and there's information available all over the web about the possible links between Rockefeller and elite academic propaganda scientists in the whole, wonderful NWO conspiracy thing.
I'm left considering the nature of humanity...that old philosophical conundrum of our "animal" nature versus our "above the animal" nature.
For me, I think it's okay to have the best of both worlds without one excluding the other: "I'm not only an animal, and I'm not only a man; I'm both at once."
So if I could influence the direction of humanity (yeah right, I doubt my vote even counts!) I'd like to maximize the best from both worlds and minimize the worst. A pre-industrial lifestyle (gardening, hunting, craftsmanship, parenthood) with post-industrial solutions. For example, the doctor goes to the blacksmith to shoe his horses (which the doctor uses for house calls) and the blacksmith gets state of the art treatment whenever he busts a thumb.
H.G. Wells......FABIAN SOCIALIST, author of The New World Order, The Open Conspiracy and The Road Ahead. All of which are basic blueprints for the Fabian Socialist Gradual Revolution.
One of the things I really admire about Ron Paul is his predictive ability, and after learning more about H.G. Wells, I admire the same thing in him, too. He had some amazing predictions for his time, which is likely the product of what he read, what he studied and observed, who he conversed with, and how he processed the information.
And you can read about the Fabian Socialist stuff, too, in the linked biography from Wikipedia.
When someone has strong predictive abilities, they deserve some objective attention from the public, if for nothing else than pure curiosity. Which is to say, you can find him interesting without either condoning or condemning his views.
There is a difference: H.G.Wells predictions were based solely upon a well-drawn up plan that has been implemented step by step, stage by stage and that is the only reason his predictions seem to come to past. It is not so much predictive abilities I attribute to him as a blueprint that was drawn up by the Fabians and was put into place beginning as early as 1888 when they touted the fact that they had infiltrated every Western Government and all the banking and business institutions.
I'm definitely open to your thesis, and my curiosity about it will drive my exploration. So far, after only reading a few things online, my impression is that he didn't have the clout, politically or personally, to force any agenda on the world. He seems more like an observer of the world rather than an architect of world-event-engineering. Just my impression so far.
Actually Wells was one of the founding memebers of the early Fabian Society and sought to transform the organization into a much more radical group to place pressure for change not only in the Fabians but also in society in general. He was elected to the Executive Committee, but resigned in 1908 after having several of his ideas rejected, nevertheless he remained an element of vocal change seeking to influence both the Fabians and society. He was very excited and encouraged by the October Revolution in Russia and did a few speaking tours there to promote the Marxist/Leninist Doctrine. He papers and writings on the various subjects of Socialism and global transformation were influential in the Fabian Political and Economic Planning Committee's work which provides a step by step blueprint for what Wells called and wrote about: The New World Order which he published in 1940 and also his work called The Open Conspiracy was also influential. Granted he did not find himself in a position of power that he had hoped for, but he was a very influential mouthpiece for the movement. http://www.1776solution.b...
Certainly, intelligent people can make arguments for and against the scientific dictatorship proposed by H.G. Wells and his kin. But this movie should be part of the argument because it presents the emotional reasons behind his origins of thought.
If you had survived as a witness to the devastation of World War I, and you had suffered the unbearable loss of loved ones, your mind might very well turn to solutions to avoid such a calamity for the future.
It would be insane not to look for solutions.
So what is at the root of man's wars against other men? And what can we do about it?
True, but that presupposes that WW1 and later WW2 weren't funded by the same elite, who financed both sides and then used to lay the groundwork for "World Government" after both conflicts. First with "The League of Nations" and secondly with the "United Nations". Wells' might have had a noble vision from one perspective, but if WW1 & WW2 were giant manipulations by the elite he represents, then that kind of cancels out any validity behind his agenda, in my opinion.
If the root of war is a single elite that manipulates events so that group A fights group B, thus weakening both groups A and B while the single elite rises to a more powerful singularity, then what can we do about that?
That's a head scratcher, for sure!
I like to think about a scientific world dictatorship that is more powerful than the elites who may have orchestrated the various wars of the industrial revolution. It would enforce individual liberty with an iron fist.
Well if it's true that both World Wars were financed by the same elite, then war itself to them is just a tool. It's an oxymoron as well, because how can they claim to "save" mankind from things like war, when they have been the chief architects behind the worst historical manifestations of it. I can see your point about Well's vision being a good one from a certain perspective, it's just hard to agree with the logic behind the method by which they hope to achieve this "World Order".
Okay, that's just a cop out and just to poke fun a little at religion when it faces a similar rhetorical dilemma. Does the end the elite seek justify their means of achieving it? What a mess!
Yeah, I share your question: "How can they claim to "save" mankind from things like war, when they have been the chief architects behind the worst historical manifestations of it?"
I guess that's why our archetypal struggles are so perpetual...the individual versus the group, the active versus the passive, the rich versus the poor, and so on.
Since we're using the word "if" here, I'll make this claim: if the elite can achieve a one world government that saves life on Earth from the cancer of the industrial revolution, then the end would justify the means.
Sometimes, things that appear awful on a small timescale look much better when seen from a larger timescale. The rise of the age of mammals, for example, was only possible after the fall of the age of reptiles.
I too watched this recently and agree with these 2. According to G.Edward Griffin http://www.scribd.com/doc... here in the first 3 pages you learn what H.G.Wells' agenda's are along with the elites he was affiliated with, all this predating WWI. I think this film was his way at scoffing at the unenlightened (then and now) through film, 1984, and what he, Rockefellers, and Orson Welles did for the public "studies." (For their "shits and giggles.")
Here’s a quote from “America Under Attack: A Reassessment of Orson Welles War of the Worlds” by Paul Heyler of Willfrid Laurier University:
“A grant from the Rockefeller Foundation to Princeton University helped create the Princeton Office of Radio Research. The director was Paul Lazersfeld, an Austrian Jewish emigre and a social psychologist whose expertise in quantitative methods was tempered by a humanist leaning. He teamed with two associates, psychologist Hadley Cantrell and CBS researcher Fred Stanton, a PhD in psychology who would eventually become network president."
"The broadcast was a psychological warfare experiment conducted by The Princeton Radio Project. The Rockefeller Foundation funded the project in the fall of 1937. An Office of Radio Research was set up with Paul F. Lazersfeld as director, and Frank Stanton and Hadley Cantrell as associate directors. Using demographic data on the broadcast’s audience gleaned from a 10-page interview questionnaire given to 135 people, they created a book, “Invasion From Mars: A Study in the Psychology of Panic.” Is it just me or does "humanist leaning" and "psychological warfare" go together like biscuits and gravy?

So in my opinion, yes the "end does justify the means" so long as it's the elite's END, JUSTIFICATION, AND MEANS.
I really appreciate the resources you've brought to my attention.
Something that keeps me interested in this subject is that I relate to and identify with both sides of the issue. It's like a really good surrogate to a family squabble for a socially isolated hermit.
He believed that people should be managed by an elite group of Socialist Administrators, they should be forced to work particular jobs, clothed, fed, educated and if they were found not to have the proper character which promoted The State then they should be "kindly" executed to make room for productive people.
