I think I'm going to hide in

I think I'm going to hide in a safe

Bump...

I heard on the news

that safe sales were up 75%.
There must be a lot of people taking their money out of the bank.

A run on safes

I forget where I saw or heard it but the story was that there was a run on safes, people buying them as fast as they could be put on the shelves.

I bought a large 1/4-inch-wall-thickness, 600-lb., fireproof gun safe (Fort Knox brand) in January for about $1,400 plus $300 to deliver it. It's the type you bolt into the floor and it has room for guns, ammo, important documents, cameras, laptops, backup computer storage drives, and other valuables. I made a few extra shelves for it.

I figure there is always the possibility of theft by a safe cracker so I have buried most of my hard assets plus a couple guns and ammo off site in sealed PVC pipe sections. It's the old warning, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket."
