Tetanus Vaccine

Has anyone working for a hospital been forced to take a vaccine in order to be employed? My wife is going to be faced with taking a tetanus vaccine tomorrow and was wondering if anyone had experience with opting out of a vaccine in this situation. I imagine they will say it is a requirement to be employed.
Any suggestions?

RR, if she's had it in the past she may also put this matter to rest by doing a blood test. If the level of antigen in her system is high enough there is no need for another shot.
Of course the waiver may put the matter to bed faster.
Don't even go that far. That's playing their game
Simply say I refuse on grounds of religion. You don't have to prove anything by offering your blood!

Strange
I find it strange that the facility would require a tetanus vaccine. Where I work they cram the Hepatitis B and flu vaccines down our throats. When a new director of nursing came, she developed an attitude about my refusal to participate in the big anti flu scheme. She has backed off, since I am the one who comes in when others are sick. Often, they become ill after the vaccine.
I also exempt my children so that they are able to go to the public indoctrination establishment...I mean school.
My daughter was also required to take vaccinations
My daughter is in med school, so to do her internship, the hospital where she was doing her internship required her to have the tetanus, and flu vaccines. so she had to do it to finish up her last year in med school requirements.
Nope there is always a way to opt out
They cannot force anyone to get one. It's propaganda that it's required. Anyone comes near me with a vaccine....

The only thing I disagree about with MOST of those in anti-vaccine camp is about the thimerosal/autism link.
I'm of the belief that autism would happen even if the mercury were to be removed. Mercury is more associated with the alzheimer's/parkinsons issues - and yes - is a HIGHLY toxic heavy metal.
I'm in Dr. Carley's camp regarding vaccines.

When my son's doctor wanted to give him the Chic Pox Vac
I asked "Is it required?" the Doctor said "No" I said then "No I do not wish for my son to get any shots that are not required." I did the said the same thing last year when they wanted to give him his Tetanus. I am grateful we have a doctor that respects our wishes and does not give us a hard time when we say "NO".

Our former family doctor was
Our former family doctor was just like that. He knew that we didn't want vaccines. He saw each of us at the "2-week baby checkup" and then didn't see us again until the next baby was 2 weeks old (and not for an appointment - we all just came along).
He was mad when the chickenpox vaccine first came out. He said flat-out that it was for those parents who can't be inconvienced by taking a couple days off work to take care of a sick kid.
Most of the time, when one of us was sick, my mom would call him and ask him whether we should be seen. Most of the time it was no. We survived whooping cough without the doctor ("there's nothing I can do to shorten it, just stay home so you don't pass it on" - plus he'd have to submit it as an epidemic as there are 6 of us). Two of my siblings had German Measles/Rubella (one had been vacc'ed for it!), same thing "you really don't need to come in". It was a sad day when he moved to another state.

The last time I visited a doctor, she "suggested" a tetanus. I told her I wasn't interested, but when I went out to reception to find out where I needed to go for my blood work, the nurse at the desk told me that I was scheduled for a tetenus...and I told her that I told the doctor that I was not getting a tetanus...Her mouth dropped open I was so "firm" in my refusal...And that was the last time I've been seen by a doctor and the last time I ever plan to be seen by a doctor...

Only you are in charge of your own health. I don't need to see a doctor for toxic treatments and misdiagnoses. I prefer to follow the "Back to Eden" method (Dr. Jethro Kloss) using nutrition, herbs, hydrotherapy and exercise as medicine and preventive care.

Natural / homeopathic defense against tetanus?
If we take into account ChrisX's comment about rust /manure, and consider the increasing number of people starting to set up little farms and raise chickens, goats and the like...this tetanus issue is pretty important.
Does anyone know of a natural / homeopathic defense and/or prophylactic against tetanus?
As a side note, I recognize that there are some out there who "pooh-poo" the idea of homeopathy; however, that is precisely the same method originally employed by the vaccine concept: take a very small, diluted amount of the toxin you wish to repel, introduce it into the body so that the immune system recognizes the infiltrator and creates specific antibodies for it, and voila, you have an inoculation. That's the basic premise of all homeopathy, the practice of which has been around since at least the 1700s. The idea of vaccination in and of itself is brilliant and wonderful; it's the poisons and multi-combination cocktails that make the vaccines often more dangerous than the maladies they are designed to inhibit.

Three months ago I was replacing a termite-destroyed wood fence with a cinder block one. I accidently stepped on two rusty nails, and they did break skin and bleed
Here's what we did:
Cleaned the wounds with soapy water and peroxide. Then put a bandage with tea tree oil on it over each of the wounds.
I had no problems.
High-quality collodial silver in the wound can help as well, but we didn't do that.
The keys are: immediate and topical application, clean wounds thoroughly, and check and change dressings every 4 hours for up to 36 hours.

I was scratched above the eye by a hybrid wildcat's claws (don't ask). I went home & put goldenseal liquid (no alcohol formula) and Vitamin E on it every day. It never got infected and the wound closed up by itself.

No she should not have to take that one..but some companies may require it. I don't have as much of a problem with Tettanus as other vaccines though.

...so a tetanus shot is not warranted or needed.Tetanus is not caused by a "rusty nail/metal" it is caused when Tetanus from animal manure breaks the skin and is embedded in you by injury. which i why most think of "rusty nails...if you step on a nail or scratch yourself on a nail in a barnyard environment it is likely to have manure on the nail. that is the cause of Tetanus or "lockjaw" in people. they will admit it is true if you push them a little bit about it...for it is the truth. back in the days of horse drawn carriages when there was manure in the streets everywhere, and also back then people survived in small farm environments by raising lots of animals, and had lots of manure...it was a big problem.

Tetnus is not a communicable disease
There no longer is just a tetnus vaccine. It is most likely a TD Tetnus/diptheria and now they have one with all three tetnus/diptheria/and whooping cough The hospital cannot force your wife to take this vaccine. What state are you in? By law they have to offer her the right to sign a waiver. She must not let them giver her this shot. I'm sure this vaccine has 25mcg of thimerisol (mercury) Tell her to ask for the pharmaceutical insert on the vaccine and say she wants to research this vaccine before consenting. Tell her not to settle for just a little pamplet. Tell her to demand the pharmaceutical insert. When she finds out that it has thimerisol in it tell her to say she will not take this shot because Thimrisol is mercury and its a neurotoxin. Then if they really push her to have it, tell her to tell them that she will not give her consent and if she is forced to take it and she has an adverse reaction she will sue them. All vaccine have risks, they cannot force her to take it without full knowledge of her risks. I'm willing to bet they are going to have her sign something to the effect that she has been informed of the potential side effects. I would tell them to go F__themselves.

A couple of years ago the vet talked me into a 7 in 1 vaccine for my perfectly healthy dog. Within weeks she had lost all of her hair and was chewing herself bloody. It has been a miserable nightmare until recently we figured out that she had a yeast infection all over her body. She had lost the ability to fight the yeast overproduction naturally. I then researched vaccines thoroughly and have decided the risk outweighs the benefit. This is the first time we have been faced with a standoff since I have learned what is really in the vaccines.. My dog got this too. I thought is was hotspots at first and was treating her homeopathically, but it kept getting worse. Finally had to take her into the vet. She was prescribed an antibiotic and an anti-yeast medicine. Can't think of the name (ends in zole). Any way she got much better but not totally and now the meds are gone, the spots never totally cleared up and she is chewing again. It's driving me nuts, this has been going on for over 2 months total.

Sounds like you are in a similar situation. We were told that it was allergies and we would need hundreds or thousands of dollars in testing. The vet actually said we should put her to sleep. At that point I decided to do it on my own. I finally figured out what it was and she is 90%% better without medicine (except the Nizorole shampoo). We spent months trying to isolate what she was allergic to. It appeared that she was allergic to everything.
It seems that the sugar in the dog food feeds the yeast. Since the primary ingredient is usually corn or other sugary ingredient it will most likely come back even if you treat it with medicine. Here is what I have had luck with.
Cut the hair short to allow moisture to escape.
At first give a bath daily with Nizorole shampoo from Walgreens. I dry hair completely with a hair drier. Then taper baths off as condition gets better.
I make her own dog food with Chicken thighs/skin green beans and broccoli. I add garlic powder and cayenne pepper. I mix in a couple of tablespoons of unflavored yogurt each time I feed. I give her fish oil once a day. At first I was giving her 2 cloves of fresh garlic in her food (one at each feeding). Her coat is shiny and she no longer sheds (she is a Border Collie). I use about half chicken and half vegetables. It is pretty hard to make a less healthy food than store bought.
I put all of the food in a big pot and cook on low. If you cook on high or in the microwave the broccoli will lose the vitamins. (I don't cook the fish oil, fresh garlic or yogurt).
Until it is 100% cleared up, I keep her dry and put a fan on her at night to keep the "hotspots" from getting too bad.
ANY deviation from the diet and she will begin to smell within hours and much progress will be lost. We do give her plain meat sometimes for a treat but she thinks eating her own food is a treat now.
She is about 90% well after a month. Some I have talked to have said it can take several months to kick it. She has had constant contact with water when I go fishing, but has still improved steadily despite this.
On a funny note. I was making the dog some food and the whole house smelled like a gourmet kitchen. My kids said "hey dad, we are hungry". I said "make a sandwich". They looked at the dogs food I was stirring and then looked at me. I still haven't lived that one down.
Now, animals are a little
different - but not much.
They are around unsanitary conditions which spread diseases among themselves and other animals.
Dairy's no longer keep cats as they "crap" in the grain and transfers disease to the cows. They used to keep them for mice and rat control - not any more. Also, cats carry multiple life-threatening diseases for unborn babies as well as humans.
So, the 7 is one was too much.
My daughter and husband train and show very expensive horses, all over the country, and would not take them anywhere without their vaccines.

Currently all states and the District of Columbia offer a medical exemption, all but two states offer a religious exemption (MS, WV), and 18 states offer a philosophical exemption.
I'd say go for the religious exemption, you might need a physician's letter for the medical exemption.
Note: Tetanus vaccines contain aluminum potassium sulfate, formaldehyde, thimerosal, and polysorbate 80 -- all deadly on their own and may cause permanent central nervous system damage.

Exemptions are for school children.
There is no such thing as needing an exemption to refuse a vaccine to work in a hospital. This is the hospital's policy not a law. An adult has the right to refuse any medical treatment they want.

My question is
Why are they pushing the tetnus vaccine? Its not like you can catch, or give tetnus to anybody. Also how the hell does the hospital know she need a tetnus vaccine? I remember reading a few years ago that the WHO was putting some hormone in the tetnus vaccines that was causing miscarriges. I will try to find the article and post it.
