What Are The Laws on Barter, Goods Trade and The Black Market?

who cares? i'm tired of following laws that exist only to screw me out of my freedom.

I have been using the barter system all of my life. You have a talent for something that I don't, I have one that you don't. We trade talents. I recently had a friend of mine come in and remodel my bath, and one bedroom. Both seriously needed help and it was something I was not physically up to at the time. I supplied the materials needed, he did the work. Now his vehicles are in need of allot of work and I have the ability and tools to make the needed repairs. So he supplies the needed parts, and I basically pay him back for all he did for me. I have even traded food in this manner. My karma is good in this town. I just wish I could find someone to take down that big tree in my back yard.

You're taking this 'honest injun' stuff too far. Once the system breaks, there will be damned few laws anyone is going to adhere to. That's when problems start.

Up until now the government has concerned itself with barter and the black market primarily as it pertains to collecting taxes on those transactions and your income and also to trade in contraband (drugs and guns mostly).

If you barter you are required to declare the value of the item or service you receive as income. You are also required to pay sales tax in most places.

In the near future it may concern itself with barter and the black market as ways to avoid using whatever new crap money they will try and foist upon us.
