Mary Ruwart. Dr. Paul has personally endorsed this book on the back cover as a must read.
4) "The Global Brain" by Howard Bloom -- Here is a quote, "Networking has been a key to evolution since this universe first flared into existence..." This book is my personal favorite. Find it here at Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/Glo...

"In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce and brave man, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." … Mark Twain
I think most of us realize
I think most of us realize there is no political solution at this time. Many are busy trying to educate the masses as much as possible taking advantage of the economic situation as it develops.
However most of us know that would take decades if that is all we had to rely on. After all it took decades to for the time to be right for Ron Paul to make an impact. However I am hopeful the coming meltdown will accelerate our work for us and allow us an opportunity for real change.
Until then you are correct in that the asleep majority are in charge and we are stuck with them. So we keep trying to educate and hope enough wake up as things get worse.
Also many people are burned out and broke from putting their all into the Ron Paul campaign. So in essence we are down right now but not out for the count I believe.

The political solution is there
Ron Paul has shown the way for a political solution that won't take decades: A Republican Party takeover. The name of the game is to get the party back to the Barry Goldwater/Robert Taft roots by electing like-minded candidates into congress. Hopefully we win a few this year, such as BJ, but 2010 and 2012 will be bigger because of the planning that is going into it. And presumably the Republican Party will be horse whipped after November and will be looking for another "Contract with America" style platform to regain power. Ron Paul will be very influential in that movement.
I hope your right however
I hope your right however unfortunately I don't see it happening that soon. We have made huge inroads into our Republican party here in Idaho, taken over entire central committees and even one region elected many PCP's and have some candidates running even a write in to oust one of our congressman who voted for the bail out however we are still not in charge and still fighting the same old ignorance and old guard cronyism. It looks like the chosen candidates will still be elected because not enough people in Idaho are awake and we got 24% for Ron Paul the highest of any state.
Maybe after the economy implodes enough people will wake up. However without some event like that I could see it easily taking another decade or more to get enough people awake to effect a real change.

What are you doing today?
1) Are you organizing an END the FED rally for November?
2) Have you filled in all the information at campaign for liberty so you know your precinct?
3) Have you picked your topics you want to fight on (Real ID, Taxes, Immigration, Sound Money, Flouride, etc.) and found a way to fight by letters to the editor, call in shows, get politicians who rally behind your cause?
4) Have you gone through your neighborhood with 3rd party ballots?
5) Have you run for politial positions, or helped others run?
This is the "long work" phase of the Revolution and people who don't want to work will feel without direction because they haven't picked one yet. It isn't just donating on moneybomb day that gets things done.
If you're in the revolution get ready for a long haul, because this country is going through a major shift of power away from the constitution.

Ron Paul's Convention Speech
I actually agree
w/ you Kevin. As I read through the posts on your thread, I understand how you feel. There is an element that is missing. I can only break it down to the fact the Dr. Paul is no longer an option (w/ him being on the ballot in 1 state); & lots of old timers are gone. (I still say we draft him though --- even if he doesn't want to be pres.).
It seems to be mostly newbies coming down; (maybe those those younger than 30 weeks. I'm actually over a yr. but as being an older member, I was here during the "Daily Paul crash of '07/Early08" therefore having my acct. reset to zer0 - M. Nystrom can verify).
I am with you. Remember the GOOD DAYS when all of us would race to TRY to be F1RST to donate to Ron Paul Money Bombs!?! We would EAGERLY stay up all night & refresh the money bomb counters to make sure Dr. Paul was getting the appropriate donations. How EXCELLENT WERE WE to help donate millions in 1 day? More than once? We would make sure to drown out every supporter of every other candidate at their campaign stops. Remember how worried all the other candidates were (esp. Ghouliani) when RP supporters showed up during their stops??
I honestly believe the next step is as done in the following videos. Yes, it is the same song in all 3 - (written specifically due to the HUGE tragedy the gov't provoked). However - this movement helped stopped an international conflict (war). I think I seriously would take a bullet to get the job done like these GORGEOUS young patriots did. (purposely or not)

Ahh, Those Memories
It was roughly one year ago when some of us started promoting the November 5th money bomb. Boy did we shake things up politically.
But alas, times change.
I pretty much disagree with
I pretty much disagree with most of the post. It would take too long to explain why.
But I'll leave some hints.
1) Having "your guy" win the presidency doesn't win you shit. Case in point, look at every president ever elected after 1900. A good portion of the people were on the "winning team", and what did it win them? Jack shit.
2)There's so little support for Baldwin because he simply doesn't measure up. Period. End of Story. I like the guy. I'm sort of OK with the "Constitution Party". But that's as far as it goes.
3)What was really the mission? It wasn't to win the whitehouse. So what was it? Answer me that? I know the answer. What's yours?
Well said
Kevin, I've often read some of the wackiness you are talking about, then your reply would be in the mix and I thought "thank God there are some sane people here." I also noticed this Fedor person who doesn't seem to understand what Ron Paul is about, yet he casts a lot of accusations at other people about "not getting it" etc... The most discouraging thing has always been to see people supporting positions that are the antithesis of what Ron Paul believes. Sometimes you even see "Progressive" opponents of Ron Paul being supported here, which is even more baffling. Nice writeup, I think you said what a lot of people were thinking.
The Organization is called
The Organization is called the Campaign For Liberty.
Yes, Daily Paul is just that.... a daily place for people to share ideas, information, Videos and educating ourselves with the principles of RON PAUL.
This is a GREAT Site and I visit it daily. By no means to I agree with everything posted.
Regarding the Presidential Election. Ron Paul dropped out of the race.... and WE didn't. However, WE don't all agree upon one candidate. Most like Baldwin, some like Barr, a few like Nader and a couple of states get to vote for Ron Paul. Neither of these candidates will WIN this election because of the stranglehold of the two party system and media while there is not a real excitement regarding the other 3rd party candiates. I don't really understand WHY Ron Paul didn't go 3rd Party or Independent, because he LEGITIMATELY had a great shot at winning. Maybe he was afraid of actually winning, which to me is very understandable. I'd hate to be the next president because it's a no win situation.
In any event, we have to look Long-term and actively participate in the Campaign for Liberty and other organizations to restore the republic.
Our focus should be to win short and long term...
1) Educate ourselves (this site helps) and
2) Obtain tools (text and video)
and work to educate others about
1) the Constitution
2) the sinister deeds of the FED and
3) the UNLAWFUL acts of Congress.
Without knowledge of the Constitution individuals tend to focus on issues (education, health care, abortion, etc.) most of which the Constitution prohibits from being addressed on the federal level. Most people can't see the forest when they concentrate on a particular tree or trees. Most people need to have a paradigm shift when it comes to their view of the role of government. It can only clearly come into view with a correct understanding of the Constitution and what a Constitutional Republic is.
It would be helpful to focus our energies in this direction.
We could create useful materials (tri-fold pamphlets, videos, etc) to distribute to the masses and post them somewhere on this site. One useful example might to create a flier with excerpts from Bastiat's "The Law".
The Campaign For Liberty site has already started to do something along these lines.
I am planning to try to get some of my neighbors together to do a brief study of the Constitution and afterward move on to "The law". I am searching for a useful constitutional study guide so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Yeah,......
It is called being involved in Politics!
Contact your reps and senators, state and federal level.
If you are the type who wants to elect someone or just wants someone to take the reigns over than that is just being lazy.
This movement is for people who need to be enlightened on the political process and spreading the word to be more vocal rather than just reading and posting up opinions in forums.
I do that, I contact my congressman, I contact my lame Senators, I get involved. I know it's hard if you have family but do what you can, at your pace, but don't expect a John Wayne to pop up and take over!
It is about everyone!
Everyone getting involved!
Ron Paul is technically doing more than one job right now!
He needs our support, we need his guidance!

"The real terrorist's are in this country and they are not planning to blow us up, but rather, take our money, our freedom, and our country."
I disagree...sort of.
Yes, much of this site has become Rense/Jones II.
I disagree with a major point.
We are not "organized."
In the last hundred years or so, the control grid has successfully gained sway over any and all organizations that it perceives as "opposition."
With research you will find that the anti war movement is fully infiltrated and discredited.
This is also true of many other opposition groups including the 9/11 movement.
These groups can't agree on what day it is and thus have little or no effect on the political system or our day to day lives.
We can go on with deep dark secret theories, but, this type of speculation really serves no end except for those in power. Mr. Jones and Mr. Rense make the better part of their livings scaring the daylights out of their readers.
I reiterate my position on fear messages in today's media and have posted to that effect.
Our movement is NOT about being organized. Movements are quickly made a part of the status quo and polarized into ineffectiveness.
As long as each of us has the courage to speak on our own part, not the part of some "group" that marches in step, we will be all right.
The truth is the truth and is not altered by some "agreement" or some tactical plan on the part of a "group."
In the 1770's the colonies were under military rule. King George's appointed governor general Gates could do as he pleased with the laws and their interpretation. This was a form of martial law.
This environment gave the "opposition' the necessary fuel to loosely organize and "agree to disagree."
The colonists represented a military and political impossibility for the British.
A poorly organized, scattered bunch of independent thinkers who only truly agreed on one thing...FREEDOM.
They refused to stand in a straight line and fight like Europeans.
Keep in mind that the majority of the colonists at the time were Tories.
If we follow one leader and one plan we will be quickly neutered. Dr. Paul knows this and remains as he is. He knows we need a leader of some sort, but, he insists that we work on our own and think for ourselves BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT THIS IS THE ONLY WAY IT WILL WORK.
As long as each of us has the courage to speak the truth each day when given the opportunity we represent tiny, independent thinking, moving targets that are a NIGHTMARE for the control grid.
As long as were are "scattered," they have no hope of coraling us and getting control of the movement.
They are scared of us because we are NOT controllable.
We are unified behind the leader Dr. Paul who refuses to be anything more than a cheer leader and a teacher.
He insists that we find our own way and he couldn't be more right.
The reason we will win is that we remain hopelessly disorganized and thus are impossible to control...like I said....we are their NIGHTMARE.
I guess this calls for a Happy Halloween.
Great Points
One of the reasons that our movement was so 'successful' in the last year (if you can call it that), is because it only organised at the last minute, about a year before the election. This element of surprise really had our opponents scrambling for a while, before they came together to defeat us (if you can say that).
We may have lost some battles, but the war is still on. I really like the idea of a disorganised method of fighting this 'revolution'; quietly educating and opening the minds of those around us, waiting for those times when we can come together to fight specific battles.
I know this type of thinking isn't everyone's cup of tea, but if I were our opponents, I would rather face one unified group that I could infiltrate and subvert, than face 1,000,000 individual free thinking people, who only come together when they feel they have to.
I second that, tstorey -

Ron Paul's Convention Speech
Clear Direction
Yes. but there are some (quite a few) on here who hate the idea of a CHRISTIAN Constitutionalist President MORE than they hate the loss of Liberty. I must assume they covertly support the NWO. I can find no other explanation. There, I said it.
I would have been more than willing to vote for an ATHEIST if RP had told me he was the best man for the job. This tells me a lot about "their" agenda, the PRIORITY seems to be a godless society (communism, socialism) more so, than freedom and liberty FOR ALL. With the TRUE Christ, there is freedom for all.
I am not talking about evil men in the past who murdered in the name of God, for power and greed. Remember, the true Christians who went against the suppressing staus quo were hunted down also...Martin Luther was one of them. I am talking about the sinless man, Christ who sacrificed His life so that we could be free from the "religous" hypocrites, and have direct access to God. Our God does not force you to love Him, although He loves you (His Creation). "Love/Treat your neighbor as yourself"...how can there be anything wrong with a faith which believes such a statement?
I am very disappointed by this revelation, (atheists won't vote for Chuck Baldwin) but not suprised. The Anti- Christ will be arriving soon "defacto"...the true lines must be drawn. The lines are being drawn on this site. The beast, NWO, Anti-Christ, false Messiah, OR, Freedom and the REAL Christ.
Chuck Baldwin or the NWO.
I know some people will be upset with me, but deep in my heart I know it is the TRUTH.
Atheists also support Ron Paul
To say atheists won't support Baldwin is wrong I think. Ron Paul is also Christian and atheists who haven't been indoctrinated with Marx seem to support him. The atheists who come from the Communist movement are pretty much a lost cause though - they want to substitute God with their own God, an all powerful, all knowing omnipotent state.

Hang in there
We have to be here for each other on the DP. None of us can do it alone. We must stay the course. As of today, each of us that knows what's going on and what to expect are now being considered fanatical fear mongerers as the rest of them heed the advice not to "panic" and live their lives as usual. However, when the you-know-what hits the fan and the truth comes out, the ones reacting at the last minute will be the fanatics, not us. When that happens, I will need some of the inspiration that is in plenty of supply here at the DP!!
I like the "gathering scattered cats" analogy
Months ago someone wrote that trying to focus Ron Paul supporters was akin to gathering scattered cats -- because we're so independent-minded. Maybe that applies here too: With our primary candidate out of the race, we seem to be scattering in different directions.
I'm having to re-think my enthusiasm over Ron Paul appearing on the ballot in Montana and Louisiana. At first I thought it was good, but a professional campaigner with much more experience than me just pointed out that can be counterproductive. It means that in those two states, the "third party vote" will be split among even more candidates -- making it harder for any of them to make a good showing. Nationally the result will be fewer votes for any single minority candidate.
This is good?
Re: The Constitution Party
I was very psyched to learn (and will be on the ground, door to door, campaigning for) a state House Congressional candidate running on the Constitution Party ticket. In addition, Daily Paul and C4L members were very politically active in terms of fighting the Bankster Bailout, so I am not sure where the idea that it's a rudder-less forum is coming from. If the idea arises because the group is not uniformly endorsing Baldwin, I have this to say: I can't advocate for the inclusion of a 'pro-life' agenda as part of a supposedly "small government" platform. (When 'life' begins can be debated, one might say life exists already in all living cells. Saying that it begins, (end of story), 'at conception,' -- and no one knows when that exactly happens, since it happens on the cellular level-- opens a whole Pandora's Box that could get a pregnant woman arrested if she were 'caught' smoking cigarettes or having an alcoholic drink! And it makes many types of in vitro fertilization potentially illegal, as well as potentially affecting the legality of hormonal forms of birth control, which are sometimes prescribed for women for medical reasons having NOTHING to do with preventing pregnancy. I don't want a political party getting between me and my doctor, thank you). No matter what people think about these subjects, and I realize there are many in this movement who are uncompromisingly 'pro-life,' it strikes me as extremely invasive and Big Government to be so involved in these personal subjects! I am also uncomfortable with what strikes me as anti-gay sentiment in the Constitution Party platform. I personally feel these subjects are more appropriately debated and either advocated for or against in religious establishments or medical ethics. I think a political party platform that wants to cover these subjects would more accurately be called the "Conservative Christian Constitution Party" or something like that, rather than the straight forward "Constitution Party" (formerly the Taxpayer's Party, I learned). I am much more comfortable with Ron Pauls' 'live and let live' Libertarianism. All of the above makes me likely to vote Nader. Otherwise, I would likely be voting for Baldwin, because I like the Taxpayer rights/Constitutionalism of that party.
Sorry to say, but pro-life
Sorry to say, but pro-life and pro-choise is an issue invented to keep us apart. If we do not vote people in who are pro-constitution and pro-liberty it won't matter anyway.
Ron Paul has listed the 4 main topics we should be concentrating on. All other topics should just be put to rest because although they are important to each of us they are not critical to this movement and it's succes.
Dr. Ron Paul
believes life begins at conception. LIFE. liberty and the pursuit of happiness must be protected.
A Starship
getting ready to set our co-ordinates for blast off. Thats what this movement is not some little boat without oars or a rudder. There is a time and a place for everything. At this moment in time we are at a pivotal point in the history of not only our country but probably our world. At this very moment we have a small group of people planning and plotting on whatever the outcome will effect everyone in the world. Before we get concerned about elections, support money bombs,et. let's see what is presented to us to deal with first. Will there even be an election? Now would probably not be a good time to leave here, as we are witnessing everything reaching it's culmination point very shortly. We will have plenty of time to thing about 2012 after we handle what will be before us now.
I think the reason is simple...
My belief is that people have made up their minds. I'm voting Baldwin. RP isn't a candidate and has endorsed Baldwin. End of story.
There is no real debate about it. Barr, while once thought to be the next best thing, proved himself to be a backstabber and the majority of RP supporters picked up on this and turned away from him. Nader was never really an option. Neither was the Green party candidate who's name still escapes me (see what I mean).
In the end, none of it will matter. Third party remains the disenfranchised, protest vote. Baldwin will not even be a blip on the screen. McCain will succeed Bush for more of the same (only worse).
As for the posts on the DP? My sense is that people have put their nose in the wind and can smell what's coming. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.... it doesn't require a congressional committee to convince me it's a duck. Not saying there won't be a congressional committee wasting millions of dollars; just that it's not required.
What you have a lot of on the DP now are the 'survivalist' mentality folk. I ( I know better than to speak for all with an imperial 'We' ) recognize Ron Paul as my president. If, by some miracle Baldwin does get in, I'm sure we see RP in some significant role... but I don't believe for a second anymore that dream will be realized.
We're buckling down and readying ourselves for what seems the inevitable. RP has said all along that this system cannot continue. Pumping air into a flat tire, is my analogy. Pump all you want, it's flat. RP has also come right out and said that something BIG is coming. Something colossal and earth shaking. I think we're seeing the tip of it already but I don't think we're anywhere near an end or bottom.
So, in effect, what I'm saying is that the DP has evolved from a political awakening website full of grassroots enthusiasm, into a crisis think-tank where like minded individuals get together to promote ideas, wisdom, suggestions and theories of what will come and how to survive it.
To do less at this point would be catastrophic. Save those you can save, Kevin Tuma. Those who refuse to listen, those who've chosen to cling to the sinking ship will go down with it.
Make sure they don't take you with them.
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
choice words
well put!
www.baldwin08.com - Chuck Baldwin or New World Order!
how
could cynthia mckinney's name escape you when she's the one who has forwarded the 9/11 truth movement the most out of all current or past congressmen and women?
that's very telling, to say the least.
It is indeed.
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
You are considering moving
You are considering moving on, or is this just a frustrated rant? If moving on is your goal, you must have a destination in mind. Where are you moving to?
It is easy to be critical of others and their lack of involvement. What are you doing to change the things you complain about?
Personally I believe that we have made tremendous strides toward positioning Ron Paul's ideas in a positive light in the mind of the public in general, including the MSM. We must keep on keeping on. We are building strength more and more every day. Hang in there, the quiet times are for preparing for the future. IMO, we will see the fruits from some of our labor this November during the elections.
independent party....
when RP unified third parties under the banner of liberty there shopuld have been a deal made-- to have everyone vote for the independent party candidate--- the general public is either dem, rep, or independent-- generally--- how many will actually vote for green? lib? constitution? people actually describe themselves as independent when they dont like the other two--- so why make it hard for them???
that should have been the choice-- nader figuerd that out...now third party vote will be dispersed between four-- if one of them got 5-10% they get matching funding--- that would be reason alone tp pick one...at least for this time... nader has name recognition--- baldwin does not... i know ron paul went constitution--- but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Eastern Oregon is Ron Paul Country!
Exactly!
If everyone had supported a single third party, we might have gotten their polling average high enough to get in the debates, where an alternative view is so desperately needed. The point about matching funds is also something that shouldn't be dismissed so easily. Third party efforts have enough trouble as it is without ignoring the opportunity to lock up some critical campaign funds.
Politics is about strategy and compromise. This movement is doomed to irrelevance until that is understood.
debates--
oh yes-- would you rather have nader or chuck baldwin debating--
the fact that ron paul does not step up and take one of these parties is baffling to me....
if not simply to get funds or debate time......
Eastern Oregon is Ron Paul Country!
chuck baldwin has no charisma...
that is why he has no big following...
Eastern Oregon is Ron Paul Country!
Isn't it time
to pick substance over "charisma" yet?
ummm... yeah
but people are not very intelligent... sorry but thats the truth....
Eastern Oregon is Ron Paul Country!
I think people vote
I think people vote according to agenda and stated issues, not charisma.
John McCain has won the GOP nomination because he offers what the post-9-11 Republican voter wants: War, aggression toward terrorism, big spending..which probably includes more for senior citizens and Medicare.
McCain is singularly lacking in charisma.
Obama has charisma, but his race and rhetoric are the real reason why he's the Democratic nominee.
One reason Barr is floundering is his record, plus lack of convincing Libertarian rhetoric.
Baldwin has more "charisma" than he needs. The reason he's having problems is because he's too conservative for the mainstream Press.
