One point is that "They" are NOT our "Leaders"

Point two is that whenever these snakes gather together to talk about anything behind closed doors, you can rest assured that they are planning evil against the people.

Like a previous poster said gold and silver were actual money at the time. So they were confiscating money.

A more likely situation to come out of this is a new world currency. Then they would confiscate dollars because at a certain date they wouldn't be legal tender anymore. There isn't enough gold and silver to pose a threat to a new world currency.

Maybe to discourage gold and silver investing they will put a new capital gains tax on it when it is sold. Just claim speculators are trying to ruin this new currency and put a 50% capital gains tax on it.

How would the confiscate it? Come to your house and demand you give up your gold??? ya RIGHT!! Shotgun blasts will be heard around the US.

I made sealed PVC containers for my gold and silver and buried them off site in widely separated locations. Yes, they might seize some recent purchases I haven't buried yet but they won't get most of it. I'd rather nobody got it than let the feds seize it.

FDR had to confiscate gold to get people to accept unbacked paper. Remember gold was still in circulation as US minted coins. That is not the case now. Gold is not circulating so there is no need to confiscate it. However, if people start circulating gold and silver in preference to whatever the banks want us to use, there could be a confiscation.

On the other hand, if, as I believe, the entire dollar-based global monetary system is collapsing, then the new "Bretton Woods" global currency is going to have to have some kind of meaningful backing to get other countries to accept it and to get the public to accept it.

I believe the next couple of years will see the launch of one or more gold or silver-backed currencies competing to be the next currency of international exchange. My guess for the issuing country would be China, a consortium of Arab countries, or maybe Russia. There might even be a G7 metal-backed currency.

If you were the banking cartel and you saw the global monetary system collapsing, what would you do? Maybe take all your gold and use it to create a new global gold-backed currency and then once it was in play slowly pull the gold backing out again just like they did in the US?

If there IS a new gold or silver-backed currency issued to replace the dollar as the world's money, then holders of gold are going to do very well indeed.

Bump because this is imporant! This could mean we gold holders could be screwed real soon....

I was listening to Peter Schiff's radio show and he brought up the point that if the US govt wants to they can confiscate people's gold. I see this happening now with the above current developments....
